“fighting chance” – by elizabeth warren – most all autobiographies by successful women are good – the things they overcome in matters of sexism – family – warren’s story was no different – her takes on banks and lending was worthwhile as well – the stories about her parents and their poor health at the end reminded me of parts of my own life – but from juco student to harvard professor to US senator, she’s done a lot
“john muir” – founder of the sierra club – california conservation society – muir grew up with an impossible father – the detail that stood out was that at one point, muir knew all of the NT – memorized – and 3/4ths of the OT – amazing – but head knowledge doesn’t do you good unless you apply it – muir developed a heart for nature – and he fought to protect back when there were no regulations – when regulations got started – enjoyable read
“the nutcracker” – trying to catch up with the sixth grade reading – it was different than i expected – i would think the ballet focuses on the last part of the book – and not the battle in the beginning

guess what I found out this weekend: I found out that Step ny Step was Olive-A’ s song too!!!! I was highly offended and that is on top of the fact that Mr.Maf hasn’t cime up with a nickname for me even after I asked for one in Elementary School!! So I am very disappointed Mr.Maf!!

anyways, still reading…well, yeah, you can probably guess. but Marie Laure is still trying to get outside to see the ocean, and she’s getting worried. several people have visited her Uncle Etienne’e house, asking questions about this mishap that is happening in Paris. Etienne’s maid–can’t exactly remember her name–is a kind lady, and is often the one who speaks with the people who come and go in Etienne’s house, because Etienne is oftten locked himself in his room, doing–goodness knows–something. meanwhile, Werner is taking classes in sience and trigonometery while keeping his sister Jutta updated on his doings in Nazi soldier camp.

Commentary : Apparently this girl is stuck in a place she doesn’t want to be in. She didn’t even do any thing to be in there so there really is no reason for her to be in the mental institution . when you read further into the ‘book’ you see that the only reason she is in their is because she kept having dreams about another girl who looked just like her and a quote from the book is
“She had light red hair like me , almost orange , and was about as tall as me”
Then us sixth-grader-now-seventh-graders came along, and took over everything.

OK I was reading Alice’s Adventuress in Wonderland today and saw a cool quote so i’m gonna use that but read Book of Mordred today
“Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”;Line:”…we’re all mad here.”
Commentary: The Cheshire Cat is challenging Alice’s mind by saying that everyone is mad. He lists convincing reasons that made her( and I) think a little bit about things. The Cheshire Cat is pretty smart which is why he is my favorite character in this story.

when I had left off saying that there was somthing in the cave, I had meant that there were other cats in that cave, who were Tribe cats sent out to kill Sharptooth, the mountian lion. The Tribe cats suggested that they use the Clan cats as bait for Sharptooth, but they let them stay. The next morning, Stormfur’s dead mother told him that he should go back to the other Tribe cats in a dream. So he got up, went back to the cave, and asked for help from the Tribe.
The climax of the “Cirque” series carries through the series. The main plot (the battle between Darren and Steve) is still coming up but is being wavered around the mini stories in place to tell a more illaborate story going up to the main climax. And within the “mini-plots”, there are climatic events that waver up and down (almost like a sound wave) while the main plot line is still growing. So I’ve imagined the entirety of the series as the plot “hill” that we’ve learned in class, but with a smooth wave criss-crossing the central line, though it will stop crossing over at, before, or after the MAIN CLIMATIC event. KInd of hard to keep track of, right.
You could also look at it like this. While Darren has all of these “obsticles” distracting him from what will happen, all of the DISTRACTIONS are leading him towards and into the main climatic event. This trick is a small part of the writing process I think all writters should include in there novels. By having the sub-plots, you can drive the story in a more entertaining way that won’t lose the respected audience. This is a technique that I personally will begin to use. And in the hands of author Darren Shan, a lot more humor and drama can be added to the story.

there was a boy and he was like the bad kid in the story and he always picked this zit and so the teacher said to write her a 5 paragraph essay because he never did good in school and so the teacher was putting a pencil up to his face and so he got mad and chomped it right out of her hand and swallowed it.

it was carl and for some reason when his hand raised the teacher never picked him. it was like he didnt exsist like lets say she would ask about the calvin cycle and he would be the only one to raise his hand and she would be like anyone? and he would just sit there this seems like it would get on his nerves lol
