Arts on Main Scheduled for April 24

The Shelby County Schools Fine Arts Department, along with the Columbiana Business Council and Shelby County Art Council, are sponsoring ARTS on Main art and music festival on April 24 in downtown Columbiana. The event festival will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will feature performances from bands and choirs from various Shelby County schools, as well as student artwork.

There will be three stages featuring live musical performances from 20 bands and choirs. The stages will include a Main Street Stage, along with a Fountain Stage and Arts Council State located at the new Shelby County Arts Council building located at Old Mill Square near Main Street.

Student artwork from every school will also be on display in the businesses and windows of Main Street. Senior Advanced Placement (AP) art students will have a special art exhibit in the Grande Hall of the new Arts Council building.

“The event will also feature food trucks throughout the day and an area for participants to safely create their own work of art,” said Library Media and Fine Arts Supervisor, Michelle Hall. “Bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and join us for a day of celebrating the arts.”
