happy labor day!
so i read the media notes for the SEC, kent state, and bama this past week – over 100 pages of reading in pdf format – none of which answered to me why kent state didn’t bring a cheer squad – only an eagle (falcon – bird??? anyway, the bird watched the game with the players – i think he/she saw more than most of the college kids – that seemed to leave at halftime – whimps…)
as for books…
“julie of the wolves” – 1970s reprint – good book – sort of gary paulsen with a female protagonist – so “hatchet” before hatchet was written – girl surviving in the wilderness – the question of how to return to society – the larger question – was good
“through my eyes” – tim tebow – great book – glad i’m adding it for the eighth grade summer list next year – good to read while waiting for commercial timeouts at the bama game (which, due to the humidity, seemed to take forever) – more of the inside story of his time at florida – his faith is genuine – and that was good to know as well – great encouragement when you begin to think all athletes are jerks
also read some teaching books – ap guide to midsummer night’s dream – literacy tools in the classroom – perfect 800 verbal – some ideas for the classroom – all in addition to continuing the trek through the old testament (ezekiel is taking forever) – and magazines – got espn the mag now in addition to economist, sports illustrated, and christianity today
just three journals this week – in case you’re sixth grade and confused (don’t want you to pull a journal muscle by doing more than necessary)

One day in the forest link was setting some traps. Just as he set his last trap Who stepped out. Who had been wacthing him through his work the whole time. For link this was a close encounter. See Link is a pressnovice,elite warriors, And he cant hurt someone out of frustration that is disrespect. (or so they told him in training) So link is a 5″10 Elf. They are the peace keepers of the Galla Vortex.

So hey i remembered to do a blog and i plan to be on a roll. I was on Treasure Island at the part where they were looking for the contents in the treasure chest that were with Jim. They were hiding while the fight between Pew and his men were fighting the squires men. Pew gets trampled and dies. this is where i want to put an alternate ending. So the fight is going on between them when Jim comes out in the middle with an elaborate plan. He walks out there and silences them all. He stands up on a stool as they all commence in a musical number that is heart felt and warming for the whole family. At the end of the duet the bucaneers and the squires men work together to make the world a better place which does absolutley no good.

POV of mall cop- these rotten Kids don’t think I have enough on my plate already! Coming up to my mall and being reckless and stupid. I’m glad I broke that one kids anckle, she deserved it!! It wouldn’t be so bad if I hadnt gotten fired!!! Stupid security camera said that I showed to much force and that it wasn’t right for me to do that. So now im out on the street having no money all thanks to a few teens who thought it’d be funny to mess with me!
Today i’m diong creative writing.
There’s this young boy who lived during the time if the civil war. He’s 16 so he wasn’t alowed to enter the army for the Confederate States of America (CSA). His dad was in the war but in the first year died. Tyler wanted revenge on the Union but still couldn’t join the army. His dad had an old springfield rifle and Tyler got it when he died. One day 3 Union soliders came to his house looking for shelter. Tyler had the gun in the house and when his mom answered the door he shot all three of them. That began his sttreak of terror to the Union soliders. Over the next month he killed 5 soliders every day. The next day a whole burgade of soliders came to his house and unfortunatally killed him and left.

Hey Mr. Mayfield I am reading Middle school by James Patterson and I am in love with his writing!
Point of View
So I am doing point of view from Leo, one of the quiet kids. He doesn’t like to use words. Talking is not really his thing, so he talks by drawing pictures. I think the point of view from Leo is school is a time to pay attention. He pays attention, but he can goof around. By goof around I mean like he and his friend are playing a game. Each rule in the code of conduct is worth so many points. If a girl Jeanne G. or he gets big laughs are worth extra bonus points. Leo’s friend has to make so many points every day or he looses a life. He has three lives. If he looses all three life’s he cant play the game any more. I think Leo is a smart, bright kid who enjoys school and friends. His character relates to me a lot because school is fun and important. Friends are also important too.
That is all I know so far. I love James Patterson and recommend this book to people who liked The Diary of a Wimpy Kid series or diary type books.
hey mr mayfield i will blog for ten minutes on the creative writing journal. I like to playfootball because i like to hit catch and run but i still like baseball. i like football because you can make contact and hit without getting introuble because its leagal during plays. baseball you cant make much contact unless you run over the catcher. i think that baseball should be more of a collision sport like where you can just trample players for nothing but i dought that will happen so thats it for today see ya

