Students learned the three temperature scales.  We also learned the formulas for converting from Celsius to Kelvin (vice versa) and Celsius to Fahrenheit (vice versa).  They were given a Celsius to Fahrenheit (vice versa) WS (25 pts) to complete for homework.

Students took the SI Conversions Test (30 pts).

Students were given a "Measuring in SI" WS (90 pts) to measure given lines in mm, cm, and dm.  They were then asked to convert to the other units of measurement using Conversion Factors.  They will have the SI Conversions Test on tomorrow.

Students worked 3 practice problems on Coversions in the Metric System w/the teacher.  Then, the students began the SI Conversions WS (45 pts).  They will have an SI Conversions Test on Thursday.  After finishing the SI Conversions WS, they began the SI Measuring WS (50 pts), which uses a ruler to measure lines in SI.

Students reviewed the prefixes in SI, the numbers that they represent and their symbols.  Then, we reviewed how to write SI Conversion Factors.  They began the SI Conversion Factor WS (34 pts) in class and completed it for homework.  They were reminded that grades will be finalized on Wednesday and all makeup work must be completed by Wednesday of this week.  They will also have a SI Conversions Test on Wednesday.

Students took notes on the SI prefixes, the numbers that they stand for and the symbol for the prefixes today.

Students took notes on the SI base units and how to calculate the volume of a solid object and a liquid object.  We also reviewed the SI notes from Monday.

All 10th grade Science students took the Aspire Test in class today.

Students took the English Conversions Test (74 pts).  After the test, students began read and write notes from p. 6-7, then, they were to answer the questions on p. 8 for homework.

Students were introduced to the Metric System, its synonyms and base units through the PowerPoint.  They took notes and began to be introduced to the numbers and prefixes of SI also.
