Students took notes from the PowerPoint on the Kinetic Theory, states of matter, their definitions and relations of energy among the states of matter. We will be moving rapidly to cover all of the material on Solids, Liquids and Gases prior to the 1st Semester Exam. They were reminded to have a calculator for class on tomorrow.

Students completed the "Solid, Liquids, and Gases" Vocabulary (40 pt) in class and began the same chapters Review Questions (60 pt). Happy a Happy and Festive Thanksgiving!
Classification of Matter
Students took the "Classification of Matter" Chapter Review (76 pts) in class and turned in at the end of the period. They also completed the "Classification of Matter" Vocabulary Test (34 pt) at the conclusion of the period. They will have the "Classification of Matter" Chapter Test on tomorrow.

Students completed the "Classification of Matter" Crossword Puzzle (34 pt) and Properties of Matter Word Search (28 pt) in class. They were in preparation for the "Classification of Matter" Vocabulary Test on tomorrow and Chapter Test on Thursday.

Students continued the notes from the PowerPoint on the "Classification of Matter". We learned the two types of properties and how they differ from each other. The two types of changes and the Law of Conservation of Matter was discussed. Students will take the Classification of Matter Vocabulary Test on Wednesday and Chapter Test on Thursday.

Students continued taking notes from the PowerPoint on the Properties of Compounds and Mixtures. We learned the 3 characteristics of a compounds and 3 characteristics of a mixture. Then, we compared several substances and used them to determine if the substance was a mixture or compound. We concluded class w/the students working on the "Elements, Compounds and Mixtures WS" (39 pt). It was assigned to be completed for homework.

Toilet Tissue/Penny Drop/Classification of Matter
Students completed the Data Analysis of the Toilet Tissue Lab (100 pt) and the Penny Drop Lab (60 pt). After completing the Data for the labs, the students began on the Classification of Matter Vocabulary (38 pt).
Scientific Method
Students performed the scientific method on the "Toilet Tissue" Lab (100 pt) and the "Penny Drop" Lab (60 pt). They completed the lab portion in the lab and will finish the Data Table/WS tomorrow.
