Linda Nolen Learning Center recently hosted its annual “Art from the Heart Festival,” which featured well- known local band, Festival Expression, along with several art stations for the students to have the opportunity to show off their creative talents. Some of the art stations included making beaded peace necklaces, canvas art, sand art, starfish art, print painting, and bubbles. The students also created one large unique piece of artwork together using assorted bottle tops that will be displayed at the school.
“We had a wonderful time together with our students, and their parents, as we all celebrated the talented and creative students at the Linda Nolen Learning Center,” said LNLC teacher Michelle Ledlow.
In conjunction with this event, the school also hosted a parent visitation and Open House. The school invited vendors from all over the county to share information that focused on transitional services for older students with special needs. Some of the following vendors were present: Children Rehab Services, United Cerebral Palsy, Purifoy Adult Day Healthcare, The ARC of Shelby County, Project Search, and others.
