let’s get on the road to boston already good people

dearest of the dearly gifted,
i hope this blog finds you enjoying your monday night – and that you have a happy week of reading – i was pretty productive last week…

book two of the five-part series on Christ by eugene peterson – i forget the specific name – it was on the language of Christ – relied a bunch on luke 11-19 – a period where Jesus spoke in parables – was worthwhile read on many levels – by far the best book i read over the week – i’ve now read three of the five books – all really good

series of unfortunate events, books like nine and ten last week – got the baudelaires up to – or rather down the stream – to the ocean where they search for the sugar bowl – if i remember book 11 right – book eight or nine has my favorite line – which i completely didn’t get or remember from years before – “there are many things that are unpleasant in life – finding yourself in a grocery store with distance runners is one of them” – love, love, love that introduction to the chapter – although my above was a paraphrase

read also “dreams of my father” by president obama – written when he was like 33 and in the mid-1990s – sort of autobiography/analysis of race relations in the world – rather long, like 440 pages – i got it along with the snicket book thursday at the public library – perhaps the oddest combo check out ever:)

finished runners world – started running times- Β finished christianity today, history channel magazine – the economist – oh, and sports illustrated – suppose what i remember most was the running stuff – the articles about the mix of faith and training were inspiring

on tap for this week is a book by the snicket author – daniel handler – called “adverbs” – i probably will reread some of my boston things as well – hope your reading goes well – and best wishes to BOB people

  1. Tuesday-
I am reading a new book called The Rescue, by Nicholas Sparks, go figure, (: But anyways, right now in the book Taylor & Denise, the main characters, are falling in love, when suddenly Denise’s son calls Taylor ‘Daddy’. It freaked Taylor out a bit, and he ended up not talking to her for a couple days & went to South Carolina for a few days, to hunt and clear his mind, but when Denise brings up the fact that he didn’t even bother to call her, he surprises her with a bunch of deer meat, and they start to talk about their future together.
    Wednesday-
This story is related to conflict because of Denise’s son, Kyle. He loves Taylor, & Taylor has helped him with his speech impairment, but he always gets in the way. Another conflict in this book is because Taylor hasn’t ever had a SERIOUS relationship, and its hard to know what to say whenever Denise talks about the future.
    Thursday-
    Kyle,
I know you don’t understand any of this, and maybe you will once you are older, but what your mom and I had was special, and it still is special, and I want you to know that. But since you were always there, we drifted apart. & I felt bad when I left her because me and you had gotten so close, that I never spent any time with her anymore. I want you to know none of this is your fault, and I love you. If you ever need anything, I will always be here.
    Love, Taylor.

  2. Well, I am still reading The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. & Just got back from Highschool orientation. They told us that Shelby County had really good reading scores, and that we should thank our Lit teachers with flowers & candy. So don’t be surprised if you get a flower tomorrow, from the flower ninja πŸ™‚ But, my journals:This book has conflict because Gabby thinks that she loves Kevin, but she cannot stop thinking about Travis. He makes her nervous, happy, and she knows she has feelings for him. And that he thinks she is attractive. She thinks he is attractive, also, because he makes her nervous when he does not have a shirt on. She changed her entire life for Kevin, but he can’t seem to propose. She drops hints, but he does not get it. He seems to avoid the subject at all cost, and when she does ask him about it, he gets mad and leaves. He tells her that he loves her all the time, but does not show it.
Right now, she is on an island with him and all of his friends. She loves how good he is with people, and kids.He is really smart, and has a decent job & is laid back He is the perfect marriage matierial. I think they are going to fall in love, and she is going to have to choose between Kevin and Travis.

  3. I am just finishing the book Charlie Bone and the Beast. Charlie Bone and his Uncle Paton are visiting Charlie’s old house while his parents are out whale watching. While in there he finds that his whole upstairs floor area was ripped up and they find that there were people inside the house earlier. When Charlie goes to Bloors Academy he finds a new boy is there that he has to guide around. His name is Dagbert Endless because his last names are “as endless as the seas”. Dagbert’s endowment is to drown other people, controlling water. Dagbert has to be around Charlie all the time, so he starts to drive his friends away by insulting them. Later Charlie finds out that his great Aunt Venita is getting married to a man who has two little children.

