Students were allowed to review concepts on valence electrons and how to determine charges on ions from the Main Groups. Electronegativity, ionization energy and electron affinity were discussed.

Ionic Compounds
We completed the "Ionic Compounds" Review Questions (60 pts) in class today. Soon after, we began covering the notes and information in the same chapter.
The Elements
Students took the "Elements" Chapter Test (100 pts) and began the "Ionic Compounds" Voc. (66 pt). The vocabulary is due tomorrow.
Elements
Students answered the questions on the "The Elements" Crossword puzzle (34 pts) without their textbook, then were allowed to answer the missed questions. Soon after, they took "The Elements" Vocabulary Test (40 pts). They will have "The Elements" Chapter Test on tomorrow.

Students began and were to finish the Elements Sec. Rev. WS (92 pts). They will have a crossword puzzle and Vocabulary Test on tomorrow. the Elements Chapter Test will be on Thursday for 3rd Period and Wednesday for 7th period.

Students began work on the "Elements" Sec. Rev. WS (90 pts) and completed in for homework. They were made aware of the Elements Voc. Test on Tuesday and Ch. Test on Wednesday.

We continued taking and comparing notes from the students outlines with the teachers notes from the PowerPoint on "the Elements". We covered the Elements in groups 3A -6A in terms of uses and main group characteristics.

After reviewing the key concepts of Groups 3A-6A, we continued the comparison in Groups 7A, 8A and began key Transition Elements.

Continuing to review the Main Group elements key characteristics and uses of major elements, we finished the Transition element keys and elements. Magnetism and metallurgy were discussed using key elements in the Transition Elements.
Elements
We continued the PowerPoint presentation covering groups 3A - 5A, their characteristics and their uses. Emphasis was placed on uses and locations of the elements in compounds.
S-Block Elements and Uses
Students turned in the notes on Sec. 1 & 2 from the homework. We compared notes from the students to the notes from the PPT on Elements and the chapter.
Elements
26 - Students were able to answer the "Elements" Review Questions from the Worksheet to preview the chapter. We also discussed the objectives and results in the "Balloon" Lab.
27 - Students read and outlined the notes and key concepts in "The Elements" Chapter. They worked on their outlining, reading skills and summarizing in the outline.
