BOO!!! attack of the sprinklers on a fine, clear sunday morning…

okay, first, lil bri is first for like – ever

(i would swap her out for all my sixth grade – in a heartbeat – it wouldn’t be fair to the elem teachers though – they’d be like “WHAT??? we gave those kids to you a few months ago – it’s not our fault they don’t read…”)

“the storm and the tide” – expansion of a sports illustrated article from years ago – there was a big tornado three years ago – before any of you were born – that devastated tuscaloosa – the book didn’t give much new information – it would be a good book for people though that are unfamiliar with the situation – and with t-town – saban – i enjoyed it though

“offensive conduct: my life on the line” – something like that – by john hannah – incredible player at bama – with the patriots – amazing story how someone with seemingly what everyone wants – fame, money, power – loses it all at 55 and has to rebuild – i do like those types of stories because we all have up’s and down’s – and the down’s – no matter how low – should never define us

“finally free” – michael vick book – again, you’re all too young to know – but vick was like the most hated man for a while in ’07-08 – he was convicted of abusing dogs – running fights with them facing off – the book really wasn’t super insightful – although, our pro athletes aren’t judged by their perceptiveness – i guess it’s a reminder that things catch up – that you might get away with something for a while but situations changed – it was a sad book

happy nanowrimo-ing this week – if you are…

  4. Im not nanowrimoing so this is my dialectical journal for short fuses
    Line:
The woman was her great aunt, a withered husk of a human being, wrapped in a black shawl despite the searing heat.
    Response:
I think that this has metaphor in it when it says the woman was a withered husk of a human being and that it was stating that either about her personality or how she was dressed but either one would be logical. I think that it’s talking about how she’s dressed because it mentions the shawl right after the metaphor.

  5. Dear Mr. Lester,
Today we learned about scientific hypothesizes today in science. I made one for you.
If you have a “running for congress” ad with your wife in it,
Then you should make sure she doesn’t say cain’t (pronounced k-ay-n-t)
Because you will be laughed at by all the gifted students in Shelby County.

A kid that is still laughing at you,
    Billy Fryer

  6. DIALECTICAL JOURNAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Line : Edward and his crooked smile were just breathtakingly amazing.

Commentary : Well Bella is so truly, madly, deeply in love with Edward so she was having a very strong opinion on his features and was loving the way he was smiling at her at the lunch table as the way she would describe it as is “many butterflies bursting in my stomach”her friend Jessica is dating the guy that has a crush on her so plot twist.

  7. Sure signs of crazy
Sarah was in the car with Charlotte and she asked if she would help make a casserole. “Who died?” Sarah asked. “What do you mean?” replied Charlotte. “Aren’t casseroles like what you bring to stuff when someone dies?!” Sarah said. “No, I have this boyfriend that LOVES baby casserole! (wait, no, I am s00000 sorry, it is ranch chicken casserole… don’t ask questions…) And I am making one for him.”
That is the thing that Sarah said she liked most about Charlotte, she did not think that She might not have time, she just assumed that Sarah had plenty of time.
    That is not all!

  8. Sure signs of crazy
Of course Sarah said she would help make the ranch casserole. (yep that’s right, it’s ranch casserole…) ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿ˜‰
Then when they arrived at the mall, Sarah was walking in the parking lot and right when she caught up to Charlotte her shoe came of and she felt stupid, ๐Ÿ™‚ she could almost see Charlotte’s eyes looking at her over her shoulder. So she practically ran to slip her shoe back on.
When they got home they washed there hands (hopefully) and started preparing.
That is all for today! ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ˜‰

  9. By the way if BOB people asked me what book I would recommend, I would recommend WARRIORS; no. 1 INTO THE WILD

  10. Sure signs of crazy
After Sarah washed her hands they got out the ingredients that the recipe called for And then got to work. Then they started mixing and throwing and stirring. Then Charlotte walked out of the room to check her email, and Sarah thought she could empress her by finishing the next few instructions and in a few minutes she had 3 casseroles in the oven, and some extra time. She then walked into her living room to snoop around and saw a mini bar in the corner, Charlotte’s bar was stacked with books, Sarah thought this was a nice touch.
    One more!

  11. Sure signs of crazy Quote
“I am an unread book, too. I am waiting to know what happens to me…”
Well if a book is unread, you don’t know what is happening. So it means she is stuck and she doesn’t no what to do and she is trying to find out who she is.

