ENGLISH CONVERSIONS
Today, we got to show what we've learned over the 3 days we've spent on English Conversions. Students were supposed to know a list of given English relationships in distance, volume and weight. They took the test on English Conversions today.
ENGLISH CONVERSIONS
Students performed English Conversions on the English Conversions Worksheet. They used conversion factors to change from one unit to another English unit. They will have an English Conversions Test tomorrow. Very good day in attention and work in ALL classes.
English Conversions
Today, we converted from one English unit (in, ft, yd, cup, pt, gal) to another English unit using Conversion Factors. We began the English Conversions WS in preparation for a test on English Conversions on Friday. Yesterday, we spent the entire period learning how to write Conversion factors (In the English System)
Conversion Factors
Students were taught how to write conversion factors using the English System of Measurement as a guide w/units such as inches, ft, gallons, and miles. Tomorrow we will write "Conversion Factors" in the English System. Students must have a calculator to perform these operations.
Math Review
Today, students completed the worksheets on a Math Review of Multiplication and Division w/the rounding of numbers to the correct place. We also began discussions concerning what a conversion and conversion factor is. Monday we'll delve in to writing conversion factors in the English System of Measurement.
Math Review
Today, in Physical Science we discussed division and multiplication with a calculator, rounding numbers to two digits to the right of the decimal and how to write the final answers on problems. All students were told it was MANDATORY to have a calculator in class tomorrow to complete the problems on the worksheets dealing with the MATH REVIEW. They were told to bring a calculator to class each day for the next 2 weeks.
Scientific Notation / 911
Today, we took the scientific notation test. Yesterday we wrote regular numbers in scientific notation and vice versa. They finished the Scientific Notation WS for homework last night and took the Scientific Notation TEST today. After the Test, we looked at a short tribute to the 9-11 tragedy in 2001. Then, they were to write a 5 paragraph essay on 3 Things that they treasure the most in life for homework.

Today, we took the Lab Tools Quiz and began to learn about Scientific Notation. Students should understand what Scientific Notation is and how to write numbers in Scientific Notation.
