which has nothing to do with reading – other than that while i read on the treadmill (last week – newsweek, the economist, ny times magazine, sports illustrated and the books of psalms, ecclesiastes, proverbs, and song of solomon – which, by the way, isn’t very grade level appropriate for you young ‘uns out there:)
yes, as i treadmilled away, i thought about the race i’m running this weekend – in mountain brook – a 10k – i know, you wish me luck – ah, thanks:)
as for books, i read “smiles to go” by jerry spinelli – i like other spinelli books better – but i finished – oh, i probably like other spinelli books better b/c i was really the main character in that story – but things went differently for me
i read flush – enjoyed it – i think i like all haison books – although i didn’t like it enough to be a sixth grade summer book – little too elementary how no one died and all turned out okay – by the way, the dad was a loser for what he did to his family
i started “my story” by paula radcliffe – a running biography – a re-read for me – she starts with her childhood – go figure – most biographies do – she had a very dedicated coach – which made me feel guilty when i first read it b/c i’m a lousy coach – but i feel better now that i re-read the book because her coach didn’t have all that i have going on – like being awesome:)
i also had a book from princess pink – who i miss dearly – she gave me a fictional story about running – that i read in like two hours – and absolutely loved – even though it was from 1981 and completely cheesy – but sometimes cheese can be good, right???

I’ve been reading Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty. So far the characters and story is great. The characters are Gozo who is an explorer in training, Bartlett who is the leader of there group, and finally the large ,muscular, and tall guy Jacques who rarely speaks and t talks with glances. They climbed the Gircassian Cliff because of a story thy heard of a forest covered with trees and a small river trickiling through it. They have reached the top to discover the humongous forest. They also heard that if you walk all the way to the end of the forest you will reach the ocean. Which of course is there mission. No one has ever done it but they are going to try it. While staring out at the forest Gozo catches a glimpse of a pale white figure popping up. He tries to convince his friends to go and find out what it is. After arguing with them for a while he convinces them and they head out.
Tuesday: Author’s Purpose–Glass by Ellen Hopkins
Glass is the continued story of Kristina; a typical teenager going through a drug addiction. Being the sequel to Crank, Ellen Hopkins again provides the reader with the intense story that shows how disturbing addictions can really be.
Kristina Snow was just an average girl from Reno, Nevada, until “the monster” took the reins of her life. This book shows the struggle of trying to stay clean and alert, the trials and tribulation of being a good mother, a good daughter and sister, and how substance abuse can push loved ones away.
This book gives the reader a lot of information on the nature of drug addiction.The author wasn’t afraid to show just how bad someone addicted to drugs can get. The book takes you on a journey, that you feel like you are in yourself. Ellen Hopkins does a great job of taking us on this painful trip that was loosely based on her own daughter’s experiences with the monster. The book shows many of today’s life lessons of Kristina’s through good and bad learning experiences.

