Students took notes from the PowerPoint on Elements and blocks of the Periodic Table w/their characteristics.

Students took the Periodic Table & Periodic Law Chapter Test and were assigned the Elements Vocabulary (44 pts) for homework.

Students were allowed to finish the Periodic Table and Periodic Law Chapter Assessment (92 pts). We reviewed their answers and they were to have finished the Element Symbols WS (100 pts)without the Periodic Table first, then use it to find the symbols that they were unfamiliar with. They will have the Periodic Table and Periodic Law Chapter Test on Tomorrow.

Students will complete the Periodic Table and Periodic Law Chapter Assessment (92 pts) in class today. They will also have the Voc. Test on the same material tomorrow in class as well as review the material. They will have the Chapter Test on the Periodic Table and Periodic Law on Wednesday.

Students began the Periodic Table and Periodic Law Chapter Assessment (92 pts).  They will have the Periodic Table and Periodic Law Voc. Test on Monday when they return.  They will complete the Periodic Table and Periodic Law Chapter Test on Tuesday.

Students finished the information on trends with atomic and ionic size on the Periodic Table.  They were introduced to electronegativity and ionization energy.  Finally, students completed the notes from the Periodic Table and Periodic Law chapter and completed the Periodic Table and Periodic Law SNF (42 pts).  They will have the Periodic Table and Periodic Law Voc. Test when they return.

Students learned the difference in ionic and atomic radii, the trends of atomic and ionic radii in periods and groups and how atoms form ions.  We concluded the lesson in determining ionization energies and their trends on the periodic table.

We continued to finish the data on the blocks of the Periodic Table.  Then, we discussed, explained and examined the trends of atomic and ionic radii in the groups and periods of the Periodic Table.

Students continued taking notes on the blocks of the periodic table, major types of elements, valence electrons and how the periodic table helps w/valence electrons and characteristics of the blocks.

Students were taught to differentiate between groups/periods, the names of the major groups of elements, the three major types of elements on the periodic table and how to locate them, characteristics of metals and nonmetals, and what valence electrons are.