Authors Purpose
I think the authors purpose is to tell kids that Middle School can be as bad as you want it to. If you are good in school then maybe its fun but if you’re playing the game Leo is…. you better watch out. Big kids may look scary but get on there good side. Just stay away from kids like Miller, they are bad trouble. Breaking the rules can get you in to big trouble. Stay on the good side and Middle School will be easy. Only as easy as you will make it. Study and work hard and then you will succeed in school. Follow the rules and don’t troubles will mess you up. Bullies are bad to the bone, like Miller. Friends are there to support you and only you can tell who your real friends are.

So Over the weekend I read and finished The Sea of Monsters which was the second book in the Percy Jackson series. IT was really good and I enjoyed it. Percy became friends with a guy named Tyson who really tunred out to be a cyclops and his brother. Percy has to go back to camp where he finds out that the Tree that Thalia the daughter of Zues’ spirt was in has begun to die so now monsters can get into camp half blood and cause trouble. Oh no. Grover Percy’s friend who is a Satyr has left to go and find Pan who Satry’s go and look for after they have earned there horns. Percy starts having bad dreams and Grover is speaking to him through his dreams a giant cyclops is trying to chase him and kill Gover so Percy has to go and save the day. Him, Annabeth, and Tyson leave to go and search for the Golden Fleece that will save the camp and they are also trying to save Grover.
The Golden Fleece and Grover are in The Sea of Monsters which is in The Bermuda Triangle. So they are off to find Grover and save the Camp.

Okay so I’m reading Saga, the sequel to Epic. So it’s an epic saga!!! XD anyways, creative night.
It was just another cold lonely night for bob. He didn’t have his wife at home. (Bob still expects her to return even though she left several years ago) his heater wasn’t working and it was the middle of winter, so Bob was to the point of freezing. He couldn’t stand it any longer. He decided he would adventure out to see if he. Could find what was causing all of this mess. He set out to his closet and grabbed several layers of jackets and started toward the door, when he noticed a slight draft coming from the kitchen. Silly bob left his freezer open, causing a huge climate change. How so ever, bob couldn’t get to the freezer and froze.
So, hey I am on Treasure Island and I am slowly progressing(slowl is the key word). I left off as one of squires men is to help Jiim on his voyage to go see Dr. Livesay so he can give him the stuff that was in the treasure chest. So in the morning Jim says goodbye to his mother and they head on with horses. After hours he comes to his house where the maid answeres the door saying that he is at the squires house, which will be a lot better because he is a very prestigous man. So they get there and walk in where he finds Dr.Livesay and the squire sittinhg and eating. He walks up to them and spills the whole story from top to bottom of the captain and what he said. While this is going on the squire is pacing the floor of his room as if he is apart of this conversation. So when he is dont Dr. Livesay proceeds on opening the stuff that is in the oilskin wrap. What they find in there is not treasure, but they found a map and a small journal.
Football is fun
I’m doing a point of view shift today. I’m doing it from Kobi’s point of view. Kobi is the kid who sits in the back but isn’t bad he just dosen’t want attention. He came from the shadows so he’s really pale and has long black hair that covers his face. Mika and I just got in a Pod Fighter simulater and he was the gunner. He did horible which I expected. When he asked to be the piolt I was shocked because it was really hard. Then he hits a button and it gives us this awsome new map so we can see our enemies before they see us. He flys perfectly and everyone was shocked. He was the first person to beat level one.

