On Monday, April 29, students were involved in End of the Year Testing for English in Periods 1-3 and 6-8. Therefore, certain Physical Science students' classes did not meet. Today, Tuesday, April 30, the Math End of the Year Test was given for Algebra students in the morning during Periods 1-3 and in Geometry in Periods 6-8. So, different students attended class while others were testing. Those students that were in class were working on the Electricity Review Questions. They were turned in at the end of class. The students who were testing will complete them on Wednesday.

Electricity
Today was an introduction into Electricity. Students were allowed to look up the vocabulary terms in "Electricity" to become familiar w/the terms in the new chapter.
Thermal Energy
Test Day on Thermal Energy. We reviewed the Thermal Energy Chapter Review and began the Electricity Vocabulary.
Thermal Energy
Students got to complete 2 vocabulary tests to review the vocabulary in Thermal Energy before they took the Thermal Energy vocabulary test. Then, they were to complete the Thermal Energy Chapter Review before 8th period. The Thermal Energy chapter test is tomorrow. They will need a calculator and pencil to take the test.
Heat
Heat Movers, Engine Strokes and ways that heat is used to work were discussed. There will be a Thermal Energy Vocabulary Test tomorrow.
Uses of Heat
Today, we discussed uses of heat in heating systems, the laws of thermodynamics (1st & 2nd) and began to discuss the strokes in an internal combustion engine. Vocabulary Test possibly on Wednesday.
Thermal Energy
Today, we discussed the various methods of heat transfer (conduction, convection and radiation). We listed examples and compared conductors and insulators by taking notes from the powerpoint on Thermal Energy.
Heat Lost/Heat Gained
Today, we worked on the equation for heat lost/gained on a worksheet after working 3 practice problems. The worksheet was not finished in class, but is due before 8th period today.
Thermal Energy
On Tuesday, we discussed the characteristics of heat, thermal energy and the Kinetic Molecular Model of Matter. Today, we described thermal expansion, thermal energy, specific heat and learned to calculate heat lost or heat gained. Tomorrow students must have a calculator to complete the worksheet on Heat Lost/Heat Gained (Q = mcdeltat)
Thermal Energy
Students will complete the Thermal Energy Vocabulary and Review Questions in class today. It will require use of the Index, Glossary and reading in the chapter. They also received their grades from the Work & Machines Test on Friday.
