Today, the students will finish the drawings of the 3 types of of Plutons from p. 290 in their text. They will then complete a Seek-n-Find of Famous Volcanoes. Then they will use the laptops to research any 10 famous volcanoes from the Seek-n-Find to be turned in.
Motion
Today is a review day, with the Seek-n-Find from Motion to help review for the Vocabulary Test in the Middle of Class. Then, they will take the Vocabulary test which will lead to completing the Chapter Review. All of this will be done in preparation for the Motion Chapter Test which will be tomorrow.
Newton’s 1st Law of Motion
Notes were taken on Sir Isaac Newton and his 1st Law of Motion. Descriptions and discussions were a part of the class. Students also were told of the Voc. Test on Thursday and Chapter Test on Friday.
Volcanic Properties
Students completed the Volcano parts drawings on the front of a sheet of paper and then added the Shapes of Volcanoes w/the descriptions on the back. They also were to complete a Pluton Drawing from p. 260.
Volcanism
Today, we used the computers to look up a picture of the parts of a volcano and draw, color and label them. We will have a poptest tomorrow and continue the drawing of plutons and locate famous volcanoes.
Forces that Cause Motion
Today, we took notes and discussed motion stationary objects. We also compared balanced and unbalanced objects and the forces that cause them. We will have a vocabulary test on Motion on Thursday and Chapter Test on Friday.
Acceleration
Today, students worked practice problems dealing w/Acceleration. We also worked practice problems where the unit of time must be converted to work the Acceleration word problem. A Voc. Test is scheduled for Thursday on Motion and the Chapter Test is scheduled for Friday.
Volcanism
We completed the notes on Volcanoes and where magma originates as well as ways it is produced. The students will complete a drawing of the parts of a volcano tomorrow and the types of plutons. A Voc. Test is schedule for Thursday w/a Chapter Test on Friday.
Volcanoes
We discussed how magma was made and the 3 factors that influence magma making on Friday. Students need their colored pencils on Monday.
Acceleration
We worked 3 sample acceleration word problems. Then, each student worked on their Acceleration word problem worksheet. They must have a calculator on Monday to complete the worksheet. I will meet them at the door looking for a calculator on Monday.