I have been reading The Adventurers of Tom Sawyer By Mark Twain. I have just finished another chapter and it is almost Summer Break in the book. Anyway exam time is coming up and that is what I am going to blog about. Well the schoolmaster has become very fierce in his punishments right now so the school boys are plotting revenge. They do some little stuff to him and get in trouble for their actions. So finally on Exam Night, for their exam they have to go through a school day with people surveying them. Well, the teacher is writing on the board with a wig on so one of the boys goes in the attic and lowers a kitten down through the roof behind the teachers head. The cat steals his wig.
That is all I have read tonight.
Okay, everything I had just written was deleted and now I’m blogging still on Graceling, my new favorite book. 🙂
Tues.- In the begining Katsa is traveling through the depths of an unknown dungeon, where she seeks grandfather Tealiff, the grandfather and father of the heirs of the Land of the Lienid. He was captured for no reason, she thinks. So she has a grace, as many people do, sort of, like a handfull of the people in the seven kingdoms. Her (Katsa) grace is killing. The seven kingdoms are; Lienid, Wester, Middluns, Sunder, Monsea, Nander, and Estill. Katsa is from the Middluns, she’s the neice of the king, he uses her as a pet, a pet that does what she says because she fears not to. She kills people for him. Because he says to. (I know, I read weird books, but I just can’t stand any other kind than like fantasy! 😛 )
Wed.- She knocks a bunch of guys out and gives them these pills that control them, made by her friend and the kings son. So, she finds grandfather Tealiff and Oll (Kings like comander or whatever) and Giddon (Lord of the Middluns) go and deliver grandfether Tealiff, who is an exauhsted old man. (BTW she runs into a man in the garden of the dungeon and he is a lienid, and he is about twenty years old, and he is graced with fighting, and she didn’t kill him, just knocked him out.) They give him Raffin, the kings son, the one who makes the medicines. He tries to do the best he can and nurse him back to health. But will he succeed?
Thurs.- So the king always, wait let me mention this, gracelings have two different colored eyes and they are feared by EVERYONE but their friends. (Katsa’s eyes are blue and green) So Katsa gets invited to dinner where she meets a lord, and I forget his name, but he actually will look at her eyes, and that makes her happy. But she spots the liened boy and the king keeps talking about her and it makes her angry. You really don’t want to be around her when she’s angry. So she fled the dinnign hall and goes to the archery station or whatever and she takes all of the bobbypins out of her hair and takes off her high heels and she shoots arrows into dummies and the lienid man comes up behind her and she finnaly acknowledges her and he won’t let her by until she tells him about his grandfather, for he is the youngest prince of the Lieneds. So, she says no, and they fight and she actually has a hard time winning even though she wins because he’s a graced fighter. So, she wins and he surrenders and he only surrenders under one condition, she has to tell him where his grandfather is.
So that’s all for this week, and next week I’ll pick up from there! Only 3 more chapters left! BYE!!!!
im reading the harry potter series harry is at uncle vernons house and just got a note from the weaslys asking if harry could come to a quitich championship and they had thought they might not have anought stamps but they did and uncle vernon at first said no but then harry threatened him saying he would write to serous black and that changed his mind and that is all i read tonight i will blof again tomorrow
whoops! i forgot to blog yesterday. so far in the book i am reading called the pilgrims of rayne, pendragon has found himself in a strange paradise like eelong… but only it dosent have taking cats, dionsaurs, or animal humans… and it is on an island. in the flume gate he is in a strange cavern that turns out that the quigs on ibara, the name of the island, are hungrey very mad killer bees. when pendragon is awake after being attacked by about 50 to 80 bees, he finds a woman named tello looking after him and asks him his name… and if he is a flighter. now pendragon has no idea what that is so he gives a mysterious answer that he is only there to help which is true. after a while when he is actually able to walk he is taken away befoe the tribunral or he is basicly arrested. when he is in frot of them he comes up with the idea of having amnesia from all of the bee stings because they are not supposed to know about the travelers, saint dane, the flume, etc. they buy the story and when he is about to be let free he has another brilliant idea he gave them the name of the traveler of ibara and asked if they knew him or if that could be his name. the previous traveler from ibara had died in a TATO match on Quillan. when pendragons luck kicks in the son of remudi comes in and is in trouble agai n because it said they had grown tired of his misbehavoir and were sentecing him to a years hard labor and when pendragon saw him and called catch to him the boy, siry, lifted up his hand and pendragon saw what he wanted to see. a travler ring. he had found the next traveler from ibara.
Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty is starting to become more adventourous and exciting as I am progressing through the story. So….. as I left off on my last blog Gozo persuaded his explorers team to go figure out the white mystery that he saw. They climbed down the cliffs surprised to find out to land in grass and bushes instead of being in the deep and dense forest that lay far away. As they walked through the bushes they came out into the first trees. The more and more they walked the more dark it became from the large trees hanging above. Finally it became pitch dark with trees all above them. All they had with them was there packs and Batlett and Jacques have there machetes to cut through the dense forest. Barlett and Gozo some how got into a conversation about the jaguars that lived in the forest. Of course Gozo being the smallest he is scared after hearing a story about a man getting malled by a jaguar. Thats all I have right now Blog later!

Hunter,Kristina’s baby, falls and gets hurt so she is forced to leave the apartment where she is staying and leaves her son behind.
*opinion–
If she wouldn’t have been irresponsible in the first place and fallen asleep then he would have never gotten hurt, or at least she could have made it not as bad as it was. She is the one who got back on the “monster” and decided to risk herself and her family to danger. It is her fault i think that her son got hurt. I’m not saying she got what she deserved but i do think that it showed how irresponsible she is. I do feel bad for her because her son got taken away from her and that she has no place to stay, but she did bring on to herself, by getting ack on the drug.
*fact–
Kristina is forced to try to find a place to stay since she got kicked out of her last place that she was staying at. She can not go back home because her mother found out that she had gotten back on the drug, and plus her parents would be very upset that she lost her son.
*opinion–
Her parents should be mad at her because its not like she just lost a puppy, she lost a human being,one that can’t take care of himself and barely even knows how to talk.I think she should feel bad about not going home because not only has she shattered her own world but she has shattered her mother’s,sister’s, and step father’s. They loved that baby and helped her take care of him as best as they could. And i do think she had something coming for her like karma or something but i don’t think she shouldv’e had her son taken away from her but its her own fault.

