Math Camp and SCORE Registration Information

Parents and Students:

I hope your summer is off to a great start. Please carefully read the information below for some quick summer updates:

Opportunity for Math Camp Reopened to Help Students be Prepared

Due to request from parents and students, we are reopening the registration for Summer Math Camp for our rising 6th graders and all OMMS students. We are exceeding blessed to have two of Alabama’s best teachers (Mrs. Amanda Bittinger and Mr. Jeff Norris) providing specialized instruction to benefit our students at our Math Camps this summer.

The online opportunity to register for Math Camp 2023 will reopen on Monday, June 12th.   If you have not registered your child for one of the Math Camps, please consider this opportunity.  Please see the flier below to select the absolute best time for your child to attend.

SCORE Online Registration Process Continues for Returning Students

Thanks to all of you who have already completed the online registration process.  If you have not already registered, please go ahead and upload your two proofs of residency in addition to your parent/guardian identification and pay registration fees.  (Special Note:  Please use a computer to upload the registration forms, particularly the proofs of residency.  We have encountered several complications receiving uploads from cell phones.)

I express my deepest appreciation to each of you who have already included donations to the school in addition to paying the registration fees as we prepare for the new school year.  With all local funding needed to maintain operations in a school, we are constantly in need of funding in a wide variety of areas throughout the school.  (For example, the cost of maintaining student restrooms with soap, paper towels, and cleaning products exceeds $1000 each month.)

All contributions made to OMMS are used to pay for student services support, copier rental/maintenance which is used by teachers in all subject areas, and building janitorial supplies (paper towels, bathroom tissue, hand sanitizer, cleaning supplies, etc.  Your donations greatly enhance our daily operation and should be tax deductible

I hope your summer continues to go smoothly. We are excited about each new school year, but it is always nice to step back and have plenty of time to prepare for a great school year.  Thank you for your continuous support of our schools.

Sincerely,

Larry Haynes

Dr. Larry Haynes, Principal
