i love “liberal arts” because vampire novels are given their just demise:)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

i read two books last week…

“radical together” by my pastor, david platt – great book – even better when you can find it at lifeway for $1.99 – if you sat through the sermons, there’s not much of either of his books that are radically (pun intended) different – but both books are wonderful encouragement for a life that looks extremely different that current culture Christianity (much less the world)

“how music works” by david byrne – for a sort-of singer and definitely a band illiterate, this book was a wonderful gift this week – quite a bit i didn’t know – so i now know how record deals work – why albums are 11 songs – sort of – why music software creates the same songs over and over (basically) – why classical music is overrated – why music fits the venue, not vice versa – very good book by a very good singer/song writer/producer/co-writer – i guess if you’re in music for 40 plus years, you do it all

hope your week is wonderful – yes sixth grade, you must blog this week – particularly on Christmas morning – or else you’ll have zeroes to make up on the between quarters report card (oh yeah, there’s totally one of those)

  1. 1. I couldn’t sleep.
    2. I made an awesome version of the 12 days of Christmas.
    3. It’s 2am ( does it still count as Christmas?)

On the first day of Christmas Nick Saban gave to me 1 really good football team.
On the second day of Christmas Nick Saban gave to 2 running backs and a really good football team.
On the third day of Christmas Nuck Saban gave to me 3 bcs games, 2 running backs, and a really good football team. ( see next post)

  2. On the fourth day of Christmas Nick Saban gave to me T.J. Yeldon, 3 bcs games, 2 running backs, and a really good football team.

On the fifth day of Christmas Nick Saban gave to me 5 million bucks ( his pay day), T.J. Yeldon, 3 bcs games, 2 running backs, and a really good football team.

    Etc.

    See last post

  3. On the 12th day of Christmas Nick Saban gave to me at least 12 rednecks, 11 players on the field, more than 10 sacks, Imari Cooper, 8:30 eastern, coaches 7 seasons, hopefully 6 rings, 5 million bucks, T.J. Yeldon, I did this before 3, 2 running backs, and a really good football team.

  4. they may not, which is why they won’t get bonus-super-mega credit for that midterm break grade:)

  5. 2 am counts – b/c i was up and out the door at chelsea park at 3:45 to run 10 miles – so we weren’t that far off the biological clock

as best i could tell, there were three people up – two houses smelled of breakfast (it’s hard to describe, but i’ll go with the smell of sausage – a haunting, beautiful breakfast smell – makes me want to stop:)

so those two, and then one guy out on the back deck by the back lake – didn’t even see cars – even at the 280 interchange – it was that empty

as for the 12 days, very good – i’d go with 12 quarterbacks (or namaths, or stablers or any other famous UA 12), 10 more recruits than auburn – the rest are pretty good

have i mentioned yet that i’m running 13 miles down there in march??? sort of excited

    merry Christmas – go vandy
