Students will complete the Volcanoes Voc. and Review Questions today in class.
Balancing Equations
Students got to complete the 2nd in a series of Balancing Equations Worksheets. They were also responsible for finishing the Word Scramble. There will be a Ch. Review, and Vocabulary Test tomorrow on the Chemical Reactions Chapter. The Chapter Test on Chemical Reactions will be on Wednesday.
Plate Tectonics
Today, we reviewed the Ch. 17 Test, Assessment from the book, computer questions and took the Plate Tectonics Test.
Balancing Equations
Today, we started the balancing of equations and continuing to name the types of equations. Students completed a "Identify and Balancing Equations" WS and continued balancing on "Types of Reactions" WS.
Plate Tectonics
Students completed the Ch. 17 Study Guide and Ch. Assessment first. Then we took the Plate Tectonics Voc. Test and Pretest. The Plate Tectonics Chapter Test will be tomorrow.
Balancing Equations
We started the class by reviewing the rules on balancing equations, then we went over some basic equations and did some balancing on the board.
Plate Tectonics
Students drew a picture of the Paleomagnetism Figure from their books to emphasize a way to prove evidence of Plate Tectonics and its theory. Then they took the Plate Tectonics Voc. Test and finished the Ch. Assessment for Plate Tectonics. They also finished the questions fromt the Ch. 17 worksheets that they started at the beginning of this chapter. They will have their Plate Tectonics chapter Test on tomorrow, so they must have a pencil.
Chemical Reactions
Notes were taken from the powerpoint on Chemical Reactions and we began the basic parts of balancing chemical equations, by learning how to count atoms. We counted atoms in regular formulas and formulas w/coefficients and subscripts. The later classes also finished Aim 15 and had the Types of Reactions Poptest.
Evidence of Plate Tectonics
We completed the notes on Plate Tectonics and began to work on the Plate Tectonics Crossword Puzzle for a grade. Colored pencils/markers are needed for tomorrow to draw the Paleomagnetism drawing for support of Plate Tectonics and a Voc. Test.
Decomposition Reactions
Students completed Aim 16 from the Chemistry Workshop Workbooks. Then we went over the answers and took a Chemical Reactions Poptest on at Types of Reactions WS.
