Students are beginning to divide decimals by decimals today in class. These are the notes students wrote down in their math notebook:
- the divisor CAN NOT have a decimal in it
- move the divisor decimal to the RIGHT enough times to make it a whole number
- move the decimal in the dividend the same number of times
- push the decimal straight up “to the roof”
- divide like normal
We worked many examples together in class to ensure everyone understands the procedures and also to ensure accuracy!
