why does king saul have a bigger neck than waist???

second grade coloring sheets raise many, many unanswerable questions…

“tesla’s attic” – i’ll try to start with a book that some of you might read – since it’s BOB this year – the good news is that it isn’t bad – i didn’t find it predictable – the baseball references were cool – there was even a part that could’ve been from an episode of buffy (the raising of the dead bit) – and it was very readable – so yeah BOB – that said, i will not read the other books in the trilogy, the romance was easy to spot and predict, and, most disturbing, these peopled moved from tampa to colorado – hello???

“stake your destiny: buffy the vampire slayer: the suicide king” – a choose your own adventure type book – or rather, choose your own death type book – these books should depress readers b/c you typically end up killing yourself a half-dozen times before you reach the “true” end – that said, i didn’t even know this genre existed any more – so i’m happy about that – there should be more choose your own adventure books – like for middle school – “choose whether to do mr. mayfield’s journals: sorry, the stress got to you and you DIED!!!”

“the best nonrequired reading of 2014” – the introduction was from daniel handler – and he had a bit from lemony snickett – so those were highlights – like all anthologies, it was hit or miss – and as i got bored, lots more misses – people do like to write non-fiction about romance – bah…

happy homecoming week

Willow sat in the back of the car with Dell while Mia and Quang-ha walked in to nail solon telling there mom the owner of the nail solon what had happened, Mia was explaining while Quang-ha was telling his mom that Mia had lied to the cops saying that willows family and theirs were very close…
Then the cops come in and start asking a bunch of questions and there mom is so confused she try’s to play along. Then there mom walks out to the car where Willow is and willow finds her holding out her arms to hug her..

  2. counting by 7’s
Willow finds her self hugging her back even though they have never met, the cops finally leave but Dell was still there he was waiting for an invitation to there house but there mom is in a rush she closes the shop early and is hardly paying attention to Dell, she keep easing him out the door. She finally opens the door and show him the way out. So Dell walks out to his car and he sits down in his car then everything that had happened that day it him hard in the chest and sits and he burst into tears, then his head eases down and it hits the horn which startles him and he wiped away his tears and drives away…

” Change your thoughts and you can you can change your world”
    -Norman Vincent Peale

When you change the way you think say if you where to become a Christian then your life would change for ever you wouldn’t think badly, you wouldn’t probably have the same friends. You would change how you talk to people and the way you view things.

  4. Dialectical Journals Wednesday-

“Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”
    -Theodore Roosevelt

In saying this he meant that confidence and being strong-willed that your already half way to being there that believing in yourself is half of the journey to accomplish your goal.

“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.”
    – John F. Kennedy

This basically means that your only as good as your word, or that your actions speak louder than your words.

  5. ‘Try to be a rainbow in someone’s cloud.”
    -Maya Angelou

Means try to cheer someone up if they are feeling sad, or try to be positive if someone is being negative. Or try to the light in someone’s day if there having a bad one.

“Happiness resides not in possessions, and not in gold, happiness dwells in the soul.”
    -Democritus

So basically its saying that things nor money can make you happy well material possession cant make you happy unless you are truly happy with yourself first.

  6. well, mr. maf…

you won’t believe what i found out this week.

    Hello Kitty is, in fact….*drumroll*

    NOT A KITTY.

i know, right? Kitty is actually her name. her full name is Kittty White, and she lives with her sister Minnie, and her mother and father George and Mary (i think that’s their names) in London.

    weird stuff, huh?

“Who am I supposed to be?” I whimper. “Who am I really?” (Haddix 2005)
    ^
I feel like its sad how nobody knows who they’re going to end up being until its too late. You dont FULLY know who you are until your last moments. People always grow up wanting to know what they’re going to be when they grow up or how they’re going to sped their life. And everyone is always hiding behind stereotypes or what they consider “cool” so nobody knows who they REALLY are for that reason.

“You don’t know answers, just questions.” (Haddix 2005)
    ^
This sounds kind of insulting but the character that they said it to said it themselves. This sounds more like a person who feels like they ask a lot of questions that are deep but they feel that when someone asks them a question they don’t know how to answer it. Or they feel that every time they answered deep questions everything would always turn out wrong so they tell people that so people wont try to ask this person for any advice with stuff so they wont have to hurt ayone

  10. Anyway, here’s what i read:

So I read Warriors again this week, pretty amazing stuff that Davek would REALY LIKE (hint hint). So after getting his name, Firepaw starts getting trained, and he gets ahold of secrets that the whole clan is trying to know. he tries to prove that Tigerclaw is a cold blooded murderer. he gets teased a lot about being a “kittypet” -their word for a pet cat- and being too weak to fight. but he does fight back. (: he goes on a bunch of cool battles with his friend, and he gets to be a warrior at the end of the book; I’ll tell you that tomorow.

