Students took notes on the beginnings of an earthquake and how they move.

Students took notes on the types of body waves and seismic waves. Then we differentiated between the P & S waves. The similarities in water waves and earthquake waves was discussed. We finished as we learned how to measure and detect earthquakes.

Students took notes on the characteristics of ionic and covalent compounds. We reviewed the basics of chemical bonding and valence electrons.

Today, we completed a worksheet to see if we understood the relationship between periods/energy levels and valence electrons/groups. Then we went over the characteristics of ionic compounds. We ended w/the naming of ionic compounds.

Students completed the Glaciers, Deserts, and Wind Chapter Assessment, and took the Voc. Test

Students reviewed the answers to the Glaciers, Desert and Wind Voc. Test and took the Chapter Test. Then they began the Earthquakes and Earth's Interior Voc.

Students completed the Earthquakes and Earth's Interior Review Questions and began the Powerpoint notes on the same chapter.

Element & their Properties Seek-n-Find WS was done to review the Vocabulary from the chapter as well as completing the Chapter Review.

We took the Element and their Properties Voc. Test, reviewed the answers and the Chapter Review, then took the Element and Properties Chapter Test

Students completed the Chemical Bonding Vocabulary and Review Questions Worksheet
Students were assigned the Glaciers, Desert & Wind Ch. Assessment for homework. The period was shortened due to an event in the office. They were reminded of the Chapter Test on Tomorrow.
We completed the uses for the elements on the Groups as well as the characteristics of the groups of elements on the Periodic Table. They will be having a Vocabulary Test on the Metals/Nonmetal uses tomorrow.
We reviewed the notes on charges and how ions are formed. Then began the notes on the characteristics of Groups 1 & 2 as well as the uses of the elements in those groups.
Today, we completed the Glaciers, Deserts and Wind Seek-n-find in class in preparations for the Voc. Test which we took the last 20 min. The Chapter Assessment will be done on Monday with a review of the Voc. Test and the Chapter Test will be on Tuesday.
Students were to finish the vocabulary for the Glaciers, Deserts, and Wind Chapter. Those who did not finish the Drawing of the San Dunes were to finish them today and begin the Review Questions. Lots of information for this chapter so review.
Today, students were given a worksheet to list the objectives of "Elements and Their Properties". They were then to answer uses of the elements as well as the properties of the groups. All was due tomorrow.
