Students got to look up the vocabulary for the next chapter on Forces. They are also responsible for reading and answering questions on a questions worksheet in the "Forces" Chapter. Yesterday we completed the calculations for the Speed/Motion Lab on Mon & Tuesday.
How Fast Are You?
Now that we've finished to academic STUFF, we get to apply what we've learned about speed and acceleration. Today, we get to go outside and find our speed as we walk 10 yds then run 10 yds. We will determine our speeds in those distances. This is the 1st part to our SPEED lab. The weather has cooperated so far, so lets walk... and... Run.
Motion
Today we get to take a Motion pretest from the books website. After reviewing the answers to the questions from the book's website w/20 questions. We then will answer questions from the Motion Chapter Review in the book for a 50 point grade. The Motion Test is tomorrow and Speed Lab on Friday.
Black History Month/Assemblies
Today we talked about proper behavior during assemblies and etiquette as well as a description of Civil Rights and Black History. Prominent black Americans were discussed such as Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks and Thurgood Marshall in preparation for the assembly on Monday w/Ms. Loggins.
Speed, Avg. Speed, and Acceleration
Today, we discussed the importance of understanding a velocity in terms of tornado's and weather. We have compared speed, velocity, and acceleration. ALL students will need a calculator for tomorrow. We will calculate acceleration.
CALCULATORS
Be sure to bring YOUR calculators this week. We'll be calculating Speed and Acceleration
Speed
Hey MHS scientists, today we finished the Speed WordProblem worksheet and began to talk about graphing speed and displacement
Speed Word Problems
Today, we took notes on speed and motion. Then we discussed the things you need to calculate Speed. Then we began the Speed Word Problem Worksheet. There is no homework for this weekend.
Vocabulary & RQ
Hey Physical Science students,
We completed the Motion Vocabulary in class. The Review Questions were to be finished for homework. Have a great day!!!
LAB
All classes will be going to Lab to perform Metric Measurements on Wednesday/Thursday, Sept. 12/13. Be sure to come prepared.