  12. Trust me, it doesn’t get any better in middle school
    -an eighth grader

Btw: I would recommend none of them

  15. Now, I had better blog:

Now, I had told you about a new prophecy that Brambleclaw had to do, and he has to travel a long way with 4 other chosen cats. They fight alongside each other and meet cats as they travel to the Sun-Drown Place to see Midnight. As they make the long, tiring trip though Twoleg nests to get there, Thunderclan struggles to survive with lack of prey. Will they survive, or not?

    BUM-BUM-BUMMMMMMMM!!!

  19. Hobbits called the irresponsible twenties between childhood and coming of age at thirty-three.(Tolkien,1999)
the twenties for them are like our teens,so are they saying when we are twenty we are responsible

It beats me why any baggins of hobbiton should go looking for a wife away in buckland , where folks are so queer(Tolkien,1999)
all the hobbits there are calling every body else stupid like they are the best around

you can say what you like, gaffer, but Bag End’s a queer place, and its folk are queerer(Tolkien,1999)
Mr.sandyman is calling bilbo and the group strange ,is it because they are different races or because they are all rich.

The art of Gandalf improved with age.(Tolkien,1999)
as Gandalf gets older his items and wisdom because better

  20. …was nanowrimoing, but mom had to go to some kind of techinal training at church over in greystone, so…

    no nanowrimo. ๐Ÿ™

so, still reading ALL THE LIGHT WE CANNOT SEE by Anothony Doerr, and Paris has already evcuated because Germany has started to bomb it, and Marie Laure traveled through a long way over Paris on foot with The Sea of Fire gemstone with her and her father. meanwhile, over in Germany, Werner has left his orphange to go to the military school for boys who want to go into Hitler’s army.

here’s my creative for the week.

    “Chaos”
    by Blue

    Smaller than small,
Forgotten pieces of life’s great puzzle
There’s more to everything than we all know
But why did God create the Earth so unfair?
I don’t exactly think to care.
I only trust He knows why

    Pictures on the fridge door
You don’t know where he is
Or if he’s even coming back anymore.
Rainbow flags dominate every country now
    Once a promise,
    Now part of a sin.
    Bottles
    And drugs
    You think they’re helping,
Only because you can’t think or feel anymore.
    Sadly mistaken…
That poor child under that bench
wonders what real food tastes like.
That poor girl against the wall
Wonders how she’ll raise the child kicking in her stomach.
    See these things
That are “normal” to us now

    We don’t care…

    Not anymore we don’t…

    But we could…

    And we will.
    ~

well, that’s it for the week. i’ll be doing nanowrimo next week, hopefully.

  21. Hi! My name is grace. Iโ€™m 14 years old and I just got a phone. I go to Shelby county high school. Itโ€™s my first year; my older brother Braxton is already playing basketball. Iโ€™ve got to go watch him play because my mom is making me.
I already have a crush on this dude named gage. Itโ€™s all going good and I get to ride his bus next week. All week Iโ€™m saying thatโ€™s a lot but I hope I get that mean bus driver that makes us sit two to a seat and no skipping.

  22. Line: I want to believe

Commentary: There is a girl named Jessica that lost her leg in a car wreck. She went back to school. She couldn’t do track team with only one leg. Her team got her to come to one of the track team meets. Her track team surprised her with fundraisers to buy her a new leg. A little while later her best friend took her in a room to show her a surprise that a boy at school had for her. He surprised her with videos of below knee amputees running with their prosthetic leg on. She thought that one day that could be her because she is a below knee amputee also. When she got home she rushed over to her mom and sister to tell her about the good news. “My track team is doing fundraisers to buy me a new leg.” Her mom said that it was great news. When her dad came home she started to grab her crutches to go say hi to him. She saw her mom and dad talking to each other. She put her crutches back and tried to hear what they were talking about. She heard her dad talk about how it was so hopeless because the fundraisers weren’t going to help that much because it would take too long to raise that much money. Her prosthetic leg costs 20,000 dollars. She told her friend about what her dad said and that a batting cage took two years to raise enough money. Her friend said “But people care more about you than they did about raising money for the batting cage.” Jessica just thought about it for a while and told the track team to do the fundraiser and came up with the name Help Jessica run. She said the she felt like she wanted to believe in the track team.

    Line: Spirit

Commentary: The track team was going against a different high school in a track competition. The other high school had bigger tracks, faster runners, and better competition. The only thing they didn’t have was school spirit and friendly competition. So if they lost they wouldn’t say congrats or good job or anything they would just say we let you win and walk off pouting. The high school Jessica goes to has a lot better attitude and team spirit.

