Students took notes and discussed how to balance chemical equations using coefficients.  They compared coefficients with subscripts and learned the effect of the law of conservation of matter in balancing equations.

Mrs. Cook went over the answers to their E-Day assignment with the class.  Then, they began to go over notes for the Chemical Reactions concepts.

Students worked on "Chemical Change" Review Questions to finish in class.  If they did not finish the questions in class, they were to be completed for homework.  They were reminded of their  E-Day assignments which are on Google Classroom.  They were also reminded of the Decathlon, thend of the 3rd 9 Weeks grading period and how soon the Spring Break begins in 10 days.

Students were allowed to watch a video on the projector introducing Chemical Reactions from Billy Nye, the Science Guy.  They had questions to answer as they watched the video.  They were also advised of their E-Day assignment and how to access it on their Google Classroom

Students received their Chemical Bonds Chapter Test back and were allowed to correct the questions that they missed by "item analysis".  It was an attempt to see what they missed and determine why they missed certain questions.  They were allowed to use their notes and textbook to find the correct answers.

Students were allowed 10 minutes to study for their "Chemical Bonding" Chapter Test. After the study period, students took the Chemical Bonding Test (100 pt). They began the Chemical Reactions Vocabulary (48 pt) after the chapter Test.

Students participated in a "Kahoot" Review in preparation for the "Chemical Bonding" Chapter Test on tomorrow.

Students were allowed 10 min. to review and "go over" their vocabulary terms for the Chemical Bonding Vocabulary Test. They then took the Chemical Bond Voc. Test (26 pt). After the Voc. Test, they worked the "Element Code" WS (38 pt). They will have the Chapter Test on Chemical Bonding on Wednesday.

Students worked on 3 assignments in class today: Naming Covalent Compounds WS (50 pt), Finishing the Black History Month WS (50 pt) and the Chemical Bonding Color Page. They will have the Chemical Bonding Vocabulary Test on Monday and the Chapter Test on Tuesday.

Students watched a podcast on naming Covalent Compounds.  Then, they completed the Naming Covalent Compounds WS, polyatomic ions quiz and "Black History Month" Matching WS.
