The teacher went over the answers to the Chemical Reactions Ch. Review prior to the test. Then, students took the Chemical Reactions Chapter Test (100 pts). Upon finishing the test, students began the Physics portion of the course by completing the Motion Vocabulary (28 pts) and turning it in by GPS if possible.

Students completed the Word Scramble (32 pt) puzzle to prepare for the Chemical Reactions Voc. Test (34 pts). After the Vocabulary Test, the began the Chemical Reactions Ch. Review (50 pt) to prepare for tomorrows, Chemical Reaction Chapter Test.

We concluded the notes from the PowerPoint on Chemical Reactions. Students received a "Balancing Chemical Equations" - 30 pts. They also received a Chemical Reactions Crossword Puzzle (30 pts) to help prepare for the Chemical Reactions Voc. Test on tomorrow. They will have the Chemical Reactions Chapter Test on Thursday, not Friday. Students were encouraged to complete their makeup tests by Friday of this week.

Students were able to view the podcast on "Balancing Equations" and take notes. We then worked 5 practice problems on the board. Students then turned in their notes and practice problems (Bronze) - 15 pts. Students then began work on the "Identifying and Balancing Chemical Equations" WS -48 pts. They were warned to observe the board to notice the dates of the Vocabulary Test and Chapter Test. They were also advised of the last day to makeup tests.

Students completed Aim 16 (Replacement Reactions) from a workbook that explained Single and Double Replacement Reactions (45 pts). Then we observed a podcast on Counting Atoms. We also turned in a summary of the podcast for a Bronze grade.

Students were given an E-Day assignment in class yesterday. They were to complete a Black History Quiz using the internet. It allows us to learn some African Americans who helped contribute to the development of the United States of America in science and life. The Black History Quiz (50 pts) is due on Thursday.

Students answered questions from Aim 14 (What is a synthesis reaction") - 36pts, and Aim 15 (What is a decomposition reaction) - 50 pts, in class. They received their E-Day assignments for tomorrow in class (50 pts), who do I know in Black History Month? (50 pts).

Today, we continued the notes in the PowerPoint on Chemical Reactions. After reviewing the basic concepts of Chemical Reactions from yesterday notes and discussion, we went over the 5 types of chemical reactions. They completed the Types of Chemical Reactions WS (22 pts) for homework/schoolwork.

Students learned what a chemical reaction is and where it occurs. Also, the process of chemical nomenclature and who is responsible for the chemical nomenclature were revealed. The use of chemical equations and major types were discussed. We concluded class w/the comparison of subscripts and coefficients and how coefficients are used to balance chemical equations.

Students completed the Chemical Change Review Questions (60 pts) in class using the textbooks under their desks.
