Melissa Youngblood will serve as the new Coordinator of Student Services for Shelby County Schools after being approved for the position by the Shelby County Board of Education. 

Ms. Youngblood has 30 years of experience in education, with the past 25 years being in Shelby County. She most recently was serving as the Student Services Supervisor.  She has also served as a teacher, assistant principal and principal in the Shelby County School District.

Ms. Youngblood received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance from the University of Montevallo and earned an Education Specialist degree in Educational Administration, also from the University of Montevallo.
