We discussed the formula for pressure after talking about the concepts in Pascal's Principle. Then, we worked 3 practice problems dealing with the calculation of pressure, force or area. Finally, we finished with a word problem worksheet calculating pressure, force or area using Pascal's principle.

Buoyancy & Archimedes Principle
We looked at a video, "The Buoyancy Factor" and wrote a 3 paragraph summary of what we learned. Then, we continued our notes on Archimedes Principle and the facts on Pressure. We will need a calculator every day next week as we work word problems dealing w/Boyles and Charles Laws.
Buoyancy
We went over the notes that explain Buoyancy and Archimedes Principle. Students were reminded to bring a calculator tomorrow to complete the Pressure word problems.
Buoyancy, Archimedes
Today, we reviewed the notes from the states of matter, kinetic theory and phase changes. We introduced the concepts of Buoyancy and Archimedes principle. They were advised to have a calculator tomorrow for word problems. They will not be allowed to leave to get a calculator for class.
Phase Changes of Matter
We took notes on the 6 phase changes of matter and discussed reading, thinking and writing as we took the notes. Several slides were incorrectly written to encourage thinking. The reading of a graph explaining phase changes and energy was discussed also.
Solid, Liquid, and Gases
Students were given their Classification of Matter Tests back. Then, we finished the Solids, Liquids, and Gases Vocabulary (40 pts) in class. The Review Questions (50 pts) from the Solids, Liquids, and Gases were began and finished for homework.
Class of Matter
We took the Classification of Matter Test after reviewing the answers to the Class. of Matter Review from the text. Then, we began the Solids, Liquids, and Gases Vocabulary
Class. of Matter
Today, we began class with a "Properties of Matter" Review WS to review the concepts. Then some time during the class we took the "Classification of Matter" Voc. Test. We ended with the "Classification of Matter" Chapter Review from the book in preparation for the Chapter Test on tomorrow. Those who were on the field trip to SOT were exempt from the assignments except the Voc. Test which they must take.
Class. of Matte
We completed the notes from the PowerPoint on the "Classification of Matter" by discussing the 2 major types of changes and the Law of Conservation of Mass. We then, answered a "Classification of Matter" Crossword Puzzle in preparation for the Vocabulary Test on Tomorrow. Students were advised of the Voc. Test tomorrow and the Chapter Test on this chapter on Wednesday. Study, STUDY, STUDY!!!
Classification of Matter
We discussed the types of mixtures w/examples, the specific types of mixtures and the two major types of properties with examples. All notes were from the PowerPoint presentation with discussion.
