Power
4-19-17
Students continued to finish the Work Lecture WS and were introduced to the concept of Mechanical Advantage. They finished class by calculating Mechanical Advantage on a Word Problem WS (20 pts)
4-18-17
Students were introduced to the concept of Power in Physics and then were allowed to calculate Power on a Word Problem WS (20 pts).
Work
Work and how physicists calculate work was the topic of class. Students then worked a Work Word Problem WS ( 20 pts).
Work
Students completed the Work & Machines Review Questions (50 pts) and began the Work & Machines Lecture WS.
Energy / Work
Students took the Energy Chapter Test (100 pts) after reviewing the Chapter Review and questions from the website. Then, they were given the Work Voc. (56 pts) which was assigned for homework.
Energy
Students took the Energy Voc. Test (26 pts) and completed the Energy Ch. Rev. (50 pts) in preparation for the Energy Chapter Test (100 pts) tomorrow.
Energy
We covered several versions of Energy Transformations, types of potential/kinetic energy changes, and how our body converts energy to conclude the notes on the chapter. Students were given an Energy SNF (16 pts) to prepare for tomorrows Energy Voc. Test. The Energy Chapter Test will be on Friday.
Energy
Today we took notes on the types of potential energy. We then differentiated among the three types of potential energy. Then, we worked 3 examples of calculating mass, height and GPE. Students were given a Gravitational Potential Energy (GPE) Word Problem Worksheet to complete for homework (30 pts). We also took a Bronze grade (10 pts) on bringing the calculator to class.
Kinetic Energy
Students were able to learn several FORMS of energy and the two major types of energy. We also discussed the different types of energy and how to calculate Kinetic Energy. Class concluded with a "Calculating Kinetic Energy" WPWS (33 pts)
Speed Lab
We went over the calculations for the Speed Lab and students were to finish the calculations for homework. (100 pt).