This week I am reading called “Forever Rose”, my Hilary McKay.So far it is about a girl named Rose,this is her 4th book.The others being about her sisters,indigo and caddy.Indigo is 17,and still lives with her. Caddy is twenty three,and moved away a little while ago.Rose isn’t that great in school,but it could just be her teacher. He is awful,he purposely embarrasses the students in front of everyone. And calls students out for doing things that aren’t bad at all. Her mother is in the shed painting all the time, and her dad in london. Her only friend to turn to is Kiran, and their other friend molly. She comes up with this crazy scheme that gets her locked up in a Zoo with a roaring tiger. This book comparest to beach trip because it is all about changing things to bring your friends and family closer. Dear Caddy,Please come home. We all miss you. Mom is depressed, and dads not here. I really need your help. I don’t know what to do. Love,Rose.This book compares to character because rose’s character will soon change,with the burst of inspiaration from being alone at home when she helps molly get in the Zoo.

So then it turns it to a very, very, VERY inappropriate arguing conversation like when Tom sawyer said {You suck eggs!}

Wazzup? Still reading A Ranger Born, learned… things… about the army. One is, when you’re about to train with parachutes, and you’re ready to jump out of a plane, and the jumpmaster is all scared-looking, then he falls out the door, IT’S A TRAP TO MAKE YOU JUMP. Then, when you are on the ground, he laughs at you and tells you how bad you did, then laughs so hard, milk squirts out his nose. Eww. Then Black talked about the 1st rangers, after going thru a phase where, instead of filing the papaers like he’s supposed to, he perfects his paper basket ball skills 😉 then one day, Mr. Bossman said,”File this.” Black then made a three point shot :). Half an hour l8r, Bossman comes back, needing the ‘game ball.’ Whoops. They decide he’s not clerk material. Then, oddly enough, they give him a promotion to the Rangers. Oh yeah, about the history of Rangers 😛 The Rangers started when European settlers came to America and saw Indians. Then they stole the Indians tactics, and have been used ever since. Umm that’s all.
TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY-Perfect
tuesday: authors purpose
I am reading Perfect. I think the authors purpose of this book is to address the problems of “being over weight” and depression. Alot of teemagers these days have eating disorders. And instead of doing the right thing and start healthy eating habits and exercising, they make them selves throw up or just not eat at all. They do this because they think they are ugly or too fat. So I think the message of this book is going to be that you need to be proud of what you look like and try not to be like everybody else. People may say how flawless the people in magizines are but they have been edited so its not really 100% them. That just goes to say that nobody can be perfect. Maybe, thats how they got the name of this book. Nobody can be perfect even though it may seem like they are. Everyone makes mistakes. You dont need to have the idea that you have to look a certain why. Just be yourself and be proud of it.
wednesday: characters
The main characters in Perfect so far are Issabale, her mom, her sister(Ape Face), and Ashley. Lets start off with Issabale. She is a teenage girl, her dad just died, her mother is depressed, her sister is driving her crazy, and to top it off, she has a eating disorder. She has alot of problems in her life and she doesnt know how to deal with them. Her mom is crying herself to sleep everynight and then dealing with two tennage girls during the day without a spouse. That shows that she is a strong woman. Her sister is trying to get attention by annoying Isszy and hogging her mother. She may feel like it is her time to be the center of attention bc when her dad was alive, Izzy was the favorite. Ashley is the popular girl at Izzys school. Izzy would have never of guessed that she would be in her eating disorder therapy class but she is. I am thinking that they will start to be friends and help each other get over their problems. Maybe that will happen, that would be good.
Book: Orel Hershiser
The author’s purpose is to describe how Orel gets dressed before a game and the protection he wears. It says that first, Orel puts on some long-legged underwear that covers all the way, even below the knees. Then, he puts on his jockstrap, then comes the cup. He explains how important it is to wear a cup, especially if your pitching. He says that he always wears a cup, because he never knows when a line-drive hitters creams the ball at him and he doesnt put his glove down in time, and that it could really injure him. He says that before the game, the team always has a batting and pitching review and practice. He said that he leaves the cup in the locker room and then he pulls on a long-sleeve sweat shirt. Then, he pulls on 2 pairs of sanitary stockings, then his stirrups and an elastic band about 2 inches thick that goes around his calf and holds his stockings and stirrups together. And last but not least, his uniform shirt and pants. When warming up for batting practice, he leaves his game hat in the locker room and gets his batting gloves, helmet, and probably 3 bats. After batting practice is over, Orel puts on some gym shorts and a t-shirt and relaxes by watching TV before the game. This is how Orel Hershiser usually gets dreesed on game days.
The book i am reading relates to In Due Time because in both books, it tells how these two amazing athletes get dressed and prepare for their games. Jay Barker would also relax and watch TV before a big game too, just like Orel Hershiser. I think it relaxes their muscles so they wont be worn out for their big match. It prepares them. In both books, the protagonists explain wjat it is like to work hard at their sport and what it take to become who they are. Jay Barker and Orel Hershiser are alike because both of the players talk about their LORD and SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST and how GOD works in their lives. They both pray before a game for safety, and good sportsmanship. Both of these books are really great books and anyone who reads my blogs should read these books too.
i’ve been reading stars of the kanre which i written by my third cousin which i think that’s pretty cool. anyway its really good. its a sci-fi book. i haven’t read a whole lot in it so i will do a journal on the book i finished on the 20th, Pillage which is also cool, but not written by someone related to me (that i know of). anyway the two books compare, so far, because they both are about someone going somewhere strange and outlandish and then they get into trouble and almost get killed and/or maimed. also, they include strange creatures that no one ever knew existed, and both characters deal with lack of the ability to show emotions towards people they like/love/whatever. that’s basically all the similarities i can think of at this exact moment.

