Students reviewed the homework from p. R103 last night and completed the Adding, Subtracting, Multiply and Dividing numbers in Scientific Notation WS (40 pt).  They were then instructed to use the index of the book to read and summarize information on Conversion Factors and converting in SI.  They were to turn in that summary for a grade and complete problem 3 on p. 46 for homework.

Students learned how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers in scientific notation.  We worked problems on the board, with our calculators and without our calculators.  We also emphasized how moving the decimal affects the exponent.  They were assigned problems #54-57 from page R103.

9-18-19 (Wednesday)

After discussing the concept of density and writing the notes on Density from the Data Analysis PowerPoint, students completed the Density WPWS (50 pt) in class or for homework.  We worked 2 sample problems and the students then completed the WS for homework.  They received a Bronze grade (10 pt) for having their calculators in class today.

9/19/19 (Thursday)

Students will copy the notes from the Data Analysis WS.  We will discuss and explain the notes when I return.

Students continued taking notes and discussion on the base units of SI from the prefixes of the base units in SI, their symbols, the numbers that they stand for; and what derived units are. They were reminded to learn the SI prefixes from tera - pico for a possible test. Once again, they were reminded to have their SCIENTIFIC CALCULATORS each day. They received a bronze grade (10 pt) for having their calculators today.

Students learned the 7 base units of SI and the natural phenomena upon which they are based; the prefixes of the base units in SI, their symbols, the numbers that they stand for; and what derived units are.  They were reminded to learn the SI prefixes from tera - pico for a possible test.  Once again, they were reminded to have their SCIENTIFIC CALCULATORS each day.  They received a bronze grade (10 pt) for having their calculators today.