Meanwhile, there is a weird howling that the whole town could hear. The town decides to call it the “wilderness wolf” and thinks that it’s dangerous. When Charlie goes home for the weekend his Uncle gets bitten by a creature outside their house. He claims that the things were defiantly not a wolf as everyone else thought, but more of a human. When the town holds a meeting, Charlie’s friend Benjamin thinks of the idea that Charlie’s classmate Asa Pike might be the creature since earlier he betrayed Manfred Bloor and helped Charlie get his father back. Charlie’s great Aunt Venita dropped her new children at Indiglews bookshop. Little Erik was endowed, but Miranda was not.

When Charlie goes back to Bloors he is told by Billy Raven that the Wilderness Wolf is shouting “Help”. When there is gunshots one night Billy tells Charlie that he heard it howl “Father”. Later that week Charlie wakes up to his friend Naren sending the message goodbye. When he tried to talk back Dagbert sees the message and Charlie confronts him. While talking Dagbert experiences wild symptoms, such as glowing and pain. He keeps telling Charlie to get his Sea Gold Creatures from under his pillow. When he gets better Dagbert explains how it is his birthday and how he is now more powerful then his father. When Charlie goes home for the weekend Benjamin explains his plan about Asa Pike and Charlie thinks that that could be right. He decides that he has to help Asa because Asa risked everything to help him and his father. So he, Olivia and Runner Bean go into the forest looking for him. Instead they find Asa’s mother as they realize that Asa’s father was shot and was now dead. On their way across a dangerous metal bridge the water rises so high that Runner Bean was washed away. Charlie’s wand ends up helping them from drowning and Charlie sees the red knight across the bridge. Benjamin goes off to find Runner Bean and Charlie and Olivia bring Mrs. Pike to the Pet’s Cafe. There she explains her story of how she thought that Asa would be good at Bloors Academy with Manfred as his friend, but they explained how they took him away because of how he betrayed them. Charlie leaves and remembers that he has to pick up Billy’s Rat from a Kettle store. When he gets there the lady gives him a strange kettle that gets warm when he was in danger.
Now I am going to end it right there because I don’t want to give away the whole story. Peace πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ :O 8)

  4. monday-
well,i started a new book this week and it is called Riding the Bus with My Sister By Rachel Simon. Rachel Simon’s sister Beth is a woman who lives intensely and often joyfully. Beth, who has mental retardation, spends her days riding the buses in her Pennsylvania city. The drivers, a great group of, are her mentors; her fellow passengers are her community. One day, Beth asked Rachel to go with her on the buses for an entire year. This book is many words but these are just a few that come to mid when i think about it:wise, funny, and an affecting book. Rachel, a writer and college teacher whose busy life didn’t show her emotional side, had much to learn in her sister’s very different world. These are life lessons from almost on every page; how to live in the moment, how to pay attention to what really matters, how to change, how to loveβ€”and how to slow down and enjoy the ride. Rachel Simon brings to mind the almost invisible subject of mental retardation, finds unlikely heroes in everyday life, and realizes Beth as the endearing, independent person she is. This heartwarming book about the unbreakable bond between two very different sisters takes the reader on a journey that really touches the heart.

    tuesday-
I think the authors purpose for this book is to tell the story of how her sister got a “second family” by riding the city buses every day. This story is true for Rachel Simon as i read about the author, he sister Beth in real life actually has mental retardation. The all day , I’m just guessing here, Beth didn’t have anything to do so she decided to ride the bus one day just for fun, and i think by that one bus ride, bus driver, and passengers she fell in love with the people and riding the buses. It made her feel apart of the community and it gave her a life, and a little bit of freedom. I think the authors purpose is to show how her sister became touched by public transportation and to tell her sotry, about their new found bond, all because of public buses. (:

  5. My Blogs for Tuesday and Wednesday for, not Scat, but Sure Fire.

    Tuesday-
Well Rich and Jade are caught up in a whirlwind of adventures concerning their father John Chance. Andrew Phillips goes to the police station because he knows that Jade and Rich are headed there to put in a report for their father. Phillips tells the policeman to deceive the children and tell them that the nearest John Chance is in Belfordshire which I have no idea how far away that is from London. This is only one of their many adventures.