I am reading Number The Stars and it is really good. A summary of the book is that a girl named Ann marie and her friends and family are in World War 2 in Denmark. The germans have takn over the countr and they don’t like it. Ann Marie’s older sister died in a car crash a year before. they wish the germans will leave.

I think the author’s purpose of the book is to inform and to entertain. I think this because the book tells you what it was like in world war 2,but it is also a very entertaining book. I also think the genre is realistic fiction becausethe book could be based on a real thing.
Thursday
The book relates to change because ann maries’ family changes through the book. Like ann maries’ older sister’s fiance wasn’t as happy since she died. Now he is calm and not so playful. Well that’s all I’ve read, bye.
Of course like I said in my last blog Bartlett and the Forest of Plenty is getting alot better as they work on there adventure.So….. they are still walking to find the mystery that Gozo found. When I left off they were walking through the scary forest. They stop to eat, Jacques drops his pack and runs toward a tree. In amazement they watch him skim the tree to grab fruit that was on the branches hanging. While he is doing that Bartlett and Gozo eat a hard biscuit. Jacques comes down with pocket and shirt stuffed with bubbly looking fruit. They grab the mangos and open them to eat the sweet flesh of it. They stand up and Bartlett tells him that tommorrow they will head to the river so they can find the ocean. Then Jacques brings up that they should make a raft out of trees and vines. Then Bartlett says that it would be hard to because there would be alligators. Now Gozo is scared of the alligators instead of jaguars.
okey dokey then well lets see did i mention to u yet that i hate twilight u should be jumping up and down in awe or something but yet i told makayla and it had no effect whatsoever on her!!!! uhhhhh maybe itll have some effect on u but idk n e wayz! ive been readin vampire diaries the retun volume 1 nightfall. it is sooo awesome sooooo far! it starts out with elena not being able to talk whatsoever cuz when she came back from the dead she forgets how to do a lot of things and she only remembers stefan! stefan has to train her in a way until she can remember how to write and talk and things like tht! well when it’s been a lil while and elena has improved stefan invites bonnie meredith matt and even caroline over but everyone is wrried that she’s doin this to possibly expose elena but trust me tht is not at all how this book is gonna go. elena is considered a spirit angel right now b/c she can float and she can still use white magic which is very powerful. since elena has been threw practically everything, any and every vampire is attracted to her b/c she has such strong power and so much magic along with beauty. gonna pick this up on wednesdays journal! :))
kk so elena is like this angel that no vampire could ever resist which makes damon want to go back to his old self of haunting her until she is his princess of darkness. so n e wayz matt bonnie meredith and caroline come over for their visit and lets just say things do not go as planned. when elena sees them she doesnt recognize them and to remember someone she must kiss them. so elena goes straight up to caroline and kisses her on the lips which sets caroline completely off the edge. she runs to the bathroom but not b4 she has a complete panic attack/ meltdown in front of everyone then she heads to the bathroom. she’s in tears over this but something is up with caroline cuz elena can sense it. the other night damon had been watching her threw the window sitting on top of a tree well in a branch n e wayz. but caroline began tlking to her mirror which was the first problem b/c that could be watz possesing her. but back on the whole elena caroline kiss thing. when caroline comes storming back into the room she begins calling elena all these names ht i dare not mention on this sight. especially when she sees elena kissing meredith. but u gotta keep in mind tht this is the only way elena can remember who they all are and matt especially enjoyed his kiss when it was his turn and bonnie just got pushed away cuz elena was upset by caroline and didnt want n e one else mad at her. but finally stefan asks caroline to leave and she does but not iwhtout tryin to eavesdrop from outside the door and she heard the full conversation between meredith bonnie and stefan about her bein this whole thing i cant say either. she comes storming back in and calls elena more names the she begins to use her possessers magic. so now its like a battle between caroline and elena. white magic versus dark magic! and i’ll pick up with this on thursdays journal!!!

