Amanda Hamm will serve as the new assistant principal for Inverness Elementary School after being approved for the position by the Shelby County Board of Education. The board also approved Joann Gates to fill the position of Supervisor of Accounting and Finance.
Ms. Hamm has seven years of experience in education and currently serves as the administrative assistant at Helena Intermediate School. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Special Education from the University of Alabama, a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Alabama, certification in Instructional Leadership from the University of Montevallo and an Education Specialist Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Alabama.
Ms. Gates is joining the Shelby County School District after serving as an accounting specialist for Mountain Brook City Schools. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from Jacksonville State University. She also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
