Measurement
Students took the Measurement Quiz (50 pt) in class. After the Quiz, students began the Scientific Method Vocabulary (38 pt). We will have the SI Lab tomorrow so dress appropriately.
Length Lab
Students performed calculations and measurements in SI on the Length Lab WS (70 pt). They were assigned the Measurement Crossword Puzzle (28 pt) to complete for homework in preparations for the Measurement Quiz on tomorrow. They were reminded to prepare and dress correctly for the SI Lab on Friday.
Density
Students worked 3 practice problems on the board solving for density, mass and volume. They were then given the density Word Problem WS (27 pt) to complete for homework. They were reminded of Measurement Quiz on Thursday and The SI Lab on Friday.
Density
Students learned the concept of density; units of density; and how density is used to identify substances. We will learn how to calculate density upon returning to school. They were reminded to have their calculators on Tuesday.
Temperature Conversions
Students took the Temperature Conversions Test on converting among the three temperature scales. After completing the Temperature Conversions Test(52 pt), students began the Science Skills Review Questions Worksheet (60 pt). The Science Skills worksheet will the first grade for the 2nd 9 Weeks grading period.
ACT/Work Keys
10th graders took the ACT Pretest and 12 Graders took the WorkKeys test. All other students had an E-day assignment. Chemistry students were to read p. 50-52 of the online textbook and write a summary. Then, answer the questions on the bottom of p. 51 and top of 52. Then, they were to use those notes to answer p. R101, #35-36 from the online text. Grade sheets will be taken up Wednesday.
Measurement
Students completed the "Measurement" Vocabulary (40 pt) in class. They got their Temperature Conversions Table back before class was complete sos that they could study the formulas for their Temperature Conversions Test on Wednesday. The 10th graders will be taking the Pre-ACT tomorrow.
Temperature Conversions
10-3 (Thursday)
Students were introduced to the 3 major temperature scales used in the world. We also learned the formula for converting from the Celsius scale to the Fahrenheit scale. After performing 6 practice problems, they began and completed the Temperature Conversion WS 1 (30 pt) for homework, after beginning in class.
10-4 (Friday)
Students learned how to convert from the Kelvin to the Celsius Scale and vice versa. They continued to convert from Fahrenheit to Celsius and vice versa as they completed a temperature conversion table (40 pts) in class.
SI Conversions
Students took the SI Conversions Test (30 pt). After finishing the SI Conversions Test, they finished the Measurements RQ (60 pt) and Crossword Puzzle (24 pt).
