We went over the answers to the "Weathering" Ch. Assessment and from the website. Then students took the "Weathering" Chapter Test. After the test, students began the "Running Water" Voc.
Charles Law
Students discussed Charles Law and what causes the volume and temperature to change. Then we worked 3 practice problems on Charles Law. Comparisons w/Boyles Law were discussed, then the Charles Law Word Problem Worksheet was assigned.
Boyles Law
Students were introduced to the relationship between volume and pressure in Boyle's Law with a worksheet. Also, we will need a calculator each day for the next 2 weeks.
Weathering; Rocks
2nd
The students finished the "Weathering, Soil, and Mass Movements" Seek-n-Find and took the Vocabulary Test. They will have the Chapter Test on Tomorrow.
5th.
The students used their book to complete the Study Guide for the Chapter on Rocks. They will complete the Study Guide tomorrow in Class.
Weathering
2nd
Students completed the "Weathering, Soil, and Mass Movements" Chapter Assessment and began the Seek-n-Find in preparation for the Vocabulary Test on Tomorrow. The Chapter Test on the same material will be on Wednesday.
5th
We completed the Rocks Seek-n-Find as an introduction to the chapter. The Rocks Vocabulary and Review Questions have been done to help introduce the chapter to them.
Pressure
We discussed the formula for pressure after talking about the concepts in Pascal's Principle. Then, we worked 3 practice problems dealing with the calculation of pressure, force or area. Finally, we finished with a word problem worksheet calculating pressure, force or area using Pascal's principle.
Weathering & Rocks
2nd
We finished the notes on Weathering, Soil and Mass Movements. We will have a Review by doing the Ch. Assessment and Review Guides in preparation for a Vocabulary Test on Tuesday and Chapter Test on Wednesday.
5th
We worked on the Rocks Vocabulary (58 pts) and Review Questions (60 pts) in class. Whatever was not finished was due on Monday.
Buoyancy & Archimedes Principle
We looked at a video, "The Buoyancy Factor" and wrote a 3 paragraph summary of what we learned. Then, we continued our notes on Archimedes Principle and the facts on Pressure. We will need a calculator every day next week as we work word problems dealing w/Boyles and Charles Laws.
Weathering, Minerals
2nd
Continued the notes on Weathering and the types of weathering. We introduced soil profiles and horizons and the characteristics of the profile.
5th
Students took the Minerals test w/their textbooks after reviewing the notes from the Review Guides on Ch. 2. They began the Rocks vocabulary after the test.
