We went over the PPT notes on how Ionic Compounds are formed, ionic charges and how to use the Periodic Table to determine bond type.
ACT Aspire Test
All 10th grade science students took the ACT Aspire Test today as mandated by the Alabama State Department of Education. All other Chemistry students completed the Ionic Compounds Review Questions WS (60 pts)
Elements
Chemistry students took the Elements Chapter Test and began the Ionic Compounds Voc. (66 pts)which is due tomorrow.
Elements
Students took the Elements Voc. Test (36 pts) and completed the Elements Ch. Assessment (92 pts). They will have the Elements Chapter Test on Tomorrow.
Elements
Students completed the last slide of the Elements PPT. They then took the Elements Voc. Test (40 pts) and began the Elements Study Guide (90 pts). They will have the Elements Chapter Test on Monday.
The Elements
Students completed the Elements Notes and had the Crossword Puzzle for homework. They will have the Elements Voc. Test tomorrow and Chapter Test on Monday.
Nonmetal Groups and Magnetism
Students completed the final groups of nonmetals and their uses from the Periodic Table using the PPT. They were assigned the Crossword Puzzle for homework, which will aid them in studying for the Elements Voc. Test on Thursday and Chapter Test on Friday.
Carbon & Nitrogen Families
We continued with the PowerPoint and uses of the Carbon Family and Nitrogen family, their group characteristics and uses. What an allotrope and how minerals are related to the elements were also discussed. We are building towards a Elements Voc. Test on Thursday and Chapter Test on Friday.
The Elements
Students began to learn the chemical properties of Groups 1 & 2 of the Periodic Table. We also went over the uses of the various elements in the groups.
