it’s dega baby… :)

so i ran a 1/2 marathon at talladega today – did pretty good – very cool run (i mean, like awesomeness factor – although the weather wasn’t that bad at all either)

before i went braindead (warning – i’m still dead right now so i’m not responsible for much of this blog…), i did complete two books this past week

“how they croaked” – finished the BOB set with this one – i would be the weak link on a BOB team on this book b/c it was a skim read for the most part – i just found it pretty offensive – i’m sure the author meant well, but i’m pretty sure the author didn’t have anyone close to him/her dying at the time – otherwise, you just can’t read it – or write it

“solo” – hope solo biography – really enjoyed it – from the dirt on the DWTS crew to her soccer crew, solo (and the author that probably wrote all of it with her:) did an excellent job – lots of lessons in the books – persevering, dealing with family, forgiveness, redemption, young talent – very enjoyable read

currently on “catherine the great” –  so far, what’s made her great is that she sired an heir – hoping for something else better…

mafeld (the great – b/c i finished higher than my assigned bib number:)

  2. Hey everybody:) i liked the poem Shelby:) I am reading Playing with Purpose and I’m really enjoying it. The passage i read said James Naismith created basketball by using factors from different sports. Passing- Rugby, The Jump Ball-English Rugby, the use of a goal-lacrosse, size and shape of the ball-soccer, shooting towards a target- from childhood game duck on a rock.

  3. Know I am on page 30, chapter three on the book Payback by Paul Langan. After school Tyray goes to the restaurant that he usually goes to. He usually can get anything he wants with all the lunch money he gets. But this time he only has enough change to get a soda. Behind Tyray a voice said,”Looks like his wrist ain’t the only thing that’s broke.” followed by an echo of laughter. They teased him and then went inside the restaurant. Tyray was frustrated and cursed aloud and kicked the restraint door. That sent a knife shot of pain into his foot. “Hey, boy, you best get outta here before I call the police.” said a employee that suddenly came out of the restaurant. Tyray frustrated he turned to head home when he noticed a tall, skinny man standing in the corner ahead of him. The man’s name was Bones. A lot of people in town were afraid of Bones. Tyray followed Bones into an alley and Bones pulled out a gun. Tyray asked are you selling it? Well Bones said yes. Tyray thought that if he had a gun it would get his reputation back. By if he had a gun everyone would be scared of him. Then Bones said next week this time, meet me in the restaurant . Bring 50 dollars with you. Tyray said that next week was to long away. The wait will do u good said Bones. Tyray said ok. And turned slowly and continued his walk home, his heart racing at the thought of the gun.

  4. I also read that he didn’t just come up with the idea, but he was assigned to create a indoor sport for the winter months by his boss at the YMCA. Most people think he just threw a peach in a peach basket and created the game of basketball. Not true. One more journal to go:)

  5. James Naismith faced many problems trying to be an athlete with a Christian attitude. He was told repeatedly he couldn’t be an athlete because was a christian because the games back the were rough and very ungodly. But this also inspired him to create a games without all the contact with fouls and many rules concerning contact and physicality. Goodnight everybody. Again, really liked the poem Shelby:)

  6. So i might be a disgrace to all bloggers in America because I don’t think I can blog as Colby. In the long run when you are sitting at the library computer just waiting this makes you look busy. It also is a quicker and more modern way to do your journals. (GO TECHNOLOGY!!!!!!!!!) That being said I am also a huge procrastinator and mostly on my journals you see three to four journals this time I will be doing four. (Like anyone cares right?)

Who says you can’t read a book over again?????

I think she may be a little crazy. I love her like a sister. I wish she could understand that. I missed her like crazy during the Games and now she is falling for that stupid guy Peeta. (What kind of name is that)? I mean come on Katniss you can do a little not a lot better than a guy like him. Do you feel me? I know I sound selfish but I just think that was a show. Peeta loving Katniss? I think not.

I walk in and see nothing just a blank space a canvas of nothingness.
How strange in all my years never had a seen a room this sterol and clean. White and chrome everything. I was starting to regret my decision about being a child’s surgeon. Then as soon as the wheeled her in I knew this is what I was called to do. I love it and there is no way I will ever think this over again. In this room is where I belong.

    Thursday- September 20, 2012- Author’s Purpose-Mockingjay
The author’s purpose of this book is to entertain. Suzanne Collins writes this book in the sense that Katniss has now lost Peeta and finds that she loves him. In the first and second books she kind of falls for Gale and is with Peeta for public appearance only. While Suzanne Collins hints on a romance factor this book is not only a romance. In most teen books you have to main characters and the fall madly in love with each other I think this is a different story. You still have that element of planet earth even though Panem is going through the uprising you still get the fact that there is war and poverty which are things that are real.

Well sorry that my journals didn’t get to you sooner but they would have if I didn’t have to run tasks yester day.

  7. I am reading Brians Winter By Gary Paulsaon. Brian has no more food he set snares at the river but no luck. He did not have any thing on his fishing lines so he ended up eating snow and a worm that was on his fishing line. The next day he woke up to squealing a rabbit was in his snare. He killed it and boiled the meat into a stew and then drank the broth. He used the fur to make a small shirt to stay warm.

  8. so ileft off at factory. So i am at atrox now using my laptop my # is 37218. When i was reading about atrox i was reading on my computer. They are at # 37217. Help. this is going to funny. i am watching my brother spaz out.

  9. Hahahahahahahahaha. that has officially made my day! the kids you have now write some creative journals! i got bored, so i decided to read them. the kid with name “the bestest Colby ever” (obviously a middle schooler, concidering he still says bestest) had a ‘hilariously clever’ journal september 20th. i was never that consistent with my Journals when i was there… (very rarely did them in other words). remeber that one time that i actually brought them and you said “Jesus Christ must be coming back today because CAITLYN JOINER brought in her journals on time for once, maybe i should start praying now” aha.. too funny. anyways have a great mondaY (impossible with all those 6th graders huh?) but its the thought that counts (:
