We finished the notes on Plate Tectonics talking about evidence for Plate Tectonics from technology and what causes the motion of the lithospheric plates.
Types of Reactions
Students answered the Aims 14-17 in the Chemistry Worksho 3 Workbook. They all talked about the Tyes of Chemical Reactions. Then we took the Chemical Reactions WS for a poptest
Convergent/Divergent Boundaries
Students completed the 3rd of the Convergent Boundary drawings. If they did not finish, they were to finish overnight. Those who finished early were to complete the Ch. 17 worksheet from 2 days earlier. Then we concluded class with the notes on divergent boundaries.
Chemical Reactions
The Chemistry Workshop 3 workbook and Aims 13-15 were continued in class. We read and answered the Aims so that we could complete the Chemical Reactions and Law of Conservation of Mass notes.
Types of Convergent Boundaries
Students drew, colored and labeled pictures from their textbook on the types of convergent boundaries discussed in class the prior day. Oceanic-Continental, Oceanic-Oceanic, and Continental-Continental boundaries were all depicted in the student's drawings.
Types of Reactions
Today, we went over Aims 12-15 in the Chemistry Workshop workbook. The Aims dealt w/what a chemical reaction is and the types. Grade Sheets were due today.
Types of Convergence Boundaries
We reviewed the 3 types of convergent boundaries and the results of their plates converging. We ended class w/drawings of the major types of convergence.
Types of Chemical Reactions
Today, we reviewed the subscript/coefficients categorizing. Then we went over the rules for counting atoms and balancing equations. We finished class with the 5 major types of chemical reactions and how to recognize them.
Plate Tectonics
We emphasized the difference in the continental drift theory and plate tectonics. Reasons to doubt the continental drift theory were discussed as well as where the lithosphere and its plates were. The seven major plates and the types of convergence and divergence were identified.
Chemical Reactions
Today, we learned the difference in products and reactants; coefficients and subscripts and how to distinguish a chemical reaction from a chemical equation.