    Wednesday-
In Sure Fire tonight I read that John Chance was taken to Viktor Vishinsky’s private jet on its way to Krejikistan. Vishinsky tells Chance that he just wants to know where the sample is and if he does not tell him he will torture his children until Chance tells him where the sample is. Rich and Jade meet Magda and of course Magda tells them she is on their side but she is not and just wants the “sample” like the rest of them do. Ardman also wants the “sample” and of course tells Rich and Jade that he is on their side but he actually is. That is all for tonight.

  6. Dear Lt. Col. Dawkins,

I overheard your conversation about the endorsement from Admiral Leahy, I hope this proves me right…

    Dear Lt. Col. Dawkins,

In the orders I gave to General Pickering to use, it clearly states that they have the direct endorsement from the undersigned(me, Admiral Leahy) and should be given all necessary equipment and personnel without question. If you have any further questions, please contact the office of the undersigned at militarynow that # again is 6-454-827-9669.

    Signed,
Admiral Leahy, Secretary of the Navy to the President

#2 The author’s purpose of this story is to tell about the events taking place in the early pacific war with the Japanese during WWII. He does this while telling of the amazing will and heroism of the USMCR (United States Marine Corps). They conduct humongous and almost suicidal attempts to retrieve fellow marines from a small island called Buka. It would have taken some incridible talent and skill to do what those men in the story did. It is also to help the author obtain popularity and money because no one now a days writes a book without something for themsleves involved in it. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  7. hey mafeld! i got to sing in church tonight! soooo excited! but anyways, i’m reading A Walk to Remember…. it’s AMAZING! anyways….
1~ Okay, so i’m guessing landon is one of those stuck up, spoiled teenagers who thinks he’s all that just because he’s in the popular crowd. i mean, his best friend is the star quarterback….. i dont know… just a random hunch:)
2~ Jamie is the weird, outcasted girl, but she doesn’t care. she stands up for what she believes in, which is good. her dad is the preacher, so she’s obviously a christian. also, she doesnt care what other people think about her, as long as she knows that what she’s doing is for god.
3~ that’s a weird combination…. jamie and landon? she’s a preacher’s daughter, and he’s a….. well, i’m not allowed to say words like that:) but still, i think hegbert, her father, might have a stroke! he never really has liked landon….

  8. Okay, I’m back, and still blogging on Shiver. Wish our team luck at B.O.B!

Mon.- Last week I left off when Grace and the white wolf were having a cat fight, or a dog fight I guess. (That was a really bad joke) Anyway, the next day she goes to school and she tells her best friend that she thinks the wolves might be werewolves. Her BF just sort of stared at her and told her she was crazy. (But, I really think anyone would, maybe accept me because I’m crazy like that. NOTICE: I do not believe in werewolves, just making sure) Well, she’s walking down the hall and this girl whose brother was killed by wolves overhears Grace talking and comes up to her and tells her that people are going out to kill wolves in the woods.

Tues.- So, when Grace finds this out she runs out of the school and gets in her car. Then, her car breaks down right in front of the place where people are boardering the woods to shoot. She goes up to the officer and he tells her what they’re doing and she says, “Hey, my friend is in there!” Well, the officer freaks out, but his radio isn’t working. So, Grace, like a crazy person goes running into the woods where hunters are SHOOTING! Well, she hears shots fired and then she goes up to a hunter and he’s like, why are you in here!? Well she tells him why and he’s trying to radio everyone. The cop finds her and then walks her back home.

Wed.- When she made it right behind her back yard she told the cop he could go. When he left she walked into her back yard she see’s this boy laying in her back yard. So she runs over to him and he’s shot in the neck. Well, Grace half drags half carries him into her house. She puts some clothes on him and drives him to the hospital. And guess who the boy is? SAM! She knew that right when she saw him because in the book she said ‘He looks exactly like a wolf, but not like one at all.’ I thought this was a critical part of the book, and a cool way for them to meet, even if he was shot. Also, he didn’t know anything because he’d just became human after being a wolf.

