Students were given their Data Sheet from the Speed Lab on last Thursday.  We reviewed the formulas for speed and acceleration.  Then, we went over each question and how to work on the Data Sheet for the Speed Lab.  Students were then given the remainder of the class period to complete the data sheet for a 100 pt grade.  Those who did not finish were assigned the sheet for homework.

After advising the students on the need to focus the last weeks of the year, we discussed how to conduct ourselves in the computer lab.  Then, we went over the requirements for the "Volcanic Research".  Each student was given 7 volcanoes on which to read, study and come up w/7 pieces of information from country to latitude and longitude.  Students were then to type up the information on a data sheet and turn in for a grade on Tuesday.

We took the notes that students had for homework and compared them to the notes from the PowerPoint.  Then we completed the Volcanoes Crossword Puzzle (44 pts) and Chapter 18 Review Guide (84 pts).  Tomorrow we will have the Volcanoes and Other Igneous Activities Vocabulary Test (48 pts) and Chapter Assessment (60 pts).  Which leads to the Volcanoes Chapter Test on Thursday.

Today, students were allowed to use their textbook to complete the Motion Chapter Review using their textbook.  The assignment was worth 50 pts.  During the class period, they took the Motion Vocabulary Test.  They got their Word Search back during class, so they got 2 reviews to help make a great score on the Vocabulary Test.  The Motion Chapter Test (100 pts) will be taken tomorrow.

The types of Plutons and the factors that lead to the production of magma were determined by students reading and summarizing the topics in their textbook.  Then we compared the notes from their text with notes from the PowerPoint.  Emphasis being on summarizing and comprehension.