I am bloging creative writing right now actiually so i am going to probally right about my day or something random I am lisening to music right now am probally going to try get my math as fast as possible done. hey song of today is Lighters by Bad meet Evil (who doesn’t know that song) left off with david and co finding out about the switching station in jerusalem. they follow the exposed wires (archaeologists won’t allow unauthorized digging in holy grounds) until they wind up at a tunnel beside a temple, but many kippot srugot (religious people with black knitted skullcaps, kind of like the ultra-orthodox jews wear) block their path. they weave through the crwod, until they come to an entrance blocked by a fat bearded man with a prayer book in his left hand and an Uzi in his right (they carry weapons because of the ever present terrorism threat). they keep following the cable until they arrive at an aqueduct (tunnel for water to flow through). they squeeze in the tight passage, until the path widens into Herodian Street, the street that King Herod built outside of the Temple. i’ll finish this tommorrow, until then, see ya!
I needed to read more of To kill a mocking bird so I’m doing creative today.There were these Gifted Adults working at all different places.They were all Middle school-present Buddies so every Thursday They meet at books-a-million. Katey is the Black headed artistic one. She has dark brown eyes.You usally see her at her own Art Studio in town.Maxine is the light brown headed one who loves writing and is a little shy.She is such a good writer the book that has to be restocked the most is hers!The last girl is Eliza.She has beachy blonde hair and is really outgoing when you get know her.She is a actress who does dancing scenes and a choreographer.You always see her dancing when doing anything. Jake is also a black head and will always catch his nose in any book(mostly the ones by Maxine Gurdall.Tanner is dark brown headed and is the sporty dare-devil.You normally see him at football practice or skate park.Last one is Spencer he has dirty blonde hair.He does hiphop dancing he works with Eliza and has known her the longest.He is always free styling why he talks to other people.This is the gifted adults.They use their talents from elementary to use for good jobs.

So Mika met this new girl at the arcade and Ruben went to go talk to her because he needed a gunner(or that’s what he said at least) so that made Mika mad. Mika ended up with her as a partner for a competition in the pod fighter simulaters where the winner gets a new hovercar and a house on the second level. They are at the train station and barely got on the train because there are so many kids. When they finally get there the line is really long. They eventually get to the doors and that’s where I stopped.

Okay, so…wait let’s be a little more original on introductions. Hi folks I’m Noah Reece writing about authors purpose of this story! Why? Don’t ask questions JUST SIT AND READ.
I actually think the authors purpose in the book Saga is a lot deeper than people see it as. Out of my reading, we find a young group (gang) if you will that are all on a lower class comparison to other people in this city. There’s a discrimination going on with red, yellow, and green cards. I actually believe that the author is showing how poor, rich, and middle classed people are normally seperAted by ways of life, possessions and even the way of acting. See, red is the lowest you can go, so reds have to fight just to be able to survive. Instead of being green and being able to enjoy malls and other leisures you otherwise couldn’t enjoy.
Hey Mr Mayfield Authors purpose
The authiors purpose to writing my book is to entertain. He wants to entertain becuase thats how he likes to write. I guess writing to entertain is a whole lot easier that writing about facts. Its eaiser to me because you can make up stuff from your own head instead of writing down stuff or copying off another pice of paper. It would also be easier because depinding on what catagorey your writing for you may make a top seller.
Um…. hey i am going to to do authors purpose for the last blog i did on Treasure Island. So Jim came to the Squires house where Dr. Livesay was and he showed him the things that were in the wrap. He did this because not only did the author have a purpose, but so did the captain. He sent Jim this ap and journal because he knew Dr. Livesay was trustful and he would go after this treasure. This is a very big part in the story because it is the beginninng of the adventure they are about to embark on. If it wasn’t for the captain, who so many people don’t think kindly of, they would not be ready to go on this great adventure. The authors purpose is to set the characters up for the beginning of an exciting part in this stories time line.
Ok so I’m reading Stealing Princess by: Tyne O’Connell. If any of you have read it let me know. I really not in far enough yet to know how the author writes. Ok so I’m going to take the point of view of Honey. Ok so there is this girllllllll and she like ummmmmmm like plays sabre. Soo ummmmmmmm hang on I’m like trying to write to ummmmmmmm put on my make up thanks. So anyway ummmmmmmmmm like I really like like really really like being mean to her because she ummmmmmmm was sneaking out one night and I like saw her kissing this guy and like and soooo to make some money I sold it to the tabloid. This book is like the Diary of a Wimpy Kid series. It is a bout a boy going through his middle school years. With the girls, bullies, and parents. In the end it always went right in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I don’t think that is going to happen in this book. Leo’s friend, like Greg in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid, is into trouble in every class. Want to know something funny? Remember how Greg liked a girl? Well so does this kid and gets her in dentition. This book is so much alike because they both have the same problems.

