Advanced Endorsement Requirements
The following coursework is required to receive the Shelby County Schools Advanced Endorsement:
- Chemistry
- World Language (2 years of the same world language)
- One-half credit of an approved Fine Arts course
- Minimum of two AP or dual enrollment courses with one in a core content area

Grading Plan
GOLD Grades = Major tests and work products/projects will comprise of 60% of a student’s grade
SILVER Grades = Quizzes and secondary assignments will comprise of 30% of a student’s grade
BRONZE Grades = Homework and minor classwork will comprise 10% of a student’s grade
Semester averages will be comprised of two nine week grading periods each accounting for 40% of the final average and a cumulative semester exam accounting for 20% of the final average.

Meeting a College and Career Readiness Indicator
Beginning with the graduating class of 2026, all students will be required to earn a College and Career Readiness Indicator (CCR) in one of the following ways:
- Benchmark score in any subject on the ACT College Entrance Exam;
- Qualifying score of three or higher on an Advanced Placement (AP) Exam;
- College credit while in high school (dual enrollment);
- Silver or gold level on the ACT WorkKeys Exam;
- Career technical industry credential;
- Career and Technical Education (CTE) completer status (three qualifying courses in one career pathway, minimum average of 70 in each of the three);
- Military enlistment;
- Completion of an in-school apprenticeship program;
- Qualifying score of four or higher on an International Baccalaureate (IB) Exam