kk so of course elena wins cuz at the end of the day the purest magic will always win lolz but yes then caroline is down on the floor in the end and so is elena. neither one of them got hurt but it was definately a not so pleasant battle. so they escort (they being matt meredith and bonnie) caroline home. the next day carolines mother said she was sick when n e of the people she had been with that last night were calling. everything had become suspicious! well that night bonnie spent the night with meredith and a disturbing awakening was what to come at about 4 in the morning maybe earlier….. bonnie was hanging over merdith with this weird look on her face. when meredith woke up to it bonnie went over to where merediths phone was and started screaming this gibberish into the voice recorder then when she was finally finished and merdith got over her shock of horror meredith went and grabbed her phone went to the other room and played the message. it was too loud to understand so she plugged it to her computer and interpreted it. it was pretty frightening but it was a series of events that would occur in elenas life in the future. what was to come was truly understandable but yet at the same time uninterpretable which is pretty confusing but ull find out more about it next week when i blog to the awesome maf that u kno u r lolz!! 🙂 🙂
“Live Like You Were Dying” I Love this book!! Its Amazing! It really makes you think about how fast we live life and we never take the time to just stop and breath. Ohh and from last week I figured out what “Living to work or Working to live” Means. I figured out by putting one of my hobbies in it. Cheering to live or Living to Cheer So it means either Working to live: Working just enough to live and have a happy life
Living to work: are just here on earth to work and not living your life. That makes since b/c Nathan all he does is work and never has time for family. That would be why his wife (whos mad) would say that. So back to what I have read this week Nathan was at work and he had to work extra hours b/c one of his workers didn’t show up for work b/c of “Family death” so Nathan had to work his shift. While he was working a double shift something broke up in one of the pipe things.. i don’tknow they used big fancy words that have no meaning to me so ur gonna get what I got out of it.. He was up there with a new guy who was terrified of heights and was clinging to the safty bar not even watching Nathan. As Nathan leaned in to the big hole with his gas mask and tools at hand his gas mask started fogging up with every breath he took. Soon he couldn’t even see anymore. As he went to climb out to defog his mask he slipped and plumented into the tunnel being slamed against the pipes walls he finally hit a safty gate. He woke up in the hospital with his wife at his side holding his hand crying. That was a wake up call for him. It would have beena wake up call a LONG time ago!! Like when I missed my little girls Kendergarten Graduation. It just goes to show guys have a hard head and they greatly need women to keep them on track.

1. The author’s purpose of “The New Breed” is to explain the way that the CIA/Military Counterintelligence works. It is also to explain how the US intelligence got involved in the new Republic of the Congo, and why the were concerned about the things that were happening in the country. It is also to entertain the War loving/action loving/bored reader who needs something good to read. And if you are one of those people this book does its job, as long as you dont mind some language and other gruesome details it does its job well.

