Ionic Compounds
3rd - Completed the Ionic Compounds Word Search (36 pts), then began the Ionic Compounds Chapter Assessment (97 pts) which was assigned for homework. The period ended with the students taking the Ionic Compounds Voc. Test (50 pts). The Ionic Compound Chapter Test will be tomorrow.
7th - Students took the Polyatomic Ion Test 2 (20 pts), worked on and completed the Ionic Compounds Word Search (36 pts), and began the Ionic Compounds Ch. Assessment (97 pts). They concluded class with the Ionic Compounds Voc. Test (50 pts). They will also have the Ionic Compounds Ch. Test on tomorrow.
Ionic Compounds
3rd - took the 2nd Polyatomic Ion Test (20 pts) and answered the "Naming Ionic Compounds - combined WS (50 pts) and Writing Ionic Compounds -Combined WS ( 50 pts)
7th - Had the first Polyatomic Ion Test (24 pts) and finished taking notes on the Ionic Compounds Chapter. They also were given the SNF for Ionic Compounds For homework.
Polyatomic Ions
3rd - had a Polyatomic Ion Poptest and finished the notes in the chapter on Ionic Compounds which covered Metallic Bonds and their properties.
7th - Students learned how to write Ionic Compounds with Polyatomic ions (50 pts) and completed another worksheet on Naming Ionic Compounds with Polyatomic Ions (50 pts).
Polyatomic Ions
3rd - Students watched a podcast on how to write Ionic Compounds with Polyatomic Ions. Then they answered practice problems on the board. Finally, they answered the worksheet, "Naming Ionic Compounds with Polyatomic Ions" (50 pts)
7th - Students read the notes on Polyatomic ions. Then they were given the 17 polyatomic ions, their symbols and their charges. Then they began to learn how to name polyatomic ions in compounds. (50 pts)
Nomenclature of Ionic Compounds
3rd - Students were given a list of the top polyatomic ions, their symbol, and charges to learn and memorize. They will have a test on them next week. Also, they took notes from the Ionic Compounds PPT on how to name and write Ionic Formulas with Polyatomic Ions. They began and completed a worksheet "Naming Compounds Containing Polyatomic Ions" (50 pts).
7th - We watched a podcast on Naming and Writing Formulas with Polyvalent (transition) elements. Then we completed a worksheet on "Naming Ionic Compounds with Polyvalent Compounds" (50 pts) and "Writing Compounds with Polyvalent Elements" (50 pts).
Polyvalent Names and Formulas
3rd - Students watched a YouTube podcast on naming ionic compounds with polyvalent ions. (Transition Metals). We worked through several examples of writing Polyvalent Formulas and then naming compounds with transition elements. Class ended with students getting a worksheet on "Naming Ionic Formulas with Polyvalent Ions" and "Writing Chemical Formulas with Polyvalent Ions" (50 pts each)
7th - Students went over the notes on naming Ionic Formulas and answered a "Naming Ionic Formulas" WS (50 pts), then we observed a YouTube podcast on Writing Ionic Formulas. Then after working through several examples, students got a "Bonding & Chemical Formulas" Ws (100 pts) and Writing Ionic Formulas (50 pts)
Chemistry
We continued the PowerPoint on the Ionic Compounds.
Ionic Compound Properties
Students continued to view the PowerPoint and discuss the properties of ionic compounds. We also began to discuss how to determine dissociation in ionic compounds.
Ionic Compounds
Today, we continued the powerpoint in discussing properties of Ionic Compounds. We specifically covered properties of ionic compounds and how they for crystal lattices.
