Students continued notes from the PowerPoint on Thermal Expansion, diffusion and buoyancy. Archimedes Principle was explained and evaluated. Then, we explained the concepts w/examples and advised students to have their calculators on Tuesday. They were advised of the Chapter Test on Solids, Liquids and Gases on Friday and the vocabulary test on the same information on Thursday before Thanksgiving.

Students completed the Properties of Matter Review Questions (60 pts) by reading the book today. The turned in the Review Questions at the conclusion of the period.
Classification of Matter/Solid, Liquid, and Gases
Students & teacher went over the answers to the Classification of Matter Ch. Rev. Then, they took the Classification of Matter Chapter Test (100 pt). After which they began the Solid, Liquids, and Gases Vocabulary from the board (40 pts). It is due today.
Types of Properties
We continued taking notes on the types of Properties and mixtures from the PowerPoint on Classification of Matter. We went over the two types of properties and the two types of changes with examples. We concluded class with a Crossword Puzzle on the Classification of Matter. (34 pts) They will have the Classification of Matter Voc. Test on Friday and Chapter Test on Monday.

Students continued taking notes from the PowerPoint "Classification of Matter". We specifically covered types of mixtures and types of compounds. They were assigned a worksheet "Elements, Compounds and Mixtures" (39 pts) to complete in class.

We began taking notes from the PowerPoint on Classifying Matter. We discussed the two major types of matter and how things are classified beyond the types with examples. We compared the two types of pure substances and how they are different. They will be having a vocabulary test on Friday.
