Why computer science education is so important:

  • Only 27 states allow students to count computer science courses toward high school graduation.
  • There are currently 604,689 open computing jobs nationwide.
  • Last year, only 38,175 computer science students graduated into the workforce.
  • Only 1 in 4 schools teach computer programming.
  • 9 out of 10 parents want their children to learn computer science.

  • Every 21st century child should have the opportunity to learn about algorithms, how to make an app, or how the Internet works…just like they learn about photosynthesis, the digestive system, or electricity.