I may not be able to blog wednesday, so i’ll try and blog “net week”.

  11. so….yeah. it was on my yahoo newsfeed for the week. still, if it looks like a cat, acts like a cat, and was invented in Japan, shouldn’t it be a cat?

    …?

well, anyways, i am still reading ALLEGIANT. and also mr. maf, about the “classic” book challenge, would GONE WITH THE WIND be considered a classic? i asked my mom (since it’s one of her favorite books), but she wasn’t sure. i know it was published a while back, and it is about the civil war, but…

Tris and Tobias and everyone else with them just escaped from the boundaries that held the factions in. since the book takes place in future Chicago, when they get outside the fence, they see a bunch of really faded billboards that say things like “Coca-Cola” and “vodka”. i think that’s an interesting detail in the story that sort of brings the reader back to the realization that the story takes place in future Chicago.

anywho, here’s my creative for the week. πŸ™‚

    “Space”
    by Blue

    She stares
    into space.

    They say
    she takes up space.

    We say
    SPACE
    like it’s funny.

    She cries silently
    They laugh openly
They don’t know what the world holds.

    Her wings
    are opened,
    creased like
    wrinkled silk.

    Her fingers
    stretching,
    touching nebulas.

    They don’t know she’s
    one.

    Make your mark
    And be ready.
    Run away,
    take of steady.
Let your heartbeat carry you on.

    Fly away, little bird,
    into
    SPACE.

You can have as many relatives as you like and talk to them all but lets be honest you tell your friends stuff you don’t tell your family so if you have one friend that is loyal, that cares, and that loves you they are the equivalent of many relatives, but in a way your friends are your family.

  19. more story from Binder Girl

β€œWe do now, she’s that crazed Idiomologist, but today she’s commandeered a projector and used her fingers as shadow puppets. So far, she’s killed several dozen bunny puppets on the projector. The kids are pretty traumatized.”

β€œPut down those fingers!!!” Binder Girl announced as she entered the room.

β€œNever, for I am Killer Kate, the vicious and terrible bunny killer!!!”

β€œWeren’t you The Idiomologist?” the detective asked.

β€œI’ve changed personalities, that’s totally acceptable for someone my age.”

β€œYou may have a point, but turning to killing shadow bunnies isn’t a good personality change. Now, feel the wrath of a shadow binder!!!”

Killer Kate felt the wrath totally for Sarah Nicole rapped Kate’s knuckles with the binder. Killer Kate ran away promising vengeance.

  22. Ok here’s my creative work for the week.

    Middle School Dances

As the DJ plays songs that only the ghetto kids and the white girls who like to strut their stuff know, the boy waited for his turn at a slow dance with his weekly crush. He knew today would be the day theat he asked her to dance, for sure. The DJ played this slow country ballad about beer, deer, and women, and the kids started to pair up. The thing about these dances, though, is all of the couples dance as if they are Strahan’s teeth, as far apart as their arms can reach. The boy eye his crush, as she walked towards him. He prepared to speak as she passed by him on her way to the caafeteria saying, “All the hot boys have already left for football, let’s go get some pizza, rather than dance with the kids we feel bad for!” The boy was crushed, mostly by the self-confident seventh grader who had just fallen on top of him trying to breakdance. He went back to school the next day, and almost forgot his troubles when Mrs. Vincent started her class.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^That’s basically every school dance – kind of – that we have. Except for in the winter and spring, when the football players have some rejecting to do.

  23. i finished my first bob book and i liked it even though Mr.Mayfield didnt like it.

Tuesday: Romiet and julio made it out of the water and was found by there parents in a holow under a log. they were unconscious and were brought to the hospitall. they were both beet up pretty bad and were in very bad shape. they met with each other in the hospitall and were very happy. a few months later they realized that they were being treated odd and wnted every thing to go back to normall.

  24. Last is trying to convince me and jason to re-read Anna Karenina in honor of Leo Tolstoy’s 186th B-Day. I think jason is siding with him but thats only because it’s his third favorite book. this all got started when last caught jason reading it last year and took over to read for himself. I really have no choice in the matter so i think i’ll just go along with it so i don’t make last mad (He’s bonkers).

    Sincerely: Homer Bear

(this was just to bring attention to Leo Tolstoy’s B-day)

  25. “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.”
    -Eleanor Roosevelt

You make mistakes and you have accomplishments but at the very beginning of the day you get to have a clean-state or start fresh every day and in hard times this quote can be reassuring.