We know about you and your operation “Eagle” that is planned for you to watch me and my actions. I would like you to back off, or I will attack your idiot spies, and they will never return to see their families. All I want is to back off, and I will not kill them, but I would also like to receive 100,000 USD for my discomforts they have caused, as well as the business I have lost because of them. 3. This book has many different examples of character, for instance the character of Colonel Sandy Felter. He has been developed as a strong minded, loving and well prioritized life. Also, Lieutenant Colonel Craig Lowell has been developed, as a Stuck up, mean, but fun guy who has a lot of money. These characters are also like many characters in many other books.
4. The facts are… Lowell was put in a place in STRICOM (Strike force communications) so that Colonel Felter could relay information to both his agents and other top officials in the area. Also, Karl-Heinz Wagner was sent back to Germany, but as a agent for Colonel Felter who will be moving to a Construction Company so that he can keep an eye on Micheal Hoare. Felter was also trying to find 2 pilots who were able to speak French as well as being able to fly many different types of aircraft including multi-engine planes and Helicopters. One of the men he found was John Peirre’s son, who can speak French, Swahilli, and English. He can also fly all types of aircraft that are required, but he refused to go to the Congo, for fears of his family being murdered by the locals, who absolutely hate military personal.
Opinions: Wow, Felter is a smart guy who certainly knows how to set up an operation and how to get his people in their places, and somehow still be able to talk to them and receive up to date information. I have no idea what Swahilli even sounds like, and so Im amazed that a half American-Half Belgian can speak that and French as well as English. Not only is he bilingual but he can fly many types of airplanes. And I am impressed with the way that he says that he will desert if they try to send him to the Congo because the Congolese will murder his family.
Overall Portet is an impressive man, who knows what is right, knows what will happen, and knows how to prevent the terrible things.

But, I see what the author means by this, she is saying her and her sister dont have the relationship that sisters should have. I have experienced this with my sister. She has gotten on my nerves so bad that I wish she wasnt my sister but she always will be.

*opinion- “Group is my punishment” If I has a child that was so upset with herself that she didnt eat, I would try to help her myself instead of sending her to a group discussion that could make her pick up the bad eating habits that the others have. The fact that she is so upset about her self that she doesnt want to eat, would make me want to talk to her and make her eat healthy or send her to a doctor and then send her to a class.

*opinion- Ashley asks Izzy to not tell anyone at school about her problem, but at school she acts like she doesnt know you exist. I know a few people that do that to others. I think the character, Ashley, is going to be a little two faced at first then she is going to realize that she doesnt need to do that. I think she will also change in the story, so she will be a static character, which means she changes throughout the story. (I think that is what that is, static and round characters?) At the beginning she is going to be to full of herselft to actually talk to Izzy bc she is a popular kid andd popular kids arent supposed to talk to ‘wierd’ kids but I am predicting that they will end up hanging out together and maybe helping each other with their eating problems.

*opinion- “This is advanced English. ADVANCED. You should know these things” Alot of teachers do this to thier advanced classes. I agree with some parts of this and then disagree with some. You should know more than the average student to be in advance bc that is what it means to be in an advanaced class. But, on the other hand, anybody could cheat on the placement test and end up taking the spot of someone that is actually smarter than them and didnt cheat and got a few points lower than them on the test. That is sometimes what happens I think.
I am not very far in the book i am reading now so i will use another book i have read. later in the pendragon series siry has just been identified as a traveler by pendragon and since he does not want to do labor he is sentenced to be pendragons keeper out side of the tribunral siry tries to leave pendragon saying that he doesnt care about his fathe remudi and he doesnt care about pendragon ethier but then pendragon stops him right in his tracks by telling him that his father was dead. siry turns around and has tears in his eyes and then pendragon says that he died in what he belived in …. what do you belive in. thats when siry leads him out into the jungle and leads him to a trap and they bring him to a jungle junkyard. then pendragon almost has him when siry says bring out this demon… bring him to me and then pendragon stops him dead in his tracks by saying ” hes already here”. then he is almost free by convincing by sirys friend twig but siry stops her. then whenpengragon is offered a chance to join sirys group, the jakills, he accepts… then he has to steal a ship… he has to become a pirate.
Book: Orel Hershiser
A summary of what i just read is about how Orel Hershiser never gave up when he got put down. Orel Hershiser was golfing with some friends on the North Country Club golf course. Then, suddenly, Orel Hershiser collapsed. Orel got up and him and his friends went to go grab a sandwich. Orel starting feeling sick, thinking that it was food poison. He told his friends that he was fine, and continued to have fun. A couple hours later he felt sick again and told his friends that he probably needed to get home. When he got home, he passed out in the bathroom after he threw up and his wife and his brother that was in town rushed him to the hospital after his wife called the team doctor and did exactly what he ordered. When he got to the hospital, he figured out thathe had to have his appendix removed. He couldnt play baseball for a couple of weeks, but, instead, he took it like a man and never gave up. Instead of having to wait for about a month or maybe two, Orel returned to the team about 5 days later. The fourth day after the operation, Orel was doing sit-ups, jumpin jacks, and sometimes he would even sneak out and run the fire escape stairs! Orel never gave up.
im still reading harry potter and the weaslys just came over to the durslys to pick up harry and they used this powder to teleport through a chimny and there was a fake fire place in front of it so mrs weasly had to blow it to bits and fred and george just went up with harry to get his stuff and hopefully see dudly on the way. that is all i read tonight