Well, I’m done for this week. Crossing fingers for B.O.B! πŸ™‚ πŸ˜›

  9. well hi mr mayfield i guess it is that time of year again (and again and again and again) so i could not miss a week of the super richous journals again i think it has been so long since i done one i have forgot how to do one…. 10. the baseball season is finally over. i can now get some reading of going bovine done before 12 oclock at night. im gonna blog for the two days tonight and get it over and done with

im going to start with change that happens in the story. right now the kid who has mad cow disease, they wont mention his name any more, is taking a yard gnome god to the beach where he is headed. the change is that the punk rock pink haired angel dulcie was once visiting cameron, i rememered his name, very frequently to make sure he was on his way to cure his disease and save the world. well she was with him and the he said not to ever see him again and so far she hasnt since that moment in the book. thats the change. she was there and now she isnt

the second thing that i shall do is a genre slip. as usual i will do a letter to cameron.
    dear cameron,
smoking weed is not only wrong and stupid it is illegal. it cause severe braincell loss just for a few minute high that makes you feel really good and then really bad. i think that you may not have mad cow disease its just the weed that you be smoking. not a burger. now to get to the point. i know that little yard gnome gave you three grand in cash that he stole from carbine. i have stolen gonzo, the dwarf, and in order to get him back you must give me the rest of the money that you have left after you get to florida and save the world. heck you can just have him back. he wont stop complaining about the food i keep feeding him.

  11. Tuesday
hey did kinda like my monday night we won our baseball game 15-4. against montevallo no offense to them but one player swung a level swing at a ball cam threw 20 ft over his head needs some work montevallo cam meant to do that finished Hunger Starting Epic It’s really good its about this world who have no real fights but they resolve problems by fighting in a video game called u guessed it wrong Epic so its like a dictatorship because the head people of Central Allocations (dictators) r practically invinceable pretty good book

  12. Wednesday
I think Conor Kostick -by the way i dont know how 2 pronounce that-k a stek- yeah im a nerd- anyway ithink he wrote this to entertain and possibley-depending on the ending that epic is a better world than the one we live in well i mean there is violence, video games, n girls -what else would someone put in a young adult fiction buk-anyway he might think violence is bad so he’ll-cant leave out the apostrophee in that i know i spelled that wrong- protest or something then he’ll end up blowing up a building in chicago- new york is 2 used to it- oh well no big buildings in alabama besides the vulcan statue anyway thats why i think he wrote the buk- i think but how much does that represent?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  13. Thursday

We WON at Battle of the Books! I just had to gloat.

    My blog for Thursday.
In Sure Fire Rich and Jade meet Ardman, Hilary Ardman that is, at the Clarendorf Hotel. They made up a tricky strategy when meeting him which is the Jade will be at an undisclosed location listening to Ardman and Rich’s conversation. If Ardman is going to kidnap Rich then Jade will run and get help. Jade is listening on her cell phone while Rich’s cell phone is on the table in between Rich and Jade. Ardman tells Rich about working with his father and more about COBRA. He also tells Rich about the phone call from Mrs. Gilpin to John Chance telling him about his wife and his kids. That is all for tonight.

    πŸ™‚ πŸ™ πŸ˜› πŸ˜€ πŸ˜‰

  15. yoyoyoyoyo i am a little late on journals (still blogging on pj1 and im reading pj3 πŸ™‚ ) anyway, they are on a truck with animals, the zebra says to the lion… πŸ™‚ no, the zebra will get sawed in half at a MAGIC show, but they free him and get off at Las Vegas (bingo time!) they go to the lotus hotel and casino. they stay for about 5 hours, but its actually 5 days. it sucks you in and you never leave. they have 1 day to complete their quest. a gang goes by and they duck in a waterbed store. Procrustes the stretcher tries to strech them to fit, but they cut off his head. then they find the portal to Hades (a recording studio) and enter. annabeth distracts cerebrus the 3 headed dog with a ball, grover almost gets dragged into tartartan by the flying shoes luke gave them, and they go to hades and ask for the master lighning bolt, but ares gave it to them in a bag he gave them. gotta go eat, brb

  16. Since I’m so graced with being a 7th Grader I only have two blogs:)!!

I found a great book for me to read Its called “Don’t Dare read this Mrs. Dunphrey” its really awesome to read because its a journal instead of just like someone just writing for the fun of it. But instead of just writing about that book I have to write about a story we recently read in your class.

