10/24/18 (Wednesday)
Students took the Measurements & Scientific Method & Conversions Chapter Test (100 pts). We went over the answers to the Chapter Review then took the Chapter Test. They began the Classification of Matter Voc. (38 pts) for homework. They were reminded to dress for lab on Thursday and Friday.

10/25/18 (Thursday)
We went over the directions and procedures for the Penny Lab (50 pts) and Toilet Tissue Lab (72 pts) prior to entering the lab for the activities. All students completed the Penny Lab and were reminded to dress to complete the Toilet Tissue Lab on Friday.

Students went over the answers to the Simpsons WS (44 pts) which was for homework. Then, they took the Scientific Method Quiz (50 pts). After the Quiz, they completed the Methods of Science Chapter Review (82 pts). They will have the Measurements, Scientific Method Quiz Test on tomorrow. They were advised of the labs on Thursday and Friday.

10/19/18 (Friday)
Students completed the following Worksheets on the Scientific Method (Steps & Concepts):
1. 6.6-1 Experimental Methods of Research (28 pts)
2. Independent & Dependent Variables WS (32 pts)
3. Chapter Review (50 pts)

10/22/18 (Monday)
We reviewed the answers to the worksheets done on Friday and were assigned the "Simpsons, Identify the Controls and Variables" WS (44 pts). They were advised of the test on tomorrow on the concepts of the "Scientific Method".

Students completed the notes from the PowerPoint on the Scientific Method. We learned the two groups in the SM, the two types of variables and how to find them, two types of data, and the two ways to come to a conclusion. We finished class completing "The Scientific Method in Action" WS (20 pts) to determine the concepts mentioned above.

Students began taking notes on the Scientific Method and its steps.

10/15/18 (Monday)
Students completed the SI Lab (100 pts) measuring distance, mass, volume, and temperature using the instruments. They also were able to complete the calculations in the classroom.

10/16/18 (Tuesday)
Students were taking the Pre-ACT Exam.

Students completed the SI Lab in measuring volume, mass, distance, and temperature w/lab tools and in SI units. (100 pts). They performed the calculations in the room after the lab measurements.

Students continued w/the measurements in the SI Lab (100 pts). We will finish the lab tomorrow.

Students were introduced and reviewed the objectives and procedures for the SI Lab. We then went into the lab practicing Lab Safety procedures and began measuring volume, mass, distance and temperature. All data was recorded on the data sheet and turned in at the conclusion of class. We will continue the lab tomorrow so dress appropriately.

Students were given the Scientific Method Review Questions (Science Skills)-60 pts. They were to read the information from the chapter "Science Skills" in their textbook and answer the questions on their papers. They were informed of what to do with the notes and other information from the 1st 9 weeks to prepare for their 1st Semester Exam. They were also reminded to come dressed correctly for the SI Lab tomorrow.