I have recently began reading the Storytime by: Edward Bloor. So far its pretty awesome, even though I am not that far into it. A girl named Kate and her uncle that is two years younger than her, recieved a letter that said that they have just been excepted into one of the top schools in the state: Whittaker Magnet School. Kate’s Uncle George really wants to attend the school, but Kate does not. Kate does not want to attend Whitraker Magnet School, because she wants to have the lead role in her school play: Peter Pan. That about it… BYE!

Brock here, and I’v been reading Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. What just happened? Oh, yeah. Neb just got hit in the ocean right? Well, he grabs a rope that so ironicly was dropped by the ship above him. So, with all his strength (and breath) he climbs aboard. I have not read much, but I have read enough to appreciate and be bewildered, bewuddled, and bethawed. I mean, the way God was in his life by giving him the blessings of good judgement, good friends, and a stable mind. That’s Mir being captivated by this amazing story of Shaun Alexander.

Brock again and I’m reading Castaways of the Flying Dutchman. I think the author wrote this book because he wanted to entertain the people with a good sea-loving story about the captain of the worst ship in the history of the seas. He most likely wrote this because of his passion towrite and entertain. The way heuses his words he makes it sound in that time frame as well. Well, that’s it for the UFC Heavyweight Champ.

Mir here.. I love doing that. Anywhatchamajigger, I was wondering what would have happened to Shaun if he made 1 wrong choice. Would he now be in Mexico being king of drug cartel? Maybe he would’ve ended up like OJ Simpson. One of the reasons I ask this is he stayed faithful and beleived his whole life and look at him now a millionaire with a great family. If he didn’t stay true he may have ended up in jail or dead because that once can become ten then one hundred then one thousand then a million. My point is there isn’t a way to have an alternate endind in life, so why mess it up on purpose? Mir over and out. Shazz

Tom Sawyer is trying to help Muff Potter while he is in jail. Tom finally tells tells the true story of what happened violating his pact with Huckleberry FInn. The true story is that while Muff was with Injun Joe at the graveyard with a doctor, meanwhile Injun Joe is just robbing a grave, that is all. Muff falls and gets knocked out. Joe takes Muff’s knife and kills the doctor with the knife, but puts the knife in his hand so it looks like Muff killed the doctor. Muff wakes up and Joe makes up a story that muff was drunk and killed the doctor himself. that is all.
Haaaaay! (it’s for horses:))A Ranger Born is starting to get interesting. Now, Black’s talking about the Chinese Rangers, the ones that butcher troops by walking into post with captured South Korean armor and captured American guns, then bayoneting troops in their sleeping bags (cheap shots). Umm, most is not really anything more than description, so i will talk about Alex Rider : Crocodile Tears. First, it talks about Ravi Chandra, or, rather, his plan to destroy a nuclear plant for money. He thinks, “Oh, I’ll just set the bomb and walk out.” Whoops, the timer was ‘acidentally’ set to blow aproxximatley (big words! they will be the death of us all!) 1 point 2 seconds after the switch is flipped. Big explosion, many U.N. Forces passing out medication and radiation masks, riots in the streets, ect. Then we go to Alex Rider, the child spy. He is gearing up for a New Year’s party. Will he spy there? I don’t think so, more like meet an ex-boxer with a smashed jaw and billions of dollars and euros (european money). Does he fight? Nope, he apparently starts gambling with him. Hey Mafeld, enjoy my pepping in the rally today? 🙂 Anyway, I started a new book called Skulduggery Pleasant: Playing With Fire. It’s pretty good. It’s the 2nd book of 3, I think.
It’s about a society of “people” who use their powers to fight against eachother. The good guys, Skulduggery and Valkyrie (the main good guys), are trying to stop Baron Vengeous and his minions from raising the Grotesquery from the dead. The Grotesquery is an unkillable monster (how did it die???) assembled of the most fearsome beasts of legend. Baron is the classic villian, someone who got into worshiping these “gods” called the Faceless Ones…why would you worship them if they’re not powerful enough to keep their faces??? 🙂 But Baron worshipped them and gained powers from this.
He has been able to strengthen them, and now he needs to get the armor of Lord Vile to be able to raise the Grotesquery. Pretty predictable; that’s such a classic bad guy. As soon as he raises the Grotesquery, he can rule the world and become the most powerful person in history.
That’s as far as I’ve gotten.

