Shelby County Honors First Year Teachers

The Shelby County Board of Education recently honored Allison Bengston and Erin Golden as “First Year Teachers of the Year.”  Allison Bengston taught fourth grade at Chelsea Intermediate School during the 2012-2013 school year.  She will teach second grade at Forest Oaks Elementary School next year.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama.

Erin Golden teaches English 9 and Pre-AP English 9 at Calera High School. She received a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
