All Year Programming Students – 8th Grade
(Read the Intro. to Programming information above as well.)

At times we have students who are interested in learning more about programming than they can learn in one semester.  Sometimes class sizes allow for them to remain with me for a second semester to continue their exploration into app creation and circuits.  These spots are few in number on a first come first served basis with teacher approval, and are only available if we do not have overcrowding second semester.  Generally, the curriculum for second semester is Units 4 – 6 of the Computer Science Discoveries course. Students will continue to explore and demonstrate business related skills such as teamwork, interpersonal skills, designing with the user in mind, and ethics while completing their  projects and learning about app creation and circuits.  Most of the curriculum and resources are explained here on the Code.org site.