“The good times of today, are the sad thoughts of tomorrow.”

    -Bob Marley

Well the way I perceived the thing was that the good things that happen today the reason they will be sad tomorrow is because their gone and so you can’t relive them, just think about them and when ever you think about them you feel sad so they are ” Sad thoughts”.

“Even if you fall on your face, you’re still moving forward.”

    -Victor Kiam

So even if you fail at doing something at least your trying to do something, well most important your trying. So even if you don’t succeed at doing something your moving toward you goal of succeeding by just trying.

  27. Small update from the reading of Cirque Du Freak: Vampire Mountain.

In Darren and Mr. Crepsley’s lodging of the way stations, they come upon one that has a smashed cofin with vampire blood splatered al around it (only identified as vampiric blood when Lantern and Gavner TATSE the somewhat dry blood). In the concern of saffety they do not stay at the way station, but sleep out in the open. When dusk finally comes, Darren goes to fill the cantines up at the creek. While filling the cantines, a wolf pounces onto him and licks him. A few minutes later and the rest of “Streak’s” pack shows up, along with the cub (who tries to “mark his teritory” on Darren’s left thigh). Darren brings the wolves back to show Mr. Crepsley and Gavner, Lantern explains the extreme friendlyness of the pack. Aparently, vampires and wolves have almost identicle “sents”, which dogs use to determine weather the person is good or bad and to recognize their owners, packs, groups, etc.

  28. I have officially changed to WaspMan.Even though the wound finally healed I still believe that my story is comic book/movie/franchise worthy.
“Romiette and Julio”Creative;Plot change to a children’s(namely 2-6year olds) book:when Julio moves from Texas he falls in love with Romiette. But a group of friends (instead of a gang cause its little kids)called the Family or Angelcats(instead of devildogs)wants to be friends with them to much(you get it by now). But it all magically πŸ™‚ works out(cause it works like that?).and they lived happily ever after.the end πŸ˜€ πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€

  29. just finished the rest of chapter 5, plus 6 and 7. THe great thing about the Cirque books is that the events in the book actually explain the ilistration on the cover. Most books lack an explination and the ilistration is mearley justa scene from that time descriding the time the book was based about but never explaining apart of the book’s plot.

Starting in chapter five, the wolves surrounding a hooded figure on the cover is revealed. It is Darren with a pack of wolves who he has befriended. The masive vampiric bear is first seen in the end of Chapter 7, and the bear’s attack continues into chapter 8.

I personally think that a book should not only give a good story, but also give a visual representation of the character for future references. I, for one, can see the book as if it was a movie. Some cannot do this and I feel greatly sorry for them that they will never expirience a book in the best way possible and the only way I’ve ever been able to read. The visual image helps build a strong understanding of that character. For instance, if you see a skinny guy that looks like he’s a tooth pick with arms, legs, and a head, you wouldn’t exactly have an idea of upper body strenght or plain out, any strenght. These images could also be veiwed as bad because of steriotypes which can throw the intire mood of the story out of whack. I know I’m getting off subject but hold on a second. The point of steriotypes is to sum up the majority of a group’s habbits and behaviors. This can also lead to racist and sexist. Which I dont even want to get into. Either way, great book and great cover illustration. I am still recomending it to you guys. That and all of the books in the Kane Series.

    Peace off, yo

  30. I’m reading short fuses which is a series of short stories and im on the book about this professor named professor zhang. I dont know why he is called professor because he is a police officer but I’m just going with it. The police are called to a hotel because they think they have a body but when they get there they realize that the manager said ‘somebody’. There was a man that came in with a key card to a Russian woman’s hotel that hadn’t been there all day and he didn’t remember anything aside from just waking up with the key card in his pocket. He had nothing for him to realize who he was like a wallet. He had a lump on his head so the police suspect someone mugged him, hit him over the head, and he had temporary amnesia.

  31. I am going to blog about the book, THE DUDES GUIDE TO MANHOOD.

Beginning: Your dad probably did the best he could with the tools he had, but he didn’t always use the proper tools at the proper time.

Middle: Passive men are often nice guys, but they aren’t respected because they refuse to take risks.

Middle/End: Friendships are forged in the trenches, in the struggle to accomplish something.

End: True manhood doesn’t mean being perfect ourselves; it means trusting in Christ’s perfection for us.

    (: THANKS!

  32. ok here’s a huge hunk of my journals because the game’s tomorrow night and I’ll have no time to do them then. Here’s my creative response to the bok im reading, Scorpia by Anthony Horowitz. It’s really sad that young adult mystery/adventure books are my favorite, but they are so deal with it.