Wednesday- Started this book Umm last week sometime but I’ve read a good bit! This girl who goes by Tish and shes your everyday Gothic weirdo.. No offence intended but shes the type of girl you dont wanna tell her her eyeliners smearing. I don’t really know when the book was writen but obviously it was way back when b/c Tish write an entire journal about her poofy big hair. Oh about the book and its purpose well Tish starts a new school year and her new teacher ask every student to keep a journal and write in it a couple times a week and you can mark the journal with “Please Do Not Read” and the teachr will not read. Tish has VERY many troubles in life so this journal thing at first she thought it was VERY stupid (we have a lot in common.. Just Kiddingg) But after a couple weeks of writing she really enjoys it and stats being an “over acheiver” and writing more journals then she needs.

Thursday- So some background history about Tish.. Her mother and father were your classic case of MADLY in love but the constently faught and one day her dad just got uo and left. Which destroyed her mother. Tish had to support her little brother, her mom, and herself. All while going to school and working part-time at the Burger Boy. After like 4 years of her father being gone and her mother being useless the word gets around that Tish’s dad is back in town. Tish is the only one who thinks its a horrible Idea for her mom to go find him and breing him back into the family. Of course does anyone listen to her? No, after school and working at the Burger Boy she walks in the front door and doesn’t see her mom on the couch but hears her laughter in the kitchen. Tish walks into the kitchen and theres her father just sitting there at the table like nothing ever happened.

WEELLLLL GOOD LUCK RUNNINGGGG!!!!!!!! JUST KEEP RUNNING JUST KEEP RUNNING ALL YOU GOTTA DO IS RUN RUN RUN! DOO DOO DAH DOO EVERYONE LOVES TO RUUNNN EVERYONE LIKES TO RUUNNN!!

    Peace out Snoop Dawgg

  17. Ok, my last blog of the week πŸ™ oh well, it just so happens to be a dialectical journal of the book I’m reading, and that I have been reading for 2 weeks (only like 10 pages left in it πŸ™ )

Facts: Brigadier General Pickering has put together a last ditch effort to help Sergeant Koffler and Lieutenant Howard escape from Buka forever. They are not sure of either men’s condition, though it is believed to be bad. They have a plane that is going to land on a beach and deliver the new soldiers and supplies and take away Koffler and Howard.

Opinions?: WOW!!! It is such a sketchy plan that may end up going well. When I first heard of the plan, I was like ‘it aint gonna work’ but now that I see how well its going, I am second guessing what I said. Congratulations to all the characters in the story, as well as Griffin for writing another amazing book!!!!

  18. Thursday-
    Dear Rachel,
I have made some brand new friends. I met a woman named bernita today! How’s mommy and daddy and brother? I’m great (: ! I love riding the buses everyday and I meet new people every day I love it.well hope your good. Love Beth!

  19. sorry about that tonight while I was typeing I accedently pressed the enter button so as i was saying tonight i am reading the book old yeller and the main conflict was that one of there cows was haveing a baby and it took off to hide where it thought it was safe. so now the boy has to go out and find the heifer. when he found her she had already had her calf and was now in sort of a guard mode so it was really hard for him to get the cow home , but he did get her home. this just brought on more conflict, becuase now they have to milk a cow that will not even let anyone touch it. but old yeller is always there to solve the problems this family has. this cow is horribly scared of oold yeller so all old yeller had to do was just stand in front the cow named heifer spot and they got there milk and they all lived happily ever after.

  20. I amow reading the book Sabriel. Sabriel is joined on her journey back to the Old Kingdom by an ancient Free Magic construct of unknown origin named Mogget. Mogget appears in the form of a white cat and is bound by a red Charter magic collar to serve the Abhorsen. Sabriel is told never to release Mogget’s collar. Sabriel and Mogget take a craft known as a Paperwing to try to find her father. On the way, they are attacked by the Dead. The craft is wrecked, and in order to save herself, Sabriel releases Mogget. The cat reveals himself to be an incredibly powerful Free Magic elemental. It almost kills Sabriel, but she rebinds him with a ring she received from him a few hours before for just such a purpose.

Sabriel and Mogget then find themselves in the pit of Holehallow, the burial place of ancient royalty, where they come across and free their next companion, the mysterious Touchstone, who has been magically imprisoned as a wooden ship’s figurehead for over two hundred years. He claims that he doesn’t remember his past, or even his own name. At Mogget’s suggestion, he asks to be called Touchstone, even though it is a jester’s name, because he secretly remembers his failure to protect his family.

