“wow, you ran all around that lake???” “yep, a whole mile!!!”

(subject header overheard at church today – a mighty superhero runner discussing his feat at spain park… πŸ™‚

so i was reading in my journal from three years back and at this point, i had some morning runs in the 40s – these are about the only moments i wish i could go back in time (i have a short memory as well b/c this “hot and humid” feeling i have currently out there is how i described summer running – which i’m sure was hotter but i truly can’t remember how much more miserable…)

on to the books – “in the water they can’t see you cry” by amanda beard – good bio about a swimmer – her bravery to discuss the abusive situations she found herself in – both abuse from others and things she did to herself – i admired her courage to come forth – very little about swimming in the book – good part about the whole issue of being an olympian at 13 and then a year later being a “has been” because you’ve hit puberty – sad that female athletes have to go through that

“the science magpie” by flynn – odds and ends from the magnificent world of science – and math – and literature – the cool part for me were the number of literature tie-ins to scientific works – poems about science – fiction about science – obviously, 90 percent was lost on me, but i do enjoy learning new things and this book was full of them

“pray” by hornby – recap of the 2011-2012 priemer league season – so british soccer – very cool as a comparsion to the football-crazed South – for example, the writer said 95 percent of teams live in the past – whether 5, 10, 15-plus years back, they go back to an era and live there – of course, alabama fans used to do this for years – now, they live in the present while ole miss still drags up archie manning and their 1960-something team that was really good – and ole miss is of course not alone…

“how the SEC became goliath” by glier – excellent book explaining how the SEC rose to power and won the last six BCS titles – a must-read for college football fans – even “experts” will enjoy it

okay, so that was a productive week – hope you get in some good reading before finals

  1. Ok, here are my journals for Wednesday and Thursday

    Wendesday(dialectical journal)
Fact: Melkor builds a fortress to get powerful(pg.36)
Opinion: I think if I was living in this book I would try to destroy or try to find the fortress so others could, well destroy it.
    Fact: The ManwΓ« have a feast(pg.36)
Opinion: I think that this feast shouldn’t of happen because then this could cause a lot of commotion or almost an uprising.

    Thursday(creative poem)

    Poems
    Alive rhythmical
    Full of stanzas
    Emotions orbit around poems
    Song

  2. Soooooooooo, I just now figured out I’m not the ONLY one who doesn’t have spell check. Here’s some things that will explain my typing ways and make stuff easyer to under stand.
    1. I either do my blog on my computer or my phone.
    2. My computer doesn’t have spell check
    3. My phone DOES have spell check.

Right now my blog is on my phone. I’m gonna do two different poems because I didn’t do one Tuesday and then I have to do one today.

    Tuesday:

    Dumb,
    Stupid,
    Your just plain weird.
    Ugly,
    Messed up,
People call you ALL these things.
    You take it everytime,
    Pretend it doesn’t effect you,
But in the inside your crying,
    Your breaking down screaming,
    Punching walls.
But on the outside you pretend to be happy,
    You act like nothing happened,
    This is my life.

    ^
This isn’t ACTUALLY my life, but it’s happened before, but don’t pretend to be sad for me cause
    1. Your not really sad for me anyway
    2. I don’t need anyone’s charity
    3. It only happens sometimes and I don’t get THAT mad that I want to punch anyone when I wrote the poem I kinda made stuff sound more harsh

    Today:
You are strong because you know your weaknessiess.
You are beutiful because you know your flaws.
You are smart because your NOT a know-it-all.
You can dream because you know there are no limits.
    Live like you’ll die today,
    Dream like you’ll live forever.

    ^
I REALLY like this poem it makes me feel happy ( this poem is 100% made by me ) and if anyone is feeling sad read this poem.

Bye people’s of the world πŸ˜‰ la la la la la!!!

I hate hights but it really you got up and it was very smoth. Nothing to it I said it was very fun taking off was cool you got to go really fast to catch air we were flying in one of those flying go cart things he got me up and turned the engine off we dropped 800 ft in 5mins because it has a big parachute. That is all for this blog.

  5. Ok im just gonna go ahead and say this……………..People say im weird!!! They need to meet you guys. Anyway! Im sry for blogging so late. I got home not to long ago so sry. :'(

I finally finished the series “Found” today so yay! Im like so happy cause I read over 1000pg. in this short amount of time. In the end Jonah and Kathrine finally got to go home and save Andrea, but the peaceful, compforting life he was living at that moment would notlast vry long. Although he seris is over i hate it when authors will end the book in an unfinished ending. Well i encorage all off you to read the series and im now reaing another eries.

  6. mon- i have started on the prisoner of azcaban. i am at the part where they are trying to figure out the story of sirius’ past. when harry and the gang left hagrids shack i thought they would go back and watch the execution of buckbeak. but they didnt.

tues- ron was having trouble with scabbers and hermione and harry were trying to get ron to come on. then out of nowhere sirius (again matti told me the ending)attacks and i thought he was going to kill harry then he goes after ron.

weds- then crookshanks comes up and ron and sirius are going towards the womping willow.crookshanks hits the knot and harry and hermoine enter to follow black. once they get to the end of the tunnel they are surprised to see that the dog is black.

thurs-then lupin shows up and tells harry and his friends about him and harrys dad. he tries to explain how scabbers is an animorfer but they wont listen. after alot of arguing snape shows up and starts doing things that im pretty sure are illigle for a teacher to do in our modern world.

  7. Now Mr.Mayfield, your probably getting tired of me doing all of my blogs at 10:30 on Thursday night, and I’m sorry. I’m very lazy. If you hate and despise me for the rest of my life I would understand that. Here they are! I’m reading(For the 2nd time)Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by jk Rowling. I’m really enjoying it seems things I never saw before. even though I’ve already read it I’m feeling all the same feelings I had when I first read it. I get really nervous when something happens to Harry. It’s one of the best books ever.

  8. Not only is it really exciting with its ups and downs, but I truly admire J.K. Rowling for her idea on the plot. It is a perfectly designed plot and I love it soooooo much. She is a very good writer.

  9. Though I did notice how unbelievably hard it is to visualize hagrid saying those things. It’s fairly hard to read Hagrids dialogue because of all the weird words. A question for Mr.Mayfield btw when you say we can bring food on Friday what do you mean? I was very confused.

  10. I also noticed that when J.K Rowling wrote this she thought the whole thing through before she wrote it because in the 4th chapter Hagrid says he was expelled and wouldn’t tell Harry why which played a huge part in the second book. Goodnight everybody:) TGITN!!!(Thank goodness its Thursday night.)

  11. KK, strange poem time!!!! (really, how do you make your name blue?)
    Never
