“This was an awesome recognition to¬†our¬†students and our faculty and staff members at Calera High,” said Principal Richard¬†Bishop.¬†“The recognition occurred because of our high percentage¬†of students, 39¬†percent, who are¬†enrolled in AP classes and the total number of students we teach¬†who are proficient in reading and math. We have 91 percent who are proficient in reading and 93 percent who are proficient in math.”

” Another big factor in the recognition was the consideration that we have a high number of disadvantaged students, 53 percent,¬†and still accomplished great academic success,” Bishop said.¬† This is really the result of a lot of hard work by our students and staff.¬† I very proud!”