Now that is all I have so far. Peace. πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ :0 8)

  21. First of all, Congrats to BOB. Second, good luck at Boston Mafeld!

I didnt read much, but this is what I read……………
Ferdy and Coggs, the hedgehogs, have been captured. They are taken back to Tsarmina to be questioned because they know so much about their army and friends. They dont tell Tsarmina anything, and in the process, Fortunata the vixen kicks Coggs; what a brilliant idea. They are locked up, one on either side of Gingivere. Gingivere digs through the blocks to be able to talk to Ferdy and Coggs. He tells them that he wants to help them and he wont hurt them. He also tells them that when Chibb, the good guys’ spy, comes back, he will let him know that two of the woodlanders are being held prisoner. Meanwhile, Chibb is flying over the lands of Kotir while the soldiers are trying to ambush the woodlanders. One of the weasels sees him, and points him out. The leader sends a soldier back to the castle to tell Tsarmina about the robin, but on his way there, a golden eagle flies down on him and eats him. The golden eagle is neutral between the Kotirians and woodlanders.

Down in Brockhall, Bella, Martin, Gonff, and Dinny the mole are searching for a map to Salamandastron to try to find BOAR the Fighter, Bella the BADGER’S father, because Bella knows that if they have him, they will defeat Kotir. Martin cant find it, so he slams his fist against the desk in frustration and a secret drawer flies out into his gut. He looks inside to find a scroll. The map!!! No. It’s a riddle. Yay. This is a flashback to The Hobbit. Anyway, they have to go through all of these riddles to find the map, which they eventually do, but what caught my eye the most was how Boar’s dad named him after trees. B-Beech, O-Oak, A-Ash, R-Rowan. These woods are also the types of wood Boar’s father made a table with (where he his the map). I mean, why do you name your son after trees??? I bet that made him feel special.

So they have the map, and they are about to go toward Salamandastron. Which is also known as the Mountain of the Fire Lizard or something like that.

    Again, good luck at Boston!

  22. hey hi hows it going, hows the weather……. πŸ˜› okay no more stalling i am focused

  23. Book: Left Behind, book One

There is conflict in what i read which is internal because Judd Thompson Jr. acts like a Christian by going to church, and camps, and stuff like that but deep down inside his heart, he is really not a Christian. He lies to his parents saying that he was going to the library to study, but he is really running away from home. All of a sudden he is always ill and takes it out on everyone else in his family because of stress. He lies to his family members saying that he is a Christian and treats everyone the way they shouldnt be treated. He keeps on and keeps on lying and tries to cover it up. He felt bad when he lied to everyone saying that he is a Christian. He is just stressed out and no one in is family knows why and they try to figure it out.

  24. Book: Left Behind, book One

The author’s purpose is to explain what Vicki Byrne looks like and some of her charcteristics. In the book, it describes Vicki as a person with her own personality who dresses to impress other people and loves leather. She has her hair different everyday and loves flashy, styling tops. She is ALWAYS covered in jewelry and wears boots. From what the book is saying, it sounds like to me that Vicki is kind of the popular person who dresses better than everyone else and has her own “posse”. The one thing that bothers her is that she lives in a trailer park. When she arrived on the bus during her freshman year at high school, she was worried because she couldnt get a seat and everyone held their nose because she was a “trailer park” kid but she dressed like she was rich. She couldnt find a seat and she really didnt want to sit by the rich kids nor the black kids.

  25. Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m reading a book I got from the Easter bunny called “Frenemies”.
this in my blog for Wednesday:

So This is one of the only books I’ve read the intro. of. It basically goes over what I’m gonna learn in the book and what a frenemie is.
A Frenemie is a friend + enemy = frenemie. What do you do when friends turn mean? I’m using probably a couple different friends to decide on their sum all together. If your friend leaves you upset just 20% of the time then you have a frenemie. Frenemies are worse than enemies for many reasons. One reason is the fact that friends know more stuff about you in most friend relationships. another reason is that it teaches you to not trust others. This book is a great help to me… Most of the time I don’t have a clue about how relationships go. From friends to boyfriends. I know people have much worse situations, but bullying has really killed me inside. Only the people closest to me really come close to understanding… Anyway getting off subject… The book looks like it is the prefect relationship tester! My friends can’t get their hands off of it.

  26. Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I’m reading a book I got from the Easter bunny called “Frenemies”.

