Students copied notes on Diatomic molecules and types of chemical Reactions. Then, we observed a podcast on "Balancing Equations w/coefficients". Students then worked on Aim 15, "Synthesis Reactions" (36 pts).

Chemical Reactions
Students learned how to count atoms and completed the "Counting Atoms" WS (75 pts). We also compared chemical equations and chemical reactions while comparing coefficients and subscripts.
Intruder Alert/Chem. Reactions
Students were instructed where to go during an intruder alert in the classroom, lunchroom and outdoor during class change. We also talked about the beginning notes on Chemical Reactions.
Chemical Reactions
Students were to have completed the Chemical Reactions Vocabulary (48 pts) and turn in at the end of the period.
Chemical Bonding/Chemical Reactions
Teacher and students went over the Chemical Bonding Voc. Test (26 pts), then we reviewed the correct answers to the Chemical Bonding Ch. Rev. (68 pts). Afterwards, we took the Chemical Bonding Chapter Test (100 pt). We finished class working on the Chemical Reactions Voc. (48 pts)
Chemical Bonding
Students began class working on the Chemical Bonding Ch. Rev (68 pts). During the class, they took the Chemical Bonding Vocabulary Test (26 pts). They continued the Chemical Bonding Ch. Review upon completion of the Voc. Test. They took the Periodic Table Relationships home for homework. They will have the Chemical Bonding Ch. Test on tomorrow.
Chemical Bonding
Students took the Polyatomic Ion Test (24 pts), the Element Symbols Test (36 pts) and then completed the Element Code WS (38 pts). They were made aware of the Chemical Bonding Voc. Test on Monday.
Covalent Compounds
Students completed taking notes on Chemical Bonding by talking and discussing covalent bonds. We compared covalent & ionic bonding and how they are named as well as how they both are written. Students learned the prefixes to the covalent bonding and had two worksheets. "Naming Covalent Compounds" (50 pts) and "Writing Covalent Compounds" (50 pts). They also took a Polyatomic Ion test (25 pts) at the conclusion of class.
Ionic Compounds
We continued and reviewed the 3 different types of Ionic Compounds Formulas and how to write them. We then began comparing/contrasting ionic & Covalent formulas.
Polyatomic Ion Formulas
We quickly had a poptest on naming the symbols, and charges for polyatomic ions. Then, students watched a "Naming Ionic Compounds w/Polyatomic Ions" podcast. Then, after working seven practice problems, they were given the "Naming Polyatomic Ions Formulas" WS (50 pts). They were advised to study for the Polyatomic Ion Test on Thursday.