Alex followed Scorpia’s boat carefully. He was sure that if he could get close enough, he could see who the criminal was driving it. He dodged the different vendors of Venice, and continued running alongside the Grand Canal. He was already extremely tired, and he was almost about to give up, when the canal T’d and alex was on the side that the boat went to. He saw the criminal wasn’t from Venice, bacause he could make out ‘Texas’ written on his shirt. As he got closer, her saw some math equations in front of the man, and he seemed to be staring at them. He then heard, “This stuff is too easy, I wish I were in Montgomery instead!” Billy wasn’t paying attention and veered the boat right towards Alex. He jumped on and overtook Billy’s boat, ahoving him into the Grand Canal.

    Here’s my dialectal journal.

“The woman stared at him in astonishment. Alex turned and walked back to his friend.”

By now, Alex has done so many missions, that he acts like it’s no big deal, becuase its not. Its almost like our football games. When Jeremiah scores for his fifth of sixth time in the game, he doesnt feel the need to celebrate, as he usually does. His friend mentioned, Tom, is of course astonished at Alex’s act, but Alex isn’t. Almost exactly like how I went to shoulder-bump with Jeremiah but he declined because he felt it not neccesary. What if you’re the bystander? What do you think when the kid who you just saw do this amazing thing acts like it’s no big deal, and he’s only fourteen!

“It [this particular Venitian palace] sank right into it [the Grand Canal], the water lapping against the brickwork.”

Doesn’t this paint a perfect mental image of the situation? I can hear the water pounding against the palace, I can see the loose water rebound into the canal. I’m just glad the “epic romance” that we read today wasn’t as fluent on the use of imagery. Otherwise, I might’ve puked. Horowitz has always, in my mind, been very good at his uses of imagery. I’ve always been able to picture the settings perfectly, and since I’ve read the book before, I can remember the scenes as I did at first.

Obama- ” Had a plan” well when saying this there implying that Obama has no plan of what to do or how to run this country, that he’s been making stuff up as he goes along. You really need to have knowledge of what’s going on but I agree and I don’t even know if I can say that because they actually try tom avoid politics because they don’t want trouble ,or they don’t think kids know what’s going on but we do.

Democratic Party And Republican Party- Is supposed to represent the tin man who had ” No Heart” in Wizard of Oz, but its saying if only we had ” Higher taxes” which i’m guessing the same reason the Elephant which had no courage is they might have said there would be not higher taxes and then there where so they might want to work the courage up to do the right thing which I have no idea is .

Guards had it guarded 24\7 so it was going to be hard to get to the fuse box. From what I could see there was 6 guards. I had no clue what I was getting into. I went from pole to pole only doing harm to one guard, I stripped him of his gun, and clothes. Now I looked like a guard I went to the fuse room and was about to cut the plug when my hat fell off. I was blown I quickly pulled my gun out and started firing. I hit about 2 of 8 but I took out most with my fist. I had beat them I was pulling the plug when POW. That’s all I remember about 13 years ago.

Eddy Lacy is my favorite Tailback in the NFL and he is one of the best. But despite all that #27 still lives in that home. Lacy’s family had to move to CA when their house was hit by Hurricane Catrina. Lacy lived in the house with Eddie SR, Wanda (Dad and Mom) and Brittany (sister). Beggining: He talks about his self leaving that office on that beutiful day. He even says to his self that was to perfect for an unusual accidents to happen. It was one of those days when a man feels good, go talk to a neighbor, be happy to live in the country he lives in and fels happy about his gov.
Beggining:I was walking along and heard a dog fight but it was just a regular kind. As I got nearer I could hear multiple dogs fighting but before I knew it they busted out of the alley…there was about 25 of them and they were not trying to bite me, I could tell that they were chasing one and i felt bad for the unfortunate one. I knew if I didn’t act quick the sanitation dept. would have to come and get a dead dog.

  42. Here’s my last two journals from: Where the red fern grows.

MIDDLE: His mom made a cap out for his first coon hunt. Everyday I would go hunting unless it was bad weather and mama would still have to hog tie me. He says,”What wonderful nights with his dogs those were”. They were running through the woods like deer, even kept on going if it was thick, no stoping them!
MIDDLE: He see’s a coon by the river but he rembers what his grand father say’s.”Never underesamate a coon, they can pull some mean tricks on your hounds…some can be fatal”. A cold silence and then he could hear crack and snap at the bottom of sap tree. From far back, the lonesome long howl from a male timberwolf.
