We learned how to change fractions to decimals. Then we rounded off to two digits to the right of the decimal. We finally reviewed how numbers are to be rounded using a calculator. Class was concluded with a 20pt Math Poptest WS. All students were reminded to bring a calculator to class every day for the rest of the year. Students with no calculator were instructed to complete the problems using the old fashioned way of division.

Today, we turned regular numbers into scientific notation. We took notes, then worked 5 practice problems. Afterwards, we got the worksheet and completed 25 problems using the same process.

Today, we completed the notes on Scientific Notation. Afterwards, we practiced writing numbers from regular numbers to scientific notation. We received 50 problems for homework. Then we talked about rounding numbers and did a 30 pt Rounding WS in class.

We took the Lab Equipment Quiz, reviewed the answers and then took the notes on Scientific Notation. We worked some practice problems w/scientific notation afterwards.

We reviewed the LIVE lab equipment, then took the Tools of a Physical Scientist WS (40 pts) and began on the Lab Tools Crossword Puzzle. Most had the Crossword Puzzle (42 pts) for homework in preparation for the Lab Equipment Quiz (50 pts) tomorrow. Study!!!

Students finished the lab equipment drawings, turned them in for a 100 pt grade and had the Lab Equipment Worksheet to complete for homework. They were made aware of the Lab Tools Quiz on Wednesday.

21 - Students began the drawings of Lab Equipment after they calculated their grades to this point.

22 - We finished the drawings of the lab tools and turned them in for a grade.

Students were taught how to calculate their grades on the board. Then, we handed them their grade sheet for the 1st 9 Weeks. We then concluded class, by having the Lab Safety Quiz and handing them their papers back to calculate their grade.

Today, we finished the Lab Safety Tour WS with a tour of the lab to find the lab safety items. Then we turned it in for a grade (50 pts). We then began the "How to Calculate My Grade" information.

Today, we finished the Lab Safety Rules Powerpoint Notes. Then, we began the Lab Safety Tour WS which we will finish in lab tomorrow. The Lab Safety Quiz is on Tuesday, so study.
