Today the students did a nearpod lesson on the Cell Theory using the chromebooks.

Today in class we discussed the microscope and the cell theory. Students saw two powerpoints and took notes on a graphic organizer ( see me to get a hard copy of this) from the Cell Theory PPT.    We will have a quiz on the microscope parts definitions and locations on Friday.

Hi! Remember to check Schoology for your assignments each day. This week we will be doing a small project slideshow on the hierarchy of life and review the characteristics of living things. Next week we are back to a 5 days a week schedule for everyone.

Hi! Please go to schoology for daily assignments and extra copies of handouts. This week we are studying the characteristics of life and the disproving of the theory of spontaneous generation. Don’t forget your comic strips on Pasteur or Redi are due in class on Tues ( A Group) or Thurs ( B Goup). The comic strip templates were handed out in class this week. This week we are reviewing the Scientific Method and Science Skills. We are practicing picking out the variables in an experiment ( independent/manipulating, dependent/responding, constants/controlled variables).

Also -a reminder we are having our first quiz on Friday for B-Group and Monday for A- Group. The quiz is on Science Skills and the Scientific Method. You were sent a message through Schoology about this which lists all the materials you need to study.

Hi! This week we will be learning about skills scientists use! We will be using Chromebooks in class on Tuesday and Friday and you can bring your own device to use on those days if you wish. Our focus will be on Science Skills and the Scientific Method. We will practice using the skills scientists use and also learn how to pick out the variables as well as the groups in a scientific experiment. Please refer to schoology for videos and instructions from me on the days you are remote. You will use the handouts I give you each week both at home and the days you are in class so remember to bring those with you in your science binder each week. Our DSQ Questions (bellringers you do in the composition notebook) will only be done on the days you are in class -so only two a week for now.