Oh Yea AND Percy has had a nice conversation with Hermes who is Luke’s Father.
Luke is a VERY VERY Bad guy. Who is trying to bring back Kronos who was the evil Titan Lord… or something like that.. He’s freaky though.
Hermes brought in a cruise ship for Percy, Tyson, And Annabeth to travel on but it turns out it was just occupied by a TON Of monsters and Zombie People. Luke was on that boat and everyone was trying to kill them.. The boat exploded and Percy and Annabeth got away on the life rafts.. But they don’t know where Tyson is.. They think he’s dead..
But Really, HE’S NOT!! WOO HOO..
But Percy doesnt know that yet.
Percy and Annabeth are in The Bermuda Triangle and Annabeth knows that they are going to go by the sirens.
They are these creepy things that sing about your future and stuff and make people want to get near them where really they just eat them. Annabeth wants to hear what they have to say so Percy ties her up and he gets earplugs for his ears so he can’t hear them.
He has to watch Annabth listen to them and he gets really sad watching her because she’s crying and screaming wanting to get out of the boat to get to the sirens.
So Percy turns around so he can’t see her.. And she gets free from the rope and jumps into the water.

Hey its jimmy again and I am also doing Comparison.
I am camparing “Popular clone” to “Tangerine.” Well some people might think there is nothing in common with these books. But there is and there are things that are not in common. One thing is that the main characters names are both fisher. But to me that is really the only thing that is alike. Now, it is time for the things that are not in common. There is not a flying pig in tangerine, No big brother of the main character in popular clone,No super science parents in tangerine, no muck fire in popular clone, and there is no vikings in tangerine. Well there is my commparison. i would like to here more comparisons in the blogs for next weak. Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh…., its 7:48 now wich marks my 15 minutes by 1 minute. This week I’m blogging about The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. It is by Brian Jaques, the author of the Redwall series. Anywho, I know that he wrote this to entertain the reader. I pretty sure anyways. I think he wrote this to entertain, but he used facts about the countries and myths of the Flying Dutchman to an advantage, because he twists it to a new point of view of a never-before-heard-of-character. At the same time though he creates the image a huge ship where the boy is put in the galley.

Wondering what would have happened if Neb (the boy in Castaways of the Flying Dutchman) would have escaped in Denmark?
My guess is that he would have found the black lab and went to a bench and hid until the pirates were gone. Then he would have made a home and been one of those beggars who sits on the corner of the block in New York. Or maybeif he didn’t like the dog anymore … sell the poor black lab. I mean that’s what I would have to do if I were him, but I’m not so that is all his discision. That is what I think would have happened to Neb if he escaped the ship in Denmark.

After a lot of thought The Castaways of the Flying Dutchman is like the beginning of Peter and the Starcatchers. They both have characters get on ships. Neb got on because he was running from his stepbrothers and one of them hit him and he fell into the ice cold water, then all of a sudden a stringy rope hits his head and he uses all his strength to climb onboard. In the other book orphans get onboard because the are forced to be slaves to an evil king overseas. Well, I mean, they have \the same ideas just different plots.

“Wait wait gaurds dont take me” struggling to be captured. I could see a tower door that had to go to the prison.”Why” I thout. I got to the dungeon and there was some other prisoners. “Hey why are you gues in jail?” I asked “we are pirates.” When I heard that I thout to myself Why would they be in jail for being pirates i am not a pirate but i am a pesant on the streets and i got arrested for asking for a ride to the castle and the next thing i new i was in this scronny jail. “Well I geuss the king here is as crule as my grandmother” I said to the other prisoners.” Well….,(I was iterupted by a cannon ball crashing threw threw the wall and freeing us. “Well I geuss we are being attacked by..””Pirates!” one of the other prisoners interupted me by saying. By the time we left the city it was only me. Some how the other cannons had ether rickashadeed, back splashed, or directly hit them but somehow i survived untill, there i saw him the cracken.”I will fight to my dying br…” There is were the cracken had won anfd my life was gone to “Davy Jones Locker.”

