Minerals
Students completed the last day of notes on Minerals, finished the Minerals RQ, and CWP. The Minerals Voc. Test is tomorrow with the Chapter Test on Wednesday.
SI Conversions
Today, we completed the SI Conversion Factor WS. We also discussed the shortcut method for determining SI conversions. Also, we used it to check for the correct answers using dimensional analysis. The SI Conversions Test is Wednesday.
MMS vs Calera MS

We learned how to calculate Density and worked 3 practice problems using the formula. Monday, students must have a calculator and we will finish the Minerals Notes.
SI Conversion Notes
Today we continued our discussions on the prefixes in SI, what numbers they represent and how they relate to each other. Monday, we will begin writing conversion factors in SI.
Minerals
Today, we learned the 6 groups that minerals are placed in and their characteristics.
English Conversions
Students took the English Conversions Test in class today. They continued work on the Measurement Voc. and Review Questions after the test.

Students learned the 5 characteristics of minerals, the 4 ways minerals are formed and the groups of minerals.
SI Notes
Students took notes on the Base units of SI, volume, mass and distance. They were reminded of the English Conversions Test on tomorrow.
