The Shelby County Board of Education voted to approve David Bobo to fill the unexpired term of Kevin Morris, who was recently appointed to the Shelby County Commission.

Bobo earned a degree in Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from the University of Alabama. He has worked for Jefferson State Community College since 1994, where he currently serves as the Director of Community and Media Relations.

Bobo serves in numerous leadership positions in the community, including the boards of Leadership Shelby, Family Connection, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Shelby County. He is also an active volunteer with the Greater Shelby Chamber of Commerce. Bobo has also served as the coordinator for the Oak Mountain football father and son breakfast and is an Oak Mountain Youth League baseball and football coach. He is an active member of St. Mark’s the Evangelist Catholic Church.
