Lab Safety
We completed the Lab Safety Review Questions WS in class. Students were given the Lab Safety Contract and told it was due on Monday, Aug. 18, to be able to participate in lab that day.
Textbook Use
Today, we reviewed the parts of a textbook and used it to find several items of information. Then we began the Uses of a Textbook WS, which will be due tomorrow.
Rules Test, Textbook Notes
Today, we took the Classroom Rules Test. Then we took notes on the 3 major parts of a textbook as we found them in our textbook. After sample questions we began the "Uses of a Textbook" Worksheet.
Rules & Procedures
We reviewed the Rules and Procedures in class using the Projector and prepared for our Rules Test tomorrow. They will have a Classroom Rules Test tomorrow after we finish the Parts of a Textbook notes.
Code of Conduct
We reviewed assigned pages of the SCBOE Code of Conduct and reminded students to have classroom materials on Monday to complete the syllabus.
Classroom Syllabus
Today, we got the syllabus for class and discussed the rules and procedures for the class.
The Day After
Students have watched the movie, "The Day After" (1983), NBC to learn of the effects of radiation on the lives of humans and the world.

Energy
8 - Completed notes on Energy and uses by the body, fission/fusion, and law of conservation of Energy.
We also took an openbook/open notes Voc. Test on Energy. Then finally ended with an easy Energy Word Search. Students were told to have a calculator and pencil for a test on Friday.
9 - Students will take the Energy Chapter Test with open book and open notes during class. Then they will complete the Radioactivity Voc.
Potential Energy
We took notes on the types of potential energy, transformations of energy and the law of conservation of energy. There will be an open book Voc. Test tomorrow and finishing of the notes for a Chapter Test on Friday w/Open notes.