im sitting here watching monster in law and saying when the guy’s mother splashed into her plate and im saying what kind of medical peels the doctor give her. Weds-after a while sadie starts rumaging thru her desk. The cop that is watching her asks what she is doing and she says she is just doing homework then she finds a picture of her and her brother and mom and dad at their old home and remembers her old life.
thurs-after another hour a detective comes in and asks sadie a bunch of questions.sadie looks outside and sees the old man from the museum.sadie asks about him and the detective says that he is in new york.then when sadie looks back outside the man is gone.
I’m reading two books now one at home and one at school.I’m writing about the one I’m reading at School Amelia’s 7th grade notebook by Marissa Moss.The book starts off with Amelia saying why she already likes 7th grade better than 6th.One of the reasons was she wasn’t in the same school with her sister anymore.Now she is used to lockers and switching classes.Only one thing is stopping her from loving 7th grade is the 1st dance for her ever.At first she wasnt going to go at all just because no one would ask her.She tried making up excuses to her best friend Carly but she was already so horrible at lying and Carly already knew when she was lying.On the night of the dance Amelia borrow clothes from Carly because she thinks she has dorky clothes.Her sister being like mine was saying she looked stupid in those clothes.Amelia ran off ans sat on the porch crying.Carly was going to Amelia house before the dance and saw Amelia sitting on the porch crying.She noticed CArly wearing make-up and thinking she should have.Carly talked her into going by promising not to leave her side.When they got there one guy named kurt walked right up to Carly and asked her to dance.Carly said yes and whispered to Amelia You’re next.Amelia got mad and left early because Carly made a promise and broke it.
Amelia and Carly had a big fight.Amelia was also mad about Carly trying to grow up so fast by wearing make-up.Amelia went over to Carly’s house and saw her mom.She knew now why Carly wanted to wear make up to look as pretty as her mom. Carly’s Mom helped put make-up on Amelia so she could see what she looked like in make-up. CAlry’s older brother who is also in 9th grade and walked in saying what did you do to Amelia’s face! Amelia thought it was an insult but he wasnt finished talking.He finished and said Girls withhout make up look better and not fake.They like their self for who they are.Amelia thought Carly’s brother was on of the hottest boys in school so she followed his advice ans washed off the make up.Amelia was felling good about herself so she wrote this story called Facing the Truth.It’s about this girl who ould redesign her face in which one every fit her mood.Like if she didnt lik her nose she could take it off and put on a new one.She got tired of changing faces and told her mom about it.Her mom was really pretty and was like her daughter when she was her age.She could choose which one she wanted permenatly. Her mom was sad all these years about choosing the prettiest one with make-up.She found this face that wasn’t pretty but not ugly either which she thought was absolutely her.Amelia figured out everyone on movies dyed their hair blonde and always wore shirts that showed their belly buttons. Amelia wanteed to be nothing like that she she gradully grew up over time.
k, song of today is Cleanin out my Closet by Eminem, author’s purpose is to entertain, and we left off with David on Herodian Street, still folloing the fiber optic cable. the cable snakes through a door marked Beit Shalom Yeshiva (yeshivas are muslim temples) but Monique thought she saw a pilgrim she bumped into on the road filled with people who think they are the Messiah, and undergo the trials of Him. The faux Lord radios his comrades, ordering them to move in for an assault on the position. Meanwhile, David and Monique struggle to enter the yeshiva, because of the two thick necked guards holding Uzis. They finally allow them to enter and and see the Rav. Rav Kavner believes immediately that Olam ben z’man was hurt or killed, but David admits he has no clue what so ever where Olam is, much less his health status. Im done for this week, so I’ll see yall tomorrow.
BTW, we lost. I’m not happy.

Today I am blogging about point of view shift,
So far in my book a girl and her best friend live in a town where not much happens. This girl and her friend decide to make a plan where the girl goes missing. The only point of view in the book is the best friends. I believe that part of the point of view should be by the person who is supposivly missing. Even though at the begining of the book it tells you where she is, I might want to hear what it was like to be waiting somewhere while everyone is sad and lonely. The girl is actually hiding in her best friends grandmothers basement. This is as far as I got.