So This is one of the only books I’ve read the intro. of. It basically goes over what I’m gonna learn in the book and what a frenemie is.

  27. Hey I’m reading Frenemies.
In the book I found out I’m a “control freak” and my friend is “over defensive” making us both Frenemies so image how its been for two Frenemies. It also made me take a test. Our relationship is in between so we need to do something fast!!! I agree with the book,… Frenemies are a lot worse than enemy’s. They can get in your head and make you believe things. I remember Mary Beth she had me believing I was beating her up and isolated me when it was her faking it. They make you go insane!!!!

  28. Monday

I have been reading Number the stars. It is very interesting book. A summary of what I read is that at her uncles house. They are getting everybody on the boats and Ann Marie and Cirtsti are the only ones left in the house. when Ann Marie wakes up in the morning she is worried because her mothr had not returned to the house. She walks over to the window and she looks outside. she sees a blurry object in the path and she wipes her eyes. She looks again and notices that it is her mother laying in the middle of the path.

I think the author’s purpose is to entertain and to inform because the book tells you about what it was like in world war 2. So its realistic fiction. The book tells facts, yet it is very interesting at the same time. I like books that are not all facts, but I don,t like that many books without facts.

    Wednesday

I think the book relates to change because Ann Marie changes throughout the book. Her friend Elen also has to change her jewish act and start to act like normal people, otherwise the nazis will kill her. Thats way she is hiding at Ann Maries house.

    Thursday

This book is like another book I read, called life on the plains. They are alike because they are both based in the 1940s and both of them are about war. One is about a boy and one is about a girl. both books are really good. bye

  29. Well there are no new blog pages and I heard that Mr. Mayfield scored in the 2,000s out of 20,0000 people. GO MAYFIELD! Now what I am reading is Pendragon again because it was the first thing I saw in the library and the bell was about to ring.

The story starts after Bobby Pendragon has spoken with Loor, who explains to him, the lead Traveler and main character, the situation on Zadaa, introduces Bobby to her sister and her acolyte Saangi and her friends, Bokka and Teek. Soon afterwards, Saint Dane, who is disguised as a Batu warrior, beats Bobby up with a wooden staff. Bobby is almost killed but is rescued by Pelle a Zinj, the kind prince, and recovers quickly in a Batu hospital. After Bobby has recovered, he decides to start training to be a warrior. Alder, the Traveler from Denduron, joins Loor and Saangi to help train him. For a month, Bobby works hard in a deserted training camp. Finally, at the end of the month, they all celebrate his successful training but are interrupted by an attack by a group of Rokador, who shoots Bokka with an arrow and flee. As Bokka dies, he gives Bobby and Loor a map to the underground city Kidik, and tell them that Saint Dane is there.

Loor and Bobby decide to attend the Batu Festival of Azhra first, because Pelle a Zinj has invited them personally. At the festival, Pelle a Zinj is killed by a Rokador. After this, it rains, but still there is no ready supply water for the Batu. This convinces the Batu that the Rokador are indeed holding back the water and they start making preparations for war. Meanwhile, Bobby and Loor begin their journey to the city of Kidik. There, they find an underground ocean of fresh water. They take a boat across this, arriving on an island where Saint Dane captures them and puts them in a prison-like room. Bobby and Loor later escape and learn that after an epidemic virus had killed most of the Rokador, Saint Dane was able to convince the survivors to attack the Batu. The plans was to hold back the water, making the Batu starve; when the Batu attacked, the Rokador would flood the entire village, drowning all.

Saangi and Alder join Bobby and Loor. As the Rokador prepare to flood the underground, the protagonists foil their plans by flooding it prematurely, presumably to the ruin of both tribes. Rather than abandon one another, warriors of both tribes co-operate to escape the flood. The heroes escape from the floods by riding a ‘dygo’, the machine that the Rokador use for making tunnels. All the water shoots out from the underground and creates a river which flows by the city of Xhaxhu, providing water for both peoples.
That is all for now. Peace. πŸ˜‰ πŸ™‚ :O 8)

  30. Dear people of Mayfield’s blog site,

I AM SO BORED!!!!! I am reading this wonderful book (though not recommended for those who do not like vulgar language and extreme, crude details and those who are not mature enough to handle things maturely) called “Dead watch” by John Sandford. It is amazing and I have read 127 pages of the book since I picked it up last Thursday (which is an incredible feat for me(: ).

