1st Sem. Exam Rev. Guide
Students were reminded of their dates for the 1st Semester Exam and what they needed; 1st & 2nd Qtr Review Guides and a pencil. They were given the entire period to complete the Review Guides. Study, Study and Study!!!
Electrons in Atoms
Students turned in the Electron Configurations WS (66 pts) and Electron Dot Models WS (30 pts). They then took the Electrons in Atoms Voc. Test (60 pts) and Chapter Test (100 pts). They were allowed to work on the 1st Sem. Exam Rev. Guide (100 pts) after the test.
Electrons in Atoms
Students received a Bronze grade for copying the notes on the chapter from the Powerpoint that was put on Google Classroom. We then worked examples of the types of Electron Configuration with the Electron Configurations WS (68 pt). They were given the Electrons in Atoms Crossword Puzzle (50 pts) for homework to prepare for the Vocabulary and Chapter Test on tomorrow.
Electrons in Atoms
Students continued taking notes on Electrons in Atoms as we learned how to write electron configurations and covered Hunds Rule, Aufbau Principle and Pauli Exclusion Principle. They were reminded to pick up the 1st Sem. Exam Rev. Guide and of the Vocabulary test tomorrow.
Electrons in Atoms
We continued discussions on the quantum model of the atom w/the contributions of the deBroglie, Schrodinger, and Heisenberg to explain the nature and existence of the electrons in atoms. Students have been reminded of the Voc. Test on Thursday, and Chapter Test on Friday as well as their 1st Sem. Exam Rev. Guides.
Electrons in Atms
We continued taking notes and discussing the theory of light as a particle and how it is proven w/experiments from Einstein and its effect on the atomic theory. The Electrons in Atoms Voc. Test will be on Thursday of this week and chapter test on Friday. Students may pick up their 1st Sem. Exam Review Guide any day this week to prepare for their 1st Semester Exam. All students were reminded to get their makeup tests done for the 2nd 9 Weeks.
Electrons in Atoms
Students learned how to explain the relationship between color and energy in the wave theory of light and the electrons. We finalized class by emphasizing the importance of being in class the next week to prepare for the chapter test and semester exams.