  23. line: “how do I do this”

commentary: no one answers this question actually this Is at the end of a chapter like very last sentence.

line: “I couldn’t see it I could feel it.”

commentary: If you cant see it than it probably not there.

  24. When I was a kid- Paul George

The first time I beat mg sister in basketball is when I was 17. I could now block her shots.Of course I got my mom to record it.

Even though she was 5 years older Paul George now NBA all-star had finally beaten his sister at 17 years old. It is weird that we always fight with our siblings but our best memories are with them. The whole article was not about Paul but the memories he had with others. Cherish the moments you have, because it can all change in an instant.

  25. Ok here’s a creative response to what I read this week. Alll that I will be saying comes from my book ‘Playing with Purpose’ – the basketball edition, of course.

When Luke Ridnour was at the University of Oregon, he put athletic tape in the doorway so the door wouldn’t lock so he could get in and shoot when he wanted.

I think it’s pretty odd that he would do something like this, and not get caught. You would think that someone would try the doors and get in, cause commotion or chaos, and leave officials demanding an answer to how it happened. Fortunately for Luke, he never got busted, and was able to improve his game.

  26. story time!!!

โ€œWhile Tragedy Bear and Binder Do-Right are engaged in a war to the death,โ€ Kate announced โ€œLetโ€™s all practice voting for Kate! Follow along with Hello Kitty puppet:

    You put your ID in
    You put your ID out
    You put your ID in
And you shake it all about
You vote for Kate a lot
    And you do the robotโ€ฆโ€

Kate was in the middle of the robot dance for her Hello Kitty puppet when the puppet was impaled by the claw of Binder Girl.

    โ€œYou killed my puppet!!!โ€ Kate cried. โ€œThatโ€™s like โ€˜nine lives of yearsโ€™ bad luck.โ€

Binder Girl suspected sheโ€™d just lost the election by staking the beloved god in the form of a puppet to the wall with the claw, the claw intended for Tragedy Bear (and, of course, she did lose the election by a landslide the next day as traumatized kids voted early and often for Kate โ€“ whose final campaign ad of โ€œVote for Me: Iโ€™m Stake Free!!!โ€ not only brought back echoes of her original identify as the Queen of puns and idioms โ€“ it also struck political gold and became sort of the final chapter on โ€œWhat to do when your opponent kills a puppetโ€ โ€“ a chapter that had to be revisited several times over the next few years, tragically).

  27. Line: Normal as cornflakes

Commentary: There is a girl named Jamie. She was in school when her teacher told the class about a boy named Arthur visiting. Her teacher said to “Wear your best clothes, be on your best behavior, and do not shout out unless called on.” When Arthur came to visit Jamie’s teacher had to talk because Arthur couldn’t. Jamie kept putting her fingers in her ears then out of her ears then in her ears again until Ms.Miller, her teacher, sounded like she was speaking Chinese. Jamie told her parents about how she was bored all the time in Ms.Miller’s classroom. In November, Jamie and her parents moved to Traverse City. She liked that school better except she didn’t have any friends. She later moved in with her aunt because her parents died. Jamie said “Normal as cornflakes” because she acted like she didn’t do anything to Jamie’s parents but she was kind of involved in the accident.

Line: This is the only thing that’s clean

Commentary: Jamie was calling someone when her aunt came in the room and asked “Who are you calling?” Jamie put her finger to her lips and told her aunt to be quiet. Her aunt opened the cupboard and asked “Where are all of my dishes?” Jamie forgot that she was supposed to get her aunt some sherbert so she pulled out a gravy boat and her aunt laughed and said “Sherbert in a gravy boat? Well I guess there isn’t a law that says you can’t eat sherbert out of a gravy boat and since that is the only thing that’s clean.” Finally the person that Jamie was calling answered the phone. It was a person that hypnotizes people. Jamie got an appointment with the hypnotizer. Then her aunt dropped the gravy boat and it broke into pieces.

  28. 2 journals, book: Run Away Home

    LINE: “I am not sick!”
Commentary: he scoffed. Sky would have nothing to do with us. Before this happened mama insisted that you need to build up your strength again but your still sick. He still pulled a blanket up to his chin but still refused to anything they said or did trying to help him get better from his sickness but by then all he was doing was tossing food on his head.

LINE: ” Put a little life in your step”
Commentary: Mama said, “It’s the lively way, your to young to know what tired means”. I wanted to say something but I knew Mama doesn’t want me EVER!! Acting sassy. I yawned and stretchedand dragged into the kitchen because I haven’t slept more than a few hours a day but when I got in there I toughened up and sat down and stopped humming and started singing a happy tune while preparing breakfast.