I am reading A Dream now by Edgar Allan Poe because I was reading The Adventurers of Tom Sawyer but I got lost in it. and a dream is a poem with sixteen stanzas.
this poem is about not dreaming because when he dreams it is torture.
like he had visions of dark nights and he had a dream that his joy has departed
and by that i think he means that every thing good, important, and valuable thing in his life just left him
and he is miserable because he says that he is broke hearted.
to me this poem is very dark and gothic but just about all of his poems and stories are just about the same any way

Book Orel Hershiser
The author’s purpose is to tell how Orel messed up his college, but fixed it. Orel graduated at Bowling Green. He said that if he didnt study for a test or an exam, that he would just not attend school. He said that he would get drunk (this was before he was saved) at a party and would just sleep in and not attend school because he was so drunk. His parents wouldnt be too happy if they knew. Everything was going wrong for the poor guy… his girl friend broke up with him, somehow he survived the first semester, basball season was about to start but he was inelegible to play academically, and he wasnt prepared for the finals. The only place he was able to go to now because of what all has happened was home. He made the toughest phone call in his life and got home as soon as possible. He was wondering how he would face his parents whom he loved. After summer school, he played on a team that won the All American Amateur Baseball Association national championship. This is how Orel screwed up, but made a change.
A summary of what i read is about how Butch Wickensheimer led Orel Hershiser to Jesus Christ and how he led him to being save by the Lord. Orel said that him and a couple of other players on the team would kid around about Butch’s religious faith. Everyday, Butch read his Bible. Everyday. Orel said that the only days that he went to church was on Easter and Christmas. One day, Orel asked Butch what he “saw” in the Bible. Butch responded “Everything. The Bible tells us how much God loves us and how we can know Him. It’s God’s gift to man.” Orel never read his Bible. As a matter in fact, Orel stored his bible in the bottom drawer of his dresser. From then on, Orel would just ask questions for Butch, and he would answer all of them. Orel kept trying and kept trying to prove Butch wrong, but Butch always had an answer. Finally, Orel comitted that he was a sinner, and asked the Lord into his heart. The first time in a long time he had talked to Him.
I am now reading the novel called cell by steven king. So far clay a man who probably just hit a good comic book sale was now walking about when he heard a yelp of a dog. he turned and there was a man literally biting the dogs ear. then things turned crazy the woman in a power suit in front of her dropped her coffee and started attacking the man who sold her the coffee. he then meets up with a man tom and they figure out all the people that turned crazy had cell phones. then they all go to a hotel and meet up with a teenager named alice and meet with one of the hotel employees named ricarrdi. they then find out that there is a crazy person upstairs and then they quickly leave but ricarrdi refuses to leave his post. when they later come back in the story they find out that he has hanged himself. so on that cheerful note i will end the blog. see ya’ll. ; ) 🙂 8 D

I recently finished the book Eclipse. You know those Twilight books you claim you “don’t like.” JK! Anyways. I am now moving on to the book PERFECT. I started reading this book because I was at books a million and Stormie said I should read this. Anyways this book is about a girl who is Bulimic and her sister “Ape Face” or April walks in on her in the bathroom throwing up and she went and told her mom even though Isabelle, the main charactar told her not to. And now she goes to group. 🙂

Now the reason she went to group or is bulimic is because she thinks she is fat because of all the bad stuff in her life makes her eat. Even though she isn’t. Her dad died just recently and now she feels that she i ugly and grows even though she isn’t. Once she is at group she meets a bunch of new people especially this one girl named Ashley Barnum. Ashley Barnum goes to her school and is the most popular girl in school. Even though she is popular she doesn’t let it go to her head. She is nice to everyone she meets and that is why everyone loves her and wants to be like her. 🙂
Wednesday 1/27/10:
One day at group after the journal excercises, Ashley Barnum and Isabelle get paired up together for another excercise. This excercise is for one person to tell something they hate about themselves and the other compliments about what they hated and turned it into something good about them. So they get to talking and they become friends. Now that they have so much in common, Ashley decides to leave Isabelle her number and Isabelle is shocked. So when she gets home she thinks about calling, but she doesn’t because she thinks that Ashley will think she is strange and that is all I have read so far I cannot wait to read some more. 😀