Anyways, the author’s purpose of this book, I believe is to explain how harsh politics are and the way that they work. It shows how people assume things so quickly and automatically think that the obvious answer is the truth, when in fact, there is something lying underneath that is the real truth. In many things this is true, though sometimes the obvious answer is the truth. In the book, he uses Arlo Goodman (the governor of Virginia) as his seemed good guy who is lying through his teeth. He says he has nothing to do with the murder of Lincoln Bowe, but I believe that he does in fact have some involvement in the crime. I will continue reading and let ya’ll know what happens next (:

  31. Monday:
This week I am reading the book Dear John by Nicholas Sparks, go figure, haha. Everyone is reading Nicholas Sparks books. I hate to say this but they are becoming even more popular than Twilight books, uh I want to bite my tounge! Anyways, this book starts out slow. LIke really slow. It starts off with john talking about his dad. Him and his dad have a very strained relationship. They are nice to each other and they love each other but they are still distant.

    Tuesday:
This book has to do with change because during the book both John and Savannah go through emotional change. Saannah goes through change because when John goes to war the second time, she realizes that she fell in love with someone else. She still loved John though. At the end of the book though John goes through change as well. He realizes that if you really love someone you will be happy for them even when your not with them.

    Wednesday:
    Dear John,
You really shouldn’t be so mad at Savannah. She was just trying to help. I know sometimes she over exaggerates (can’t spell) sometimes and she gets into everyone elses buisness, but that’s just who she is and none of us can change that. Even though she does do all that stuff we all love her anyways. She is very kind hearted. I know I’m sounding like I’m trying to tell you what to do, but she loves you JOhn and you shouldn’t let her go.
    -Anonynomus (again can’t spell)

    Thursday:
Dear John is mainly about a war soldier coming home from Germany, where he is stationed, and when he goes to the beach he meets this girl named Savannah. She is very sweet. They eventually fall in love in two weeks, but when he has to go back to war she becomes very upset, but she writes letters and they stay together and when he comes back they fix things up. Then he goes back to war again and she falls in love with someone else and she breaks John’s heart. Then her new husband gets skin cancer and John comes back and realizes how happy she is and just tries to be friends with her, but he realizes that he can’t do that because it is too painful, but she gets really upset because she really is not happy and she starts to think that she made the wrong choice, which she did. Then when John leaves her for good he sells his dad’s coin collection, by the way he died, and gives all the money to her new husband to help him with his medical insurance, but it turns out that he won’t make it anyways. He realizes that true love is when you love the other person even when thay are not with you.

  32. Hey mayfield tonight while I was reading the book old yeller the main conflict was that old yeller was attacked by travis’s hogs while he was trying to mark them. right now the only thing holding old yeller together is a piece of mule hair. becuase the hogs completely ripped his stomach open. Another conflict to me would be how sad this bok is. this book is so sad that I almost shed a tear for old yeller. but I held it together. travis made a promis to old yeller that he would come back for him and he liked that dog so much that he went completly against what his mother said because his mother told him to stay off of his leg because the hogs got to him to, but he kept his promise and wnet back for old yeller. they just barely got there because now the buzzards were trying to get old yeller and old yeller was barely able to defend himself but when travis, his mom, and his little brother got there they chased off the buzzards and got old yeller and sewed him up. I just quit reading so I could blogg and go to bed. so congradulations on your position in the boston I guess I will see you tommorrow , if you come back tommorrow.

P.S.: tell mama mayfield I said hi.

  33. Book: Left Behind, book 1

There is conflict which happens to be internal, because while Vicki’s parents are out in her trailer park neighborhood partying like they do every Friday night, her and her friends are hidding somewhere where no one can see them and have beer and cigarretts. At the party, (there were some “Religious” people that live in her trailer park and who happened to be Christians and go to church), one of the “Religious” guys walked up to the stage at the party where there was drinking, smoking, and fighting going on like usual. The guy walked up to the stage and was delivering a message. Vicki saw that her parents had got down on their knees and were crying out to GOD asking for forgiveness. They got saved and left the party. Before Vicki arrived at home, she started chewing gum to hide the smell of that she was smoking and drinking. The internal conflict part is that she was smoking and drinking behind her parents’ back.
